One of the last projects I worked on before I returned to Norway was for a photo-shoot for Wine Country Wedding magazine. I had been working with Off The Beaten Path Weddings during the past couple months and was excited when they asked me to help them with the photo shoot. My favorite part of the project was the cake. I think the leafy "head-pieces" are super cute wrapped around the tiers. We decided to keep them simple, but you could easily make similar ones with flowers. I also love the Japanese Maple leaves in the bridal bouquet and table arrangement. Read the article here.

Just finished these bouquets for a wedding this weekend. Love the purple.

I'm finally uploading some photos from my wedding last year. I normally get so nervous doing flowers for weddings, but this time I was totally relaxed — I only had to worry about pleasing myself. 

My parent's neighbor owns a wedding planning business and was incredibly generous and provided us with props and other decorating items. You can check out her site here. She also just started a new venture called Bridechilla!

Flowers for a party last weekend. I got to use some old Fiestaware as vases. I mixed the Fiestaware with old jars for the table arrangements. I love the colors of these flowers, so bright and summery!

Latest Projects

Here are some pictures of the latest projects I've worked on. I just finished the logo and business cards for my younger brother Steven who has been devoting his time to film. He has filmed weddings and events as well as some music videos. He also produces short sketches for Youtube. I recently posted one of his videos here. I designed a logo for my Dad's business some time ago, but finally got his business cards printed. I'm now working on his long overdue website.

I have also finally finished the logo and packaging for a jam company that I've had in mind for quite some time. I created it mostly as a project for my portfolio, but the limited amount of jam I have is currently for sale. I wanted to test out a new cart plug-in that my web host is offering its customers. Succulent in bloom!

I just finished up a shoot at a beautiful farm that grows and distills lavender for it's essential oil and hydrosol. Here are the first batch of my pictures. Being in the lavender field was so peaceful and serene, the bees were hard at work trying to get every last drop of nectar from the tiny blossoms, and the scent was amazing. During the distillation I had to step out of the building because the scent of lavender was so intense.

My brother was the primary reason I was there since he is filming and creating a short documentary about the whole process. So stay tuned!

Who knew popcorn could taste better without butter?! It's true. I recently shot these photos for an upcoming newsletter for the company I work for (St. Helena Olive Oil Co.). 

Each one features a different blend of seasonings from our store. My personal favorite is the one with the pink himalayan salt. It looks so pretty! And it tastes great with walnut oil and honey drizzled on it as well. I know what we'll be snacking on while watching fireworks on Monday.

Berries, cherries, and asparagus. What do these three things have in common? Balsamic Vinegar Methode Tradizionale! We are featuring this product at work this weekend and here are a few shots I took for a blog post on three simple ways to use this product. Below are the suggestions that go along with the photos. 

1. Simmer fresh cherries in the Balsamic Vinegar until tender and pour over ice cream. They're also amazing on pancakes, waffles, crepes, pana cota, plain greek yogurt, etc., etc.

2. Simply drizzle the balsamic vinegar over fresh berries and dig in. 

3. Oven roast or saute asperagus in some olive oil with salt and pepper. Finish with a splash of balsamic vinegar.

Mother's Day Flowers

Besides the fact that Mother's Day is a time to celebrate my wonderful Mother, it's also an excuse to play with flowers!

I decided that instead of printing and mailing our Save The Dates, I would just save some time and money and email them. I had originally intended to screen-print our Save the Dates on kraft paper. Since I'm still planning on doing that with our invites, I scanned in a sheet of the kraft paper I'm going to use for the background. I think it worked out well!
