[Timkon lovesquare au] okay here’s the part I never posted here! This was a two part comic with the first one exploring superboy going for more traditional superman look (sort of based on an mlb episode where chat noir changes his whole suit and demeanor) after getting shunned by the public and media while this part was about Tim’s belief in him inspiring him to just be superboy
I’ve honestly been so busy with two jobs and having like no free time that I barely draw but I want to add more comics to this au 😣🙏
Wonder Woman: Batman, we could make good use of Nightwing with this. Would you call him?
Dick, who's filling in for Bruce as Batman: I'll call him
---
Hal: you've gained some muscles
Jason, dressed as Nightwing: I started working out
Hal: Damn. What's the routine cause I just saw you last week and you look completely different.
Jason: steroids
Dick, as batman: *chokes on coffee*
---
Superman: We might need someone who's good with guns, hm... Hey Nightwing you're in contact with redhood, right? Could you have him come?
Jason, as Nightwing: ... I don't see why not
---
Wonder woman: this security is an issue we need someone who can hack this system long enough for us to get pass
Superman: hey hood, any chance you can give red robin a call?
Tim, with 5 inches of padding, as redhood: on it
---
Hal: isn't robin usually with you all?
Flash: yeah we could use him with this one
Superman: Red Robin, would you call in Robin for us?
Damian, in red robin costume: he's dead
[Image ID: Two photos of a white hand holding a button depicting Tim Drake from DC, drawn by Chimiriah on Etsy. The first image is in front of patterned carpet, and reads: 'Showing my Tim Drake things he's never seen before'. The second image simply reads: 'Graduation'. The button is pictured in front of rows of graduates in an audience. /End ID]
Been thinking about their yj98 era angst where Batman wouldn’t let Tim take the mask off and Kon took that SO personally
creepy tim drake you will always be famous
Timkon!! Imagine if they met as civilians and he recognized Tim.
carl or whatever his name is
AU where timber's date goes normal and tim doesn't think real hard about it until they're a few months in, holding hands and tim's like "!!" and texts the YJ group chat like "hey hypothetical question, what do you do if you find yourself dating a dude?"
and everyone gets his ass because what do you mean "what do you do if you find yourself dating a dude?" did you slip into him?
Tim's like "I don't know what happened! We met up for dinner and we kept meeting up and he started staying the night and we hold hands and cuddle and share a blanket but I just thought he was super tactile like me. and we haven't talked about it so it's still very possible that sharing a drink right now is platonic"
so of course everyone is telling him to go in for a kiss while tim is like "i don't even know if he likes boys!"
meanwhile bernard is like "I didn't think I would get this far, but he hasn't made up a girlfriend yet so if we keep on track, we'll be kissing by the time we're 40. so long as he survives every rogue in gotham wanting this twink obliterated"
bee gets lipstick just to kiss his nondescript hero bird plush (i needed to fill the empty space on his couch while tim speedruns a sexuality crisis)
Tim Drake when Batman, who regularly risks his life to save others out of deep compassion for all of humanity and is vehemently against murder and using guns on ideological and emotional levels, to the point of refusing to kill his most hated enemy who murdered his child in cold blood and remains a deadly threat, is framed for killing his civilian ex-girlfriend with a gun: I hate to say it, but he could be guilty. Being a good detective means assessing all the evidence objectively and not letting personal biases blind you to possibilities. We can’t rule it out.
Tim Drake when Huntress, who regularly kills Mafia members with a special crossbow, is framed for killing a Mafia member with her special crossbow: She’s innocent. I know it. This is too sloppy and incompetent, it isn’t like her.
I actually insist this makes sense.
Because of you are coming from the frame of mind "we have to consider that anyone is capable of murder under certain circumstances", what we have with Bruce is: he doesn't kill, so in any situation where he was pushed to that point, he would be acting erratically and unpredictably from his norm. And if you are in the frame of mind that you have to consider that's still possible, it's harder to toss it away from a logical point of view that isn't just like, Dick's extreme Faith in the man.
Whereas with Helena. She has killed before. She's killed enough that we can analyze her patterns and predictability when it comes to murder. With that weapon and against that kind of target. It would not be her acting erratically, it would be her acting according to her previous M.O. And thus you can say "this is too sloppy to be her work". Because she has work to compare it to.
tim should also be screaming and kicking that bruce is letting him go that easily this should be a 12 issue situation where they don’t speak to each other for two months and don’t apologize and don’t resolve anything and you know what let’s get dick involved too i want the whole house mad
How the Batkids became a Bat/Bird:
Bruce to Dick: Damn, poor kid
Bruce to Jason: Damn, poor kid
Bruce to Damian: Damn, my kid
Bruce to Duke: Damn, poor kid
Bruce to Cass: Damn, poor kid
Bruce to Tim: Da-
Tim to Bruce: Have you ever been blackmailed?
I love the idea of Tim clocking Bruce was Batman as a small child but the problem is that he is a small child. Tim at a charity event with his parents and they're passing Bruce and Tim just tugs at Janet's hand snf he's like "Dad, that's Batman" and the Drakes are all, "Oh don't be silly, Timmy."
Then a few years later, Bruce is at a gala and Jack and he are bonding over their kids and Jack has to tell him that his Tim, his silly little boy, thinks that Bruce is Batman. And Bruce is chuckling, like "yo that's crazy" until he looks around and... is that? There's Tim pressed up against a window.
I just had to draw them
Things Tim Drake Canonically Does During "A Lonely Place of Dying"
Follows Batman and takes pictures of a fight and aftermath
Runs his bike through some pools of blood, which isn't super relevant to anything, but like, why does he do that, he could have avoided them?
Goes to Titans Tower and stakes it out with binoculars to look for Dick, but he isn't there
Goes to the apartment Dick had with Kory and Kory answers the door, but when Dick isn't there, he takes off while Kory is trying to ask him how he knows their address
Goes to Dick's older apartment by himself and when Dick isn't there either, he breaks and enters
Goes through Dick's things looking for clues to where he went
Steals a photograph right out of an album
Follows Dick to the circus
Helps Dick solve a crime
Shows Dick his pictures and begs him to come back
Gets taken to Wayne Manor by Dick
Complains about being mistaken for younger than he is
Talks about his childhood nightmares that get resolved by Batman and Robin saving him from crying
Actually breaks down crying about Batman & Robin on a conceptual level
The other things those are amongst may include ‘plays Bruce’s piano’ and ‘geeks out over Bruce’s art collection’ and I do wish we saw more of Tim being a fine arts nerd.
i miss the progressiveness of 80s batman comics, i miss leslie and her anarchist pacifist framework being considered a legitimate counter point to batman, i miss villains like the wrath targeting bruce’s commitment to the law, i miss selina calling bruce a cop, i miss that brief moment when jason’s background was a challenge to bruce’s flawed understanding of class, i miss when jason wasn’t a stereotype, i miss when comics both took themselves seriously and were self conscious enough, thus not afraid to introduce nuance and criticise the subject matter (and do so without malice)
i hate you superficial politics and disgusting conservatism of zdarsky's comics i hate you endless war on drugs plotlines i hate you the sole focus on the no kill rule as a moral indicator i hate you writers who are not able to engage with bruce's background meaningfully i hate you leslie's character assassination i hate you anti-batmans who are anti-batmans only because they kill i hate you retconning of jason's childhood into a classist stereotype i hate you bruce wayne wealthsplaining society and ethics to poor people
