For every 🍀 I get, something good happens to my muse! For every ☘️ I get, something bad happens!
Hi, it's been a while. Are you getting a very slight "buzzing" sensation behind your ears when facing a certain direction? I'm trying to see if you can sense magnetic fields yet.
“Hmmm...”
Eyes closed, brow furrowed in concentration, Murphy begins to slowly spin in place in an attempt to trigger the “buzzing”.
“I don’t...think I can feel anything. Wait...” she opens an eye and quizzically raises an eyebrow, “Are you one of the doctors?”
"Oh- uh.. Hello there, I didn't uh... didn't see you there... sorry-" ; (assistant-brown. Sorry this is so grossly late.)
“S-sorry!” Murphy stammered, jumping back a few steps. She wasn’t sure what she’d been expecting to run into around one of the Foundation corners, but the bespectacled researcher before her was significantly less frightening than anything she’d been anticipating.
“Um…hi,” her eyes dropped to his ID badge and then furtively over her shoulder at the empty hallway, “I’m, uh, I’m not supposed to be here, am I? I’m…well, I’m lost.”
Her scarred hand rose to nervously twirl her hair. Lost, sure, and in a place where people in orange jumpsuits like hers were probably killed on sight for wandering around unescorted.
“I, uh, I was on my way back to my cell with some of those guards. We turned a corner, and suddenly…I was alone. I-I know that sounds crazy, but it was like they just vanished! I tried to get back to where I’m s’possed to be, but I don’t…really recognize any of these hallways. You wouldn’t…happen to know the way back, would you…?”
Cas was silent for a moment as the scarred woman before him fidgeted about as she attempted to explain why she was alone. He nodded silently as she rambled on, adjusted his grip on the folders he was carrying, and held out a free hand. “I won’t get you in trouble. I know the way back.” He spoke gently and calmly, as he knew very well the anxiety of donning an orange jumpsuit and suddenly fearing every step and breath and perceived odd glance one took. “The guards escorting you just disappeared, though…?”
Odd. “Did you see anything else? … Anything out of place before they vanished?” Cas seemed genuinely concerned, rather than skeptical, and silently hoped something hadn’t gotten out undetected.
He was new and naive, and he was also very aware this could simply be a trick, and he really should not be offering to escort her back to her cell, alone, without a guard.
… But what voice of reason was there to tell him not to?
“…This way, then. Walk and talk. Stay ahead of me so I don’t lose you, and keep your hands in front of you, together. I’ll keep my hand on your back, so you know I’m there.”
Murphy nodded, turned, and laced her fingers together in front of her. His hand on her back was reassuring, and not just because the threat of being punished for being outside of her cell unescorted wasn’t as imminent. This place could be a veritable maze when you didn’t know your way, and wandering a maze alone brought back…unpleasant memories.
“We were in a corridor. One of the overhead lights flickered. It was dark for just a second, and…” her fingernails dug into her knuckles as she remembered how in that second the guards’ conversation had cut out mid-sentence, how suddenly her footsteps were the only ones echoing down the hallway, “…and then I was alone. I tried calling out. Nobody answered. So I just…kept walking the way we were going.”
She walked in silence for a moment, considering how to phrase the part of her experience that had most disturbed her. “…I think whatever it was happened more than once. I’m not…really sure, though. I-I might’ve just imagined it. It seemed like—sometimes, when I’d be about to turn a corner—the lights would flicker again, and I’d be facing the wrong way or in a different hallway. But it’s…hard to tell if that was because I was afraid or if it was something…else. A-anyway, I think it happened four times. All of them when I was about to turn a corner.”
D-414434? I'm going to need you for a research project. We're going to implant a magnet behind each of your ears. Is that alright?
!!!
Uhm...do I really...have a choice? S-sure, I guess?

When I inevitably die to a SCP, which one will it be and why?
"Uh, hi there?" The green haired woman waved slightly, the robotic fingers of her arm twitching slightly. "I heard about a new D-Class with an interestin' story about 'em. I'm L-... Eh, Dawnie. I'm a former agent."
Taken aback by the sudden visitor, Murphy triesto disguise a small jump as intentional by standing from her cell’s lonechair. “Ah, uh, n-nice to meet you,Agent Dawnie. I don’t know if my story’sall that…interesting.”
Murphy’s hands unconsciously beginfiddling with her hair. The doctors andagents of the Foundation—former or otherwise—have never been this cordial withher. She’d grown accustomed to herinteractions with the people holding her captive being limited to a few tersewords at best. Never before had onespoken to her outside of a test.
“I’m Murphy…well, D-414434. That’s what you people call me, I guess. Are you. Um. Here to interview me…?”
“Nah. I ain’t here to interview ya, Murphy.” She shakes her head. “Actually, I’m supposed to be in my containment cell, right now.” She smirks slightly.
“Containment cell? That’d make you…”
Oh.
Oh.
Murphy breaks out into a wide grin. “You’re an SCP! That’s so cool! I-I mean…well, I guess that’s not very cool for you, is it? Being ‘contained’ and all…” One of her hands finds its way back into her hair again, twining the strands between her fingers , “…I’m having some trouble getting used to it, myself. …Say, is it all right for you to be in here?” She points conspiratorially at the security cameras watching them from the ceiling of her cell. “I’d hate for you to get in trouble on my account.”

You look new. *Angelo slides onto the bench next to Clara, holding out a chocolate chip cookie. They've got a whole ziplock baggy full of them tucked under one arm* Have a cookie. They ain't poisoned or full'a razorblades, promise.
Murphy raises an eyebrow at theoffered snack, glancing furtively from the baggy to Angelo before taking thetreat.
“They…let you have food outsideof the cafeteria?”
She absently turned the cookieover in her hands a few times before breaking off a piece. Certainly no razorblades, but as to thepoison…No, she might as well dismiss that idea. There was something trustworthyabout the D class seated next to her, something that made the idea of thecookie being poisoned seem far-fetched. Murphypopped the cookie piece into her mouth, and smiled.
“…Thank you. It’s delicious. My name’s Murph…er, ‘D-414434’, I guess.” She swiped her hand against her pants to get ridof the cookie crumbs and held it out for a handshake.
“I’m kinda a special case,” they reply, waving off her concerns with a shrug and a sheepish sort of smile. “Technically, I ain’t even really s’pposed to be in this area, but spendin’ all day surrounded by researchers and gaurds ain’t really great for the social life, know what I mean?”
Angelo pauses, then snorts, wrinkling up their nose. “God, that makes me sound like I’m dangerous, though, don’t it?”
They snort again, waving it off and taking her hand. “I’m Angelo, by the way, and I’m not dangerous, promise. Not to you, anyway, although me talkin’ to you’s gonna make the docs nervous, I’m sure.”
“Nice to meet you, Angelo,” Murphy grins, breaks off another piece of the cookie, and chuckles, “I believe you. I don’t think you’re dangerous. I have a…bit of a sixth sense for that sort of thing,” She taps the cookie piece twice against her forehead to punctuate the statement before eating it.
“…I’m not dangerous either, for what it’s worth. At least, not unless I need to be.” She idly traces the burn scars on her hands with a fingernail, willing herself not to think about the fire.
“…So, a ‘special case’, huh? Is that why the doctors would be nervous about us talking?”

Designation: D-414434
Name: Clare Murphy
Profile: On █ █ / █ █ /20 █ █ , subject was convicted of the murders of █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ , █ █ █ █ █ █ █ , █ █ █ █ █ █ █ , and Toby █ █ █ █ . Only the body of Toby █ █ █ █ was recovered after the fire. When questioned about the locations of the other three bodies, subject responded “It’s too late; they’re part of the woods now” and refused to elaborate. Subject claims █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ , █ █ █ █ █ █ █ , █ █ █ █ █ █ █ , and Toby █ █ █ █ were “possessed by the forest” while the group was vacationing in a remote cabin owned by Toby █ █ █ █ ’s parents, and that when decapitation with an axe failed to incapacitate the “fungus zombies” they became she resorted to setting the cabin on fire in order to “stop the spores from spreading”. Investigation into the possible anomalous nature of these events is ongoing.
Subject appears to exhibit traits congruous with the ‘Final Girl’ archetype; resourceful, tenacious, genre-savvy, and possessing an innate ability to survive in situations where death seems certain. Furthermore, subject seems to possess inordinately bad luck, garnering her the nickname “Murphy’s Law” among her peers. It is as yet unknown whether this string of ‘bad luck’ and her subsequent ability to survive the danger it brings about stem from an anomalous source. Further testing recommended.
