plsmarleigh:
if there is something marleigh considers herself somewhat of an expert on, it’s the ability to conceal and hide her emotions. anxiety, sadness, fear.. it all remained hidden, dormant under an impenetrable mask of smiles and flirtatious remarks and glittering eyes. it’s an innate talent, but one also honed by years and years of practice, but as they say ‘it takes one to know one.’ the smile dallas flashed her was strained, his brow pinched together in a show of.. confusion? she tried to stifle the smile that tugged at the corners of her lips at his whispered request. they had enforced a strictly friends label on their relationship, boundaries falling into place where there was once endless open space. she never liked limitations. “no, i was just gonna head back to my room,” she nodded her head. “but i like your idea better. let’s go.”
though he knows they still can’t be together just yet, dallas can’t help the overwhelming desire he feels to be near marleigh all the time. they’ve been able to spend some time together in the days since their feelings have been placed out in the open, but dallas certainly isn’t as keen to hide his affections as he had been before, which is why he has no problem grabbing a hold of marleigh’s hand when she agrees to come to his room with him. a soft smile forms on his face as he interlocks his fingers gently with hers, even if he does feel weary from what he had just seen. he leads the way down the hall until he reaches the door to his dorm room, pulls his key from his pocket, and once he opens up, he leads them in, closing the door shut behind them. “so...” he starts, turning to face her after locking up the room again and turning the lights on. “you sure everything is okay?”
