Carrying while half asleep [♥]

The tiniest, nearly inaudible squeak escaped the girl’s mouth as she yawned. It took Aurora a good while to realize someone was holding her - and even longer to understand that it was actually her new master carrying her, arms under her back and knees. Her first reaction, naturally, was worry.

“I… I still have to clean the windows…” She let out an exhausted mumble while gazing up to his eyes. However, despite trying her best to appear hardworking, Aurora was unable to hold the sleep from coming. Her head pressed back against Rumple’s chest as she fell into a dream.

It wasn’t like him to cater to the help without getting something in return, but despite the darkness that devoured his once pure heart, he still had a few tiny remains of his humanity left in him. He picked his young maid up in his arms with ease as if she weighted nothing and cradled her close to his chest like a newborn babe. He would take her up to HIS sleeping chamber this time to let her rest.

He needn’t sleep, for he was the Dark One, but he DID have a bed he laid on whenever he felt… exhausted. The chamber he’d provided for her lacked a proper bed, a window and a torch. And with the upcoming winter, her weak and small body was certain not to make it. (he would need to prepare a warmer room for her if he wanted her company to last)

“Oh, yes. You have to.”

Cooed Rumplestiltskin in the most soothing voice he could muster. He paced up the stairs, magicking doors open as he went past them and into his room. He laid the young princess upon his bed, gently removed her shoes and covered her with with the satin and wool covers he’d spun.

“You have a busy day tomorrow.”
