My version of him may differ from yours. I don’t really follow 4231 canon, sorry. I can write him to be especially crude and sexist so as a disclaimer… mod is a woman, and just happens to love writing assholish characters. I promise I’m a nice person. Don’t take anything I say in-character seriously. LOL.

The Toughlifeverse is an off-site SCP canon created and written by myself (ihearthalflife) and @professional-tough-guy . Clever name I know.
Originally, we both had our own individual versions of the canon — but we decided to merge our ideas together as one, and now we collaborate to further the stories of the characters within. :)
Along with our own original characters, it also features our own spins on classic wiki characters. Most of their personalities, designs and backstories stay kind of the same as what you’re used to, but keep in mind, they do come with a few tweaks here and there. (Just like how any on-site canon might also have a differing version of a character.)
There is a lot deeper lore we’ve written and planned — this is just a very brief overview for people who are interested, but don’t know where to start.
So, without further ado, here’s the most basic info you need to know.
Setting
The Toughlifeverse takes place in 2009, somewhere in God-knows-where, New Jersey, United States. Site 97 is the base of operations for all the characters listed here.
Main Cast
Here, I’ll give a brief description of each original character from the Toughlifeverse. Each one has a roleplay blog of your own, so if you crave more info or just wanna chat with one of them, you can go right ahead! :)
Dr. Evangeline Marrow is a senior researcher in the biology department. Timid and a bit self-conscious, Dr. Marrow has a pretty constant nervous energy. Marrow often overworks herself in an attempt to impress those around her, even to her own detriment. Some would argue her actual title should be “site doormat.” Though, despite her quiet nature, she is prone to the occasional outburst. She always wears a shield over her eyes to prevent others from being affected by her anomaly; eye contact with her could lead to some very bad things.

Dr. Jonathan Squires is a senior researcher specializing in quantum physics. Originally from a different timeline, his “death” there somehow landed him in this one — and made him unable to die. Even in the most dangerous of circumstances, he seems to have an absurd amount of luck in getting out alive (…save for a few injuries.) He has an avoidant personality with very little patience for others, preferring to keep to himself and focusing entirely on his work. Squires is incredibly paranoid and has zero trust in others. This paranoia causes him to fixate on collecting as much background information and data on his coworkers as possible.

Apple Hatchet is a maintenence worker a janitor an IT technician a coffee boy a paper pusher your FAVORITE coworker. They can do just about anything you need! All you need to do is ask. Nobody knows how they ended up here. They’re known for constantly having a smile on their face, even in dire situations. You really can’t find a friendlier person to work with!

Dr. Brian Convex, also known as SCP-963-A, is the former head of the Foundation’s optics branch. In 1907, a lab accident involving anomalous gamma ray photons made him the way he is today — an immortal human conscious that takes the form of electromagnetic energy. Carefree, hedonistic, and a little flirtatious, he’s quite the loud personality with a zest for life. Like Squires, he enjoys keeping a very watchful eye over everyone. It’s easy when you can go anywhere you please. And he’s so fucking blue.

Agent Harvest, real name Ruairí Darach, is a Foundation field agent. Originally working at a site over in his home country of Ireland, he transferred over here not long ago. He can come off as a little sarcastic and maybe a little vain, but it’s all in good fun. At his core, he’s kind-hearted and lovable… if a bit naïve.

Dr. Alto Clef - @dctraltoclef
Formerly a member of the GOC, now current director of the Foundation’s Training and Development. A pretty mysterious individual with an eccentric, sometimes harsh personality. Has a habit of twisting the truth, so don’t expect the same answer twice.
Clef wants Squires dead so bad. The latter’s immortality won’t stop him from continuing to try and find a way. Oddly, Marrow seems to tail him often, despite his general aura usually pushing women away.
Dr. Simon Glass - @officehoursofglass
Formerly a field agent, now the Head of Psychology. He provides therapy for most of the people here… with one exception. Don’t ask him (or her) about it. Fond of baking and taking care of plants and Clef. Probably the only person other than Apple who makes an effort to be kind to Squires. He’s a sweetie. Surely does nothing questionable ever.
Dr. Julian/Jules “Iceberg”* - @icebergsinferno
Weapons expert, assistant to Gears, stiiiill waiting for a promotion. Kinda egotistical, a bit reckless, and honestly a little obnoxious. Just a little. Enjoys gaming in her free time. Reaaallly enjoys talking to Dr. Marrow… at least she did until recently. Off topic, is anyone else craving sushi?
*Seen a little confusion over the TLverse’s Iceberg’s gender, so to clarify — our Iceberg is a (closeted) bigender transfem and uses both she/her and he/him pronouns!
… And with that, that’s a pretty basic overview of everyone and everything. More lore, story beats, art, and random tidbits can be found throughout both me and PTG’s blogs.
We’re usually both open to questions, though we have answered quite a few already as well.
We sometimes utilize a tag like “lore important” on some of our roleplay blogs to highlight facts about each character. I also make use of a “storytime” tag on my own blogs to catalog the longform roleplays we do — which we try to format like a readable story for y’all to enjoy and follow along with!

Lucky decided to bring him a gift today though, a small leaf, it was a really nice leaf. It had the colour shifting thing going on, where the tip of it was starting to go orange. The pom pom held it out for him to take, waiting for praise.
