It was with ease that Salem's door now held the bodies of two guards. Marvin didn't hesitate upon stepping through those doors the moment he saw the headline on his phone - he cursed even on the job, but now, he stood before them. Staring with eyes aglow and fingers grasping their face to hold still, to take in their emotion and thankful to only feel ire and irritation rather of fear, guilt, sadness.
His lips press to their forehead, inhaling the warmth they held and moved to brush thumbs over lips before pressing mouths together. A soft kiss, but firm, as his ire grew with the protection corrupting into wrath. "I will return, love. Wait for me..." He was too angry to stay and relax, instead - his gaze shuddered pitch black, his throat sparked in flame inside growing and his skin ashened, blued at the lips as his element of the sea came forth.
"Marbhaidh mi iad." Inhaling a shaking breath, the equine of the dark waters hisses at the lips - turning his darkening daze towards the door as he released his lover from his palms. Voice haunting in it's mutterings of death, drowning and cursing that human that dared touch his Phoe. To think they'd have the audacity... "Dè cho dàna dhaibh suathadh, eadhon smaoineachadh, eadhon --- bàthaidh mi beò iad."
The moisture in the air felt cold, almost icy, a wind from somewhere was picking up and the sound of bubbling oceans in his wake. The two guards out front shivered, trembling as they knew not the anger their Boss was given off but it was as if Death itself was upon the doorstep. "Lorgaidh mi iad agus marbhaidh mi iad."
Later on the news, would it be seen to that a body was found - broken at the spine, drowned in a puddle and suffering several ruptured organs from inhaling said water. A mystery, but not one to be solved any time soon.
bottom lip is taken between teeth, head nodding as salem watches their lover, knowing that someone's last night had gone out like the solid gong of a bell. however, the last thing salem needed was bodyguards, especially two who seemed to be just as stubborn as their boss. and truly, what had they expected? that marvin wouldn't see the news? that their precious and protective equine would just let things be ? of course he wouldn't, but the irritation deflates once he leaves, the taste of his lips linger on salem's mouth. even worse, salem wants to find marvin, to bring him back so all that protective fury could be channeled into something more sensual. it would be easy, except the phoenix knows better.
just as quickly as marvin left to take care of the one who put their hands on the phoenix, salem find themselves in their big bed, dressed in one of their lover's shirts, inhaling his scent with a sigh. it's hard to be mad when someone wants to take care of them and yet salem would have rather had marvin right here with them. rising from the bed, golden hair is brushed back, moving toward the window, palm pressed to the cool glass. worry isn't prevalent but the longing for marvin's touch is. golden strands billow with the frigid air coming through the window, peeks of a myriad of colors going through them.
mismatched gaze shutters, recalling the news report and they're amused. their equine was not kind to those who touched them, and why should he be? a shiver races up their spine, goosebumps erupting along their flesh then marvin's body was at their back, hands turning them to face him. several emotions flicker across their features before salem reaches up to cup their lover's features and draw him down, mouth brushing across cool lips. marvin's eyes still glowed but salem wasn't afraid, no they were elated that he'd come back, even if hours later. hopping up, legs curl around the other's waist, mouths meeting once more, tongue tasting and the sweet sound of satisfied sighs as the night pressed on. the world could burn, and salem would be none the wiser, all that mattered was that marvin was home, curled protectively around them and the phoenix snuggled into him more, letting slumber take him.
