The blog will now probably focus mostly on Shouto and the Todoroki family in terms of analysis.

1. Spoilers 

This blog is not spoiler-free. I am a manga reader, so anything up to the latest chapter is fair game. Leaks will be tagged bnha manga leaks  and I also tag bnha manga spoilers. So if you don’t want spoilers, blacklist those. Though anime onlies who want to stay unspoiled should stay away from this blog altogether

2. Asks

I answer quite a big number of asks. These are tagged c1a asks . Make sure to blacklist the tag if it annoys you. Anon asks is usually on, I sometimes turn it off for my own mental health. i imagine them encountering each other in shouto’s food healing trips and just talking about food

How exactly do you think shoto's life was spent since his mother was taken to the hospital from entering UA? We don't have much information I thought he was completely isolated from his siblings ,outside world. But it doesn't seem that way bcuz he did go to middle school (?) and Fuyumi seemed to know him...? And at which point of his age ,do you think he stopped using his fire? Given what I thought of Endeavor, I assumed he would force him to use it somehow through abuse ,but that didn't seem to happen ? I js want a accurate analysis of their relationship at that time period and also how Shoto lived in those 15 years?

What is confirmed in canon is:

He lived in a different part of the house than his siblings, who lived with the housekeeper

He ate his meals alone mostly and they were approved by Endeavor

Fuyumi started to take over the running of the household and cooking when the housekeeper retired (we don't know when)

Natsuo barely interacted with Shouto - first because he wasn't allowed, later because of Touya's memory

Shouto did attend middle school but probably had to train before and after school. He had no friends. He also seemed to get a lot of shit about being Endeavor's son given how he reacts to Inasa.

After some hesitation, he decided to go to UA and wanted to get in with only his ice.

He had no significant free time - he's never been to festivals, amusement parks, and never watched much TV/ listened to much music. Like all basic childhood / teen experiences are missing.

We don't actually know when he stopped training his fire. My guess is around age 10-12. Endeavor couldn't force him - like Shouto was his "masterpiece", he would never risk seriously injuring him and he had no leverage over Shouto - he already took everything Shouto cared about (his mom, his freedom, his choices, his playtime, his relationship with his siblings...)

I kind of view Shouto withholding his fire similar to some teens with eating disorders. It denies a crucial part of himself, but it's his only way to exert control. And it's also his only way to deny Endeavor something back after his father took so much from him.

I think Shouto still trained, but ice only, and it became a kind of stand-off between him and Endeavor. And I feel like in the last 2 years or so, Endeavor was in a wait-out-his-rebellious phase position.

Fuyumi probably became a kind of caretaker for Shouto (like buying him clothes, making sure his diet was observed, showing up for school things, keeping tabs on his whereabouts), but it's also obvious that they are not terribly close. She is closer to Shouto than anyone from the family, but it's still not a very open relationship and they communicate only about practical things at that time.

The first Light Novel also alludes to Shouto being difficult in Middle School and getting into trouble - and Fuyumi covering those teacher meetings, but I don't know if it's just early characterisation. Though I have no difficulty imagining him being fairly rude, a loner and someone who gets into fights from time to time.
