How to Take Pictures Perfectly In Sims 4
You know when youāre going to take a picture of your Sim with the gameās camera and itās super off-center, or you want to take a picture with the Sims at sea and the camera canāt get there? I will solve your problem
Obs:Iām using google translator because Iām Brazilian
Ok Some things are required or recommended:
1-Frame Override by @peanutbutterjelly02āĀ I highly recommend using this mod because the photos are much more modern and without those rough framesā
2-Ravasheen Camera
that gives you total control when taking pictures (you can use the ones from the game but I highly recommend it)
3-Tripod (Moschino needed Or Download the Ravasheen Base Game) is not mandatory but recommended because we will have to move the camera at different heights
4- RECOMMENDED: MOD TOOL
Step One: Possibly you are doing this with family poses, couples or just your sim! So get the pose ready and letās go to photo time!
Step Two:Choose the best position for your photo to be, all this in camera mode that is activated by pressing Tab on your keyboard!
Now you need to Press a number from 5 to 9 together by pressing the Ctrl key on your keyboard! Ex: Ctrl+5, this will save your camera position, so if you press that number again with Ctrl it will save another position!
Here a demo!
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Id6uke1wwsJGqiZwRHeW0rWJZDc4DXl-/view
Step Three: After that we need the Camera, weāll paste it on a surface in case Iām going to use a Tripod and then weāll take the picture and press only the number you saved!!
By clicking directly on the camera it will be in the default position
So you will click on the number you saved earlier, ONLY THE NUMBER, WITHOUT CLICKING ON THE CTRL!
Another Demo:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-faHUGCmuPtNMGW35xeQvKmAeAMgZY6Y/view
And ready!! You can also place the camera directly in the sea with the help of the Tool mod, or place it together with the tripod in a space that cannot be dragged directly!
And if you want to save several different positions with the same pose just click on another number 5-9 different from your previous number!!
Here is an example of how my photos look!!

Stopping Shadows from Showing Through A mesh
@floppant was having an issue where the SSAO was projecting through their mesh when it should have been cutting it out from view. This seems to have become a problem since the last patch, so I helped out and found a solution.
This may not work for all meshes as I have seen a few people saying this is now an issue. It is worth a shot though and might resolve the problem.
Note: this is designed for creators not downloaders are it requires some knowledge of the warehouse section of S4S to navigate and change values.
Basically the method is:
Open the package and go to the warehouse tab.
Find the model lod entry with a group ID of 00000000. Click on the data tab then the edit items button.
Navigate to the phong mesh group then the material resource and click the edit items button.Ā
Find the variantID for your object (not the ones with default in the name) and click the edit items button under materials.Ā
Find the SSAOIntensity setting. Change from 1 to 0.Ā
Save and repeat for other variantID entries.
Save to exit all popup and repeat for other lods.Ā
Save then test ingame.Ā
Hopefully this helps a few creators out there finding out their meshes are doing this weird thing.Ā
sforzshade ā cas edition by sforzinda
i received an ask regarding the reshade preset i use in cas screenshots, and i decided to tidy up the two that i use most and upload them! as far as reshade presets go, they arenāt anything fancy but eh, maybeĀ ānot fancyā is also your thing and youāll get a use out of them. (for reshade v4.9.1)
disclaimer: i forgot how to share reshade presets and the chances are i might actually be sending you an excel spreadsheet idk. maybe excel spreadsheets are also your thing? in that case, click on the read more.

i'm seeing a lot of clay hairs with like, insane poly (but still crunchy in game) and i beg you to lower the resolution on your curves. it saves you decimation time and your hair looks pretty much the same after
you don't even have to go as low as 4 but ffs, don't leave it at 12.
this is quick to show size (bc them edges aren't creased or anything) but details from 1 will be backed into 2 with a normal map and just texturing.

š¹Make sure whatever changes you made to one LOD, remember to change the other LODS too.š
š¹ADDTIONAL NOTE: the shaderās property is important too. A InstancedPinwheel shader without a proper SpinAxis/SpinPoint/SpinSpeed will not work as well.
ā ļøCORRECTION:Ā changing other objectās shader into InstancedPinwheel somehow makes an object invisibleā¦sorry. Iām not sure was it changed over patches or did I remember something incorrectlyā¦anyway: Use Fan as base.

Posing Sims in 2022
Iāve come to realize there are some tips and tricks that have popped up this year that I didnāt know, and maybe my fellow Sims 4 Simmers who use mods and poses didnāt know either.
First:
You can use Lot 51ā²s Fashion Authority mod to add pose accessories temporarily even one they are all ready posed ā no loosing all your posing progress to drag your sim all the way into CAS anymore if you donāt want to!
The mod: https://lot51.cc/mods/fashion-authority
SurelySims awesome Tweet about using this mod for pose props: Here
Second:
Wicked Whims ā yes that one mod we all think about for the adult interactions ā has a pose player functionality built into these days that lets you rotate, move, and elevate sims once they are posed. Going into Build Buy Mode doesnāt pop them out of their poses, either!
There are a lot of settings you can toggle in the Wicked Whims mod if you really donāt want it affecting the rest of your game play much, you can absolutely set it up that way.
The mod:Ā https://wickedwhimsmod.com/download
I couldnāt find a tutorial while looking today, I hope you can!
āHave fun, guys!
Okay guys, hereās a mini tutorial I thought Iād whip up in the dead of night. Iām very tired so sorry if thereās spelling errors. If you have any questions, just ask BTW. So, anyway, this quick tut is for retopo-ing MD meshes with Zbrush and Blender in a way that preserves the UV islands so you donāt lose the nice neat UV shape that MD generates. Ready? Okay.
You will need: Marvelous Designer Blender Zbrush
Note: This tut doesnāt cover how to use these programs. You have to already know that.
Okay, here we go.
1. Make your mesh as normal and export from MD. Iāve called mine top.obj. Here it is.
2. Now highlight all, right-click the 3D garment and chose Reset 3D Arrangement (selected)
3. Export this from MD. I called mine topFLAT.obj
4. Import FLAT version into Zbrush.
5. Under Geometry tab, ZRemesher, hit the ZRemesher button. Depending on your mesh, yours might be fine to export with the default settings. For mine, however Iām going to lower the Target Polygons Count to make it lower poly.
6. When youāre happy with the poly count, export your mesh. I called mine topFLATretopo.obj
7. In Blender 2.79, import all three obj files. You can go ahead and tick the eye button to hide the original MD mesh and the FLAT version for now. First we will do things to the FLATretopo version.
8. With the FLATretopo version selected, divide the window so that you have the 3D version to one side and the UV/Image Editor to the other side. Now you can ender Edit Mode, Mesh -> UV Unwrap and Project From View to get the same UV island shape that MD generated. With that done, return to object mode.
9. In the Modifier tab chose Surface Deform. Set the target as the FLAT version, turn the Interpolation falloff up as far as it will go (16) and hit the Bind button. Now you can hide the FLATretopo mesh.
10. Unhide the original MD mesh and the FLAT version.
11. With the FLAT version selected, switch to the Object Data tab. Under Shape Keys, hit the plus sign. āBasisā key should appear.
12. Now you must deselect everything, then select first the original MD mesh and second the FLAT version. It is important they are in that order. Once you have selected them, hit the little downwards arrow to the side of Shape Keys and chose Join as Shapes. Another key should appear, named the same as your original mesh.
13. Unhide the FLATretopo mesh.
14. Click on the newest key and slide the Value slider all the way to the right. The FLAT mesh and the FLATretopo mesh should morph into the position and shape of the original MD mesh.
15. Select the FLATretopo mesh and hit Apply on the modifier to confirm the movement. Then you can delete both the original MD mesh and the FLAT version. You donāt need those anymore.
16. Now you should have a final mesh that has a nice topology from what we generated in Zbrush as well as a neat UV map, plus itās still in the shape as the original garment you made. It isnāt finished yet, however. Now you need to close up the seams, fix the UVs for TS4 usage, and make everything pretty.
Note: I personally start this next step by Shading Smooth in the 3D window. This will highlight the seams that need fixing. If the item is symmetrical, I find it easier to just delete half of the mesh and use a mirror modifier while I work on it. It cuts the workload in half. Now I just go around the seams and close them manually. It doesnāt usually take very long once you get the hang of it. I also bind all my repetitive keys to shortcut keys (eg. Merge, rip, cut, loop select, etc) so itās quicker.
When the FLAT version is still flat, you can also edit the topography directly onto the mesh to make sure the seam verts will match up. You can also remove any unnecessary loops easily as well as adding extras.
Anyway, thatās all for now. Hope it helps some people! :) Have a nice weekend.
hi um not 2 be annoying, but this visual overhaul fixes that weird mxao thing where sometimes itās either too heavy or too light depending on the angle of the camera
