Because of this giant BTS American Tour cluster fuck I kept seeing a name come up:Ā āNadiaā. So I did a little research and here are the several red flags Iāve found.
Her Facebook profile states sheās 26, born 1989, and is the Managing Director at TGM Entertainment and CEO/Founder of TGM Events.Ā
So you had a 26 year old in charge of throwing fan events for one of the biggest K-Pop acts out there? And not even for one city but spread out ALL across the nation?
Unless she grew up under the tutelage of an event organizer all of her life, coming out of college at like 22, 4 years is NOT enough experience to be the LEADER of an event like this. But after doing some digging via FB her FIRST production was in Nov 2013 under KPOP United. In May 2014 she started TGM EVENTS. So only half a year since her first production she started her own company? So not even 4 years of experience after collegeā¦itās less than 2 years of actual hands on experience.
Apparently the organization was fucked up, the sound was fucked up, and this isnāt the first concert they messed up, and in fact the past two concerts that they SOLD TICKETS FOR, still have not refunded peopleās money and only a few people have seen returns after threatening to involve the police.Ā
SHE ASKED PEOPLE FOR MONEY.
What kind of an event company asks its possible future attendees for fucking seed money via crowd funding? She asked for a WHOPPING $300k and only got a few hundred dollars short of $17k. WHAT? They say that theyāre only looking to raiseĀ āhalf of what they needā butā¦NO? Why is AN EVENT COMPANY ASKING ITS ATTENDEES FOR THAT MONEY. It means this company doesnāt have the money to throw these events because they have not made A) revenue or profit as a company B) do not have investors or C) got in way over their heads and started a company with no money.
Thatās fucking ridiculous. If you canāt fucking find the seed money to run a company to DO what itās supposed to do, throw a professional event, why the FUCK did you start this company in the first place? Why the fuck are you claiming you can throw events all across the United States and also Canada and parts of Southeast Asia (I read somewhere theyāre blacklisted now in one of the countries because of ANOTHER event fuck up).
WHAT DOES THIS COMPANY ACTUALLY DO?
This is their website. Itās a very basic and simple web design, like even half a day on Squarespace could produce better results. But is this even a real company?
Nowhere on the site can you find out what they actually do, proof/highlights of their previous work and previous events, and a general professional aura about them. Their Facebook offers this description:Ā āTGM Events is a global concert production house headquartered in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia and Los Angeles, CA. The team behind this production house is as diverse as their locations with an international team that hails from Dallas, Texas to Manila, Philippines. The focus of TGM Events is to revolutionize the concert-going experience by providing top-notch quality productions that is centered around growing the K-Pop community.ā Pretty words but vague and donāt actually offer insight into what they actually do besides being aĀ āconcert production houseā.
And if you look at any available media, from 2015 all you see are photoshopped posters. From 2014 you see a few photos of fans positing with their group and then a bunch of cellphone camera photos. Really? You couldnāt hire a photographer? A friend with a DSLR? Like what kind of a poor marketing is this? If it was me, I would have high quality images of all the events but not just HQ but also WELL TAKEN photos, and then a videographer as well to cut a sizzle reel to advertise your fucking company instead of digital flyers and cellphone images.
And Nadia claims to be the CEO of TGM Events but a Managing Director of TGM Entertainment. So thereās a distinction? Is Events a branch off of Entertainment? Then again, what the fuck does TGM Entertainment actually even fucking do? How do they make a fucking profit?
But this is all Iāve dug up on my own. Iām not a BTS fan but I donāt like people getting ripped off or people getting in way over their heads and fucking people over. I donāt think this girl Nadia is a bad person or is purposefully trying to scam people or give them a terrible experience, but she DOESNāT KNOW WHAT SHEāS DOING.Ā
I donāt think fans should be organizing to sue someone so young with a whole life ahead of them butā¦what other option is there if theyāre not refunded their money? And even if they are refunded, this is not even the first or third time that TGM Events has fucked fans. How will this company ever learn and stop taking away the contracts from an event company who can actually throw a proper event?
Just please look into all of this. Itās just all a bunch of giant red flags doomed to fail from launch. Sheās too young, this isnāt a legitimate companyā¦
Shit, itās another fucking Dashcon.
Basically posting because I donāt want SEVENTEEN or any other K-Pop group to ever fucking go through this and for any other fan to endure this shit from TGM Events.
