How many more things are we gonna retcon from avatar (TLAA & TLOK) Like I didn't watch the second avatar all that much, me and my mum where super fans of the first one, but the second one is just kinda meh, very underwhelming, but I am aware of stuff through online discourse and how divisive the second show is. But man seeing the AAng movie, which I did like but i couldn't really scape the spirit world retcon anymore, while I do love it visually I do preffer the more mysterious but far more grounded version of the first one where they're more like guardian spirits sharing their world, it's pretty similar to beliefs about spirits, like not fully our world but in it. Then there's the Tenzin stuff that got criticized because it felt odd for Aang to play favourites I was, like eeeh I kinda see it i kinda not see it, and hardly anyone counts that katara IS THERE and she damn well DOES NOT STAY SHUT IF AANG FUCKS UP, maybe she does and I'm mis-remembering but hard to believe a character that does try to do better consistently even if he does fuck up not try and do better with his family, specially being with katara... But the movie... has aang letting go of the fact that his people died and there may not be a comming back so why not preserve the best of it and teach the values to other people regardless of ethnic origin. So he makes peace with it.... which makes the bad dad a bit of an even harder sell for me now. and there's probably other details that I am unaware. aaaaahh Idk man, I did not expect avatar to become a longer running franchise brain hurti, mestay with first show and play funni videogames
