Peggy Carter and Steve Rodgers

**WARNING! SPOILERS FOR CAPTAIN AMERICA: Civil War ****

No Marvel. Just no. The film was great in all aspects besides Steve’s love life.

Peggy Carter loved and honoured Steve her WHOLE life. Peggy Carter kept a picture of Pre-serum Steve, because that was the man she fell in love with. Him, first, before he become Cap’. Peggy Carter EMBODIED everything Steve Rodgers represented. Peggy Carter risked her life time and time again, perhaps recklessly in some cases, to do what she thought was right. Without the support and faith, in the beginning, that Steve had from her. Peggy Carter took so long to attempt to move on, and even then, I’m positive (if we get a season 3 of Agent Carter, and we should) that she would have still struggled with her loss.

Peggy and Steve are probably one of the best written couples of all time (on screen that is, as I know Peggy in the comics is not as main a character as she is in the MCU). Peggy and Steve have something incredibly special, something pure. Peggy and Steve are home to each other, they are “the right partner”, they are the compass guiding each other. Peggy and Steve have a chemistry that is undeniable.

Steve Rodgers is the scrawny dude with the lion heart. Steve Rodgers is a guy who got thrust into a world he doesn’t know. Steve Rodgers has PTSD. Steve Rodgers is loyal, and loving.

SO NO HE WOULD NOT FUCKING GO HITTING ON PEGGY’S NIECE WHILST HER BODY IS STILL WARM.

HE WOULD NOT CRY CARRYING HER CASKET ONLY TO YOLO AFTERWARDS

HE WOULD NOT KISS SHARON CARTER MERE DAYS AFTER SAYING GOODBYE TO THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE

And quite frankly, regardless of the comics, you don’t get to reduce Sharon to simply his love interest. And you don’t get to give him a new love interest with only a few minutes of foreshadowing in the previous film. And you don’t get to pretend that his actions after the funeral have nothing to do with him dealing with Peggy’s death. And FOR THE LOVE OF GOD YOU COULD HAVE GIVEN US HIM KISSING HER GOODBYE ON THE FOREHEAD BEFORE DYING. Something.

No Marvel. Just no.

FYI: this is nothing against the character of Sharon Carter. And I totally think it’s equally wrong to make HER kiss him, after her beloved aunty has passed away. It’s just weird and wrong.

Sunday Morning

You slowly began to wake up, the sound of rain hitting the window faintly in the background. You shifted slightly where you lay and Junhoe’s arms tightened around your waist, pulling you closer to him. You smiled to yourself, not wanting to leave his bed. Loving the fact that today was his day off, and you two had nowhere to be.

You rolled over, your faces inches apart. You giggled at his breath hitting your face. “June. Juneeee” He groaned and squirmed next to you. You leaned in kissing his lips, then proceeded to pepper his face with kisses until he finally gave in.

“Ok, I’m up. I’m up.” He peaked one eye open smiling at you, as you retracted your lips. “Good morning sunshine.” He smiled as he propped himself up on his elbows, running a hand through his hair then looking out the window to see how gloomy and wet it was. “Looks like we are stuck in bed all day. What a shame.” His arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you into his chest as he began tickling you. “June, stop. You know. I hate. When. You do this!” He continued his assault, smiling as you laughed uncontrollably. Once he saw tears in your eyes and you struggling to get a breath he let up on his assault.

“I hate you so much when you do that.” You held your stomach as you regained your breath, your ribs killing you. “No you don’t, you love me, admit it.” You crossed your arms and shook your head. “Nope. I won’t.” You flashed a pouty lip at him, only making him smile. “You’re so cute when you try to act upset.” He pulled you back into his arms, kissing your cheek.” You tried to fight him but there was no use. “I really need to work on that.” He looked at you raising an eyebrow. “Why? I like you cute, actually I love you when your cute. Actually, I love you all the time. I love you when you laugh, when you smile, when you first wake up, when you try and act mad but turn out looking adorable. You’re just so lovable, you’re perfect. In every way.”

He flashed a big smile and you lightly gave him a tap on the cheek. “Stop trying to butter me up, cause it’s not getting you anywhere.” “Not even a little bit?” He tried to give a convincing smile but it wasn’t working.

“Oh look at that, the rain stopped. Uh, what’s that? Oh I think Bobby is calling me, I gotta go sorry-” As you tried getting up Junhoe quickly pulled you back into bed, holding you close. You looked up at him smiling. “That trick didn’t work on you?” He smiled back kissing your nose. “Not even a little bit.”
