Many people asked us for a lockscreen tutorial and I made a video one, but I have troubles with uploading it so I’ll do a “text” tutorial or whatever and show you some examples of lockscreens. I use Photoshop CS6. if it’s helpful please like/reblog that post :)
- lockscreen with motion blur (click for example)
File > New File (size: 577x1024)
2. Open your photo which is supposed to be on your lockscreen.
3. Drag it so you can see both pictures.
4. Drag your photo onto your file.
5. Duplicate your layer and make the copy invisible. (click right on layer > duplicate layer)
6. Filters > Blur > Motion Blur (set settings however you like)
7. Make your duplicated layer visible again and erase the background.
8. Add effects, adjustments, filters, text whatever you want and you are done!
I used motion blur but you can use other blur options as well! :)
- Polaroid + blur background (click here for example)
1. Follow steps 1-4 from previous one.
2. Make sure your photo fills whole lockscreen. (if it doesn’t go to Image>Size and change its size and then drag on your lockscreen/new file again)
3. Filters > Blur > Guassian Blur
4. Go back to your photo now and change its size, (make its width like 400px or it’s up to you but less than 577px) and drag on your lockscreen.
5. Open a polaroid png (you can find them online easily) and drag it on your file.
6. Cut off parts of your photo which don’t fit into polaroid.
7. Add effects, text, filters etc and done!
- Blending (click here for example)
1. Follow steps 1-4 from first one.
2. Open another photo (for example a screenshot of tweet)
3. Drag it into your lockscreen.
4. Change Blending Mode from Normal to Darken/Multiply (it’s above all layers)
5. Add effects, filters if needed and done!
IMPORTANT: Darken/Multiply effects work only when your background pic is in light colours and second pic has a white background (like tweets).
- Collage Type (click here for example)
Honestly all you have to do there is find matching photos, if you have them you just paste all of them (or/and change their size if needed) on your lockscreen and cut them so they all fit, then you add filters and it’s done!
*Photoshop has hundrets of functions, try to
discover them and be creative! Don't make
lockscreens my style, create your own.
*Always save lockscreens as PNG file.
*Try to use HQ photos, they look way better than
photos with bad quality.
*Practice is the key.
! If you want your photos to look smooth and they aren’t HQ you can use a Topaz Clean (which is a plug-in and you can find it online as well) !
