Lunatics || Baekhyun x Heesun

“I think I’m adorable,” Baekhyun replied, deadpan. His words were a complete contradiction to his flat tone and expression. It was evident that at this point, he was just trying to rile the hunters up, to take out his frustration with the situation the only way that he could.
He watched the hunter crack his knuckles, unimpressed.
His eyes widened when the other captive suddenly stood and moved between them. Baekhyun was instantly on his feet as well, stepping forward as if ready to shoulder his way in front of the other man. Baekhyun could take a beating if he pushed these guys too far, but he wasn’t about to have a complete stranger take it for him.
The hunter’s shove sent the other man stumbling backwards. Baekhyun mirrored his steps, falling back in surprise before bracing himself and letting the man back into him, steadying him as much as he could given Baekhyun’s still-bound hands. “Are you okay?” he demanded, stubbornly ignoring the laughter coming from the hunters.
He wasn’t given much of a chance to get an answer. A rough hand curled around Baekhyun’s bicep and tugged him off balance. He had no choice but to stumble after the hunter that was dragging him towards the waiting truck. Of course, Baekhyun still shook off the man’s grip with a harsh jerk of his arm the second that he had his feet back under him.
When he spotted the truck, his expression twisted.
“An ice cream truck. Really?”
“I’m okay. Thank you,” Heesun replied, although the other was dragged away long before the words left him.
Thankful. Heesun felt thankful someone caught him before he fell, or else it would’ve added to his embarrassment. A laugh in his face still stung his soul. A bitter reminder that he was still weak even when he tried to be strong. The wound deepened when a hunter yanked him by his arm. His muscles might as well have been made of straw with how they threw him around.
The struggle he had put up amounts to little progress. He broke away from the hunter’s grasp only to be picked up once more and carried into the truck. The aggressive prods forced him to continue walking all the way to the back. He refused to sit on the floor. Though his freedom was up for forfeit just because he lacked the physical abilities to fight back, he still had some sense of dignity. He leaned against the cold metal of the refrigerator. Alone in the truck, he maneuvered his way around so the cloth tied around his mouth fell down to the base of his neck.
The patchy duct tape job on the window gave him hope that maybe he could get someone’s attention once the truck started moving. He looked from behind a large gap and saw of the other captive successfully pulling away from the hunter. Heesun genuinely hoped that the other would get away even if he couldn’t himself.
