ddxselene:
There was much to do. Even with the many wanderers that took to the streets, there were the occasional visits by those who wished to join and some who downright refused the offer. Selene did not push for it, as she figured those who knew of the offer extended would only take it when they found themselves in the most dire of situations. Often times, it was the scenario of being hunted, just like how Sookja came to them a little around a year ago. But she did want to make sure that those under Coven protection were well enough, even without her.Ā
āāI have not seen him in a while, have you?āĀ
āNo, milady.āĀ
That was what prompted the trip through the city, to search for one of their own. It was the scent that she followed by, as her powers did not allow the capacity to simply hunt down someone with her thoughts. That was something that another vampire of her level was more than capable of doing and that would have been more than helpful at that moment. She wanted to ensure the prosperity of the Coven and that the vampires continued to thrive, to live. Not be hunted down by individuals who blatantly ignored the agreement between Coven and hunters.Ā
Reaching at some point in the city, irked that she was unable to find the male vampire through sight, her and her guards decided it was best to call out his name in hopes that he would call back to them.
she preferred to not actively pursue her past. no matter how often she spends looking over those she once knew, her descendants and theirs, sunny would rather that she never come in contact with her past if she could help it. with a few rare exceptions, she knew nothing bad could ever come from disassociating herself from her old life.
she wasnāt rocket. she hadnāt been for over half a century. she was sunny now. and sunny wasnāt a heartless puppet anymore.
that being said, it wasnāt like she could always ignore the past. she still shared the earth with many she had come in contact with. even if she kept herself distant from everyone in general, they always seem to find their way into her direct line of sight. their calls didnāt help matters either.
sunny knew who it was before looking to her right in shock, eyes narrowing in slight questioning. what was the female doing hollering in the middle of the street like this? on edge, from what she could tell. anxious mostly. she could tell from the way she moved and heard it in her voice.
there wasnāt much distance between them. and she could see the woman as clearly as the woman could see her. so sunny continued to stare, watching with slight interest with what the fuss was all about. everything told her not to say anything, to turn and keep walking as if she heard nothing. yet of course, sheās gotten into the habit of ignoring her instincts as of late.
āand what do you think youāre doing?ā
years from now ;
āyou know,ā sunny says from her perch on the tree. itās often like this: sunny meeting up with harley at random places just because she felt like it. usually while the other was off on her own or on her way to somewhere. and this was a perfect opportunity. just out of the sense radius of her pack -- they could estimate where harley was but at least they couldnāt smell her. sheād rather keep it that way. sheās stayed under the radar for such a long time at this point.
āyouāre gonna need a plan for this blue moon.ā though she knows that harley had long since grown accustomed to blue moons, sheās sure, but tensions between hunters and the supernatural were rising. things were steadily getting worse and sunny found herself just as much concerned about harleyās pack as any one of the members (but god knows sunny has never stepped foot in the perimeter in which they could smell her).
she was the silent ghost, the one that looked over from the sidelines to make sure her pack didnāt make too much trouble. but this full moon meant that, once again, sunny couldnāt do anything to help. she was left on the same level as a human, but heightened with the conditions of a hunter. but sheād never go in, silver blazing against harleyās pack no matter how rowdy and unruly they were becoming.
ā...is it scary for you, soo?ā sunny asked, knowing full well that her heart leapt into her throat at the idea of harley losing control. knowing that if sheās left off with no better instincts of a wild animal, a hunter may come and kill her. still, her expression remained unfazed and her eyes trained on the younger from the treetop above.Ā āi wouldnāt know how any of it feels...ā not to experience it but raising jaidon as she has, she knows how high maintenance it was to care for another who was in the condition.
but how was it to take care of an entire pack while you were losing control yourself?

First impressions | ft. Sunny
Things are unexplainable, he surmises, thought recycling within the corridor of his mind.
Junhyung needs the justification to validate why he is doing what he is doing.
The initiative heās taking is something outlandish. While new opportunities seem synonymous with new hope, Junhyung has never experienced the necessity of either. He is content with repetition, monotonous hours aligning days whose diversity he actualized with subtle distinction ā maybe an additional minute spent warring morning resistance, maybe another drop of sweet cream and sugar cube to intoxicate caffeinated hazel foam. Subtle distinction; infinitesimal things because his preference in lifestyle is already banausic, penurious. There are lines he does not want to cross and the reluctance is a direct derivative of unvoiced comfort; normalcy is a necessity to him, it eases the navigation of potential warpaths, interjecting with memorized escape routes.
Junhyung ruminates until the pondering seemingly excavates his headspace and in its hollowness, he buries the wasted muse, materialistic particularities instead substituting the sudden absence. Did his shirt actually match and if so how well; did he need a coat or was that too excessive an accessory? The tips of two fingers had he buried into the confines of a fragrant bottle, adorning the slope of his neck with its scent and hoping the words āHello, I am Junhyung,ā would not end in fumbled catastrophe when they left his lips.
āHi.ā It is a lackadaisical greeting, one that contrasts what he had envisioned and promptly places him en route for failure. His fingers had not left the door handle until it can close itself noiselessly, and then his eyes begin to consume their surroundings. The interior color of the club looked like excitement; some fervent light scintillation complimenting low undertones of rhythmic bass that clustered bodies had lost themselves in dance to. āI applied for a job here? Itās supposed to be my first day.ā Another pause, Junhyung braving again the struggle of ambiguity as he speaks to what he assumes is an employee. āI think.. itās.. Sunny, that I talked to. My employer; I imagine I need to see her. Could you possibly point me in her direction.. or point her in mine? My name is Junhyung, I had applied for bartending.ā
A core impediment with the eternal life she wasĀ āblessedā with was her stunted youth. Though many would render it as a gift, Sunny saw it as a hinderance. Unable to grow, mature and develop like those around her, humanity turned into a thing to be coveted rather than a plague. Itās ironic how things turned out.
Sheās petite by nature; slim figured with accented assets, shorter stature and a youthful face (akin to a bunny, Trinity had once told her). It was the norm to be mistaken for someone younger. Sometimes even a minor. Yet the ethereal brunette had long since grown accustomed to the fact that sheād never look her true age as she could barely maintain the look of her perpetual age.
That gives reason to why while working, she tried to maintain a mature image. Dark coloured clothing that didnāt show off too much skin but accentuated her figure. Shorts that showed off her legs and thighs accompanied with heels -- mostly considering that she was around five foot one while barefoot. Her hair was pulled back to a messy low bun, her fly aways artfully framing her face to emphasis her dark makeup. Even with her rather mature and sexy ensemble she would still be mistake as one of the working staff or just another club attendee. She made an attempt. Thatās what mattered.
Due to her state of being supernatural she had long since noticed the approach of the male to her club. The new employee, no doubt. She wasnāt the one to conduct the interviews but she was the one to approve afterwards. He would adjust quickly (she hoped) so she figured to make an introduction herself to welcome him to a part of the family. āWelcome,ā she says calmly, offering a charming smile to ease any nerves he might have. Ā His words proved to be no surprise to her has (once again) she was mistaken as an employee. Sunny only offered a chuckle, brushing her fingers through her bangs once to even out the hair.
āMy name is Sunny Lee,ā she says in greeting. āIām not usually the one to conduct the interviews but I always meet my employees on the first day. Someone should have warned you.ā She gives a soft chuckle, turning around to motion towards the rest of the club around them. āShall we start your tour, then? I think itās best to learn about your work place.āĀ
I still love the people Iāve loved, even if I cross the street to avoid them.
Uma Thurman (via thelittleyellowdiary)
a distant memory ;
she lived her life in constant shadow (literally and figuratively). she couldnāt contact anyone she knew from the past. so she watched from a distance in silence, as companions fell in love, had children and eventually withered away. some werenāt so lucky and passed before their prime. in all, sunny has seen a lot of life and death. more than she would ever care for. and there was no way it was stopping any time soon.
it came to her attention that an old friend of her (also, literally and figuratively) was in the hospital. most of the time once she figured things like that out, she wouldnāt worry. possibly a minor injury for the most part considering there were no crashes or accidents she knew of. but this friend was old in age. if they were in the hospital, they were there for a reason.
sunny had to admit that she was tired of seeing her friends grow old and die. she was constantly reminded about humanity around her. yet the numbers of companions she had will only dwindle this coming century. human lifespan doesnāt surpass 100 years usually. even a rare number even get to reach past it. but this friend, she couldnāt leave alone.
under the cloak of evening was sunny able to go visit the elderly female. visiting hours were over in about three or four hours. she steeled herself, knowing fully well that her friend wouldnāt be youthful and jovial as they once been some sixty plus years ago. it wasnāt until she opened the door and entered the room that she felt like maybe she should come see the elderly woman at another time....
āiām sorry to intrude,ā she said easily, looking from the young male up to the elderly woman in the bed. her throat seemed to close up at the sight of her. she was reminded of their once happy childhood. growing up together -- sunny as her protector and doting unnie. she chewed on her bottom lip, averting her gaze immediately. she knew the woman would recognise her in a heartbeat. she looked so similar to how they were when they were younger -- instead she sported brown hair now instead of blonde.
āperhaps i should come back another time --ā

natural instinct ;
there were two things her mother had always assumed she wouldnāt be good at: cooking and raising kids. and although she hasnāt directly and completely experienced the latter, she does know sheās done a hell of a good job taking care of the young wolf that used to inhabit her house. and from even before that she was a decent cook. though she had to admit, her culinary skills had increased in order to care for jai. outside of caring for the wolf they were virtually useless but she might as well amount to several skills in her lifetime.
so thatās where the tiny brunette is left off doing in the early evening. in the kitchen, cooking the wolfās favourite food. bibimbap was something quick to make (at least she felt so considering time wasnāt really an issue for her). even as sheās cooking sheās keeping an ear out for the sound of jingling keys for his arrival. or a knock on the door if he lost his keys to the place he used to call home again.
she was preparing the plate, mulling over what to get for jai as a drink. even now, when he was grown and a foot taller than she was, she mulled over what was best for him. sunny knew she babied him a lot (a bit too much sometimes) but she had to. it felt almost natural to be this motherly to him and sheās sure if trinity was home, sheād nudge sunny to stop treating him like a child. trinity had always been the more sensibleĀ āmotherā of the two.
her eyes directed at the door the minute she exited the kitchen with his plate in hand. he was here, she could feel it. so she set down the plate of food on the table and walked over to the door, eager to great her baby with a wide hug and a toothy smile.

99 problems, this bitch is one
Thereās a bit of outrage running through him at the fact that quite subtly, Sunnyās called him an oblivious moron. Itās the first thing he registers (of course it would be). He can pick up anĀ āinsultā but not the scent of blood from a bottle, or worse yet the scent of a vampire heās been hanging out with for weeks if not more. His face flushes with pure embarrassment, an ironic display of blood over his cheeks and ears that would match in with red hues of spilled blood she worked on cleaning.Ā Unlike Sunny, Jojo was still vivid. He was staring at her, unsure of what even to say. He made a sound of anger, a minimal growl (how cliche), warning her to watch her words.Ā āWhy the FUCK should I be weary of finding blood in a friendās WATER bottle?ā He knows the fight is a lost cause, reallyā heās fucked up grandly, but that hardly means heāll drop things. His pride, as usual, wonāt allow it.Ā
Finally, his eyes focused on the white gleam of two pearly white fangs being shown off. His eyes widenedā a much too late realization hit. All this timeā had she been like this? He blinks, straightening up and away from the sink. At his full height he stands at 6ā²2ā²ā feet. Heās tense. He doesnāt understand how he was so unaware of it all this time, nor why on earth sheās so calm about things. Did she know what he was? She mustā he knows their kind always knows. Heās not sure how, but they just do. Heās never met one before, but then he thinks back to the fact that perhaps he has. Heās encountered the smell she carries before, but itās so faintā honestly, heād always figured she had an odd smell about her merely because she was lacking in perfume unlike most girls,Ā āI justā I thought you just smelled bad.ā He scrunches up his nose as his own blunt admission. Heās walking himself through the realization. He looks calmer now, but really heās as panicked as a child inside. Is she going to try to bite me? Absol says they like to do thatāĀ āAre you.. are you going to try to bite me now?ā He takes a step back,Ā āI wonāt let you, Sunny. I dont care if weāre friends. This isnāt what friends normally doā Are we, are we even allowed to be friends?ā The last question is whispered. He really has no clue how these sort of things work. He knows their kinds hate one another, but heās still not sure why exactly.Ā
Sheās working diligently as Jojo is there and basically fuming. She can just tell how tense he was, be it by her natural hunter instinct to have more heightened spherical awareness to be attuned to how he was in his current state. In comparison heās hysterical, growing at her as she calmly pours the water over the accumulating blood on the floor. Sunny hates to waste such good blood but sheās already well fed. Her cheeks are plump and hold a reddish hue, almost as if she was among the living once more.
āBecause Iām a vampire and I smell like one,ā she replied calmly, mopping up the soggy pink liquid with the mop. Her lips curled with distaste as the mop slowly stained with colour. Sheāll clean that later and use extra peroxide to get the colour out, she imagines.Ā āAnd no, I donāt stink. I use a lot of perfume actually.ā Or, in reality, she was just naturally alluring to those around her. Something towards humans that just makes her seem more normal but to wolves, she imagine she held a constant faint smell of decay because of her soul being rotten or some stupid folklore that surrounds why her nature scent is like that.
Jojo is getting defensive. Sunny could just sense it. The way he stands up taller, seems a bit more guarded. It was just something that screamed out to her in an instant. He was a bit frightened and ready to fight if need be. So the tiny brunette rolled her eyes, picking up the bottle and showing it to him.
āI donāt drink from the source, idiot,ā she explains with a small shake of the bottle.Ā āI either get blood from donation centres or from the hospital. I keep loads of it on hand. Iām not a fan of sinking my teeth into live flesh.ā The bottle was left on the counter again as she resumed her cleaning, trying not to be as fiercely sarcastic as she wanted to be. It was hard not to be. The situation was all too amusing.
Sunny put the mop into the bucket that was filled with water, watching as the blood diluted and stained the water as well. She sighed, the smallest hint of a frown on her face over the spilt blood. (Ā āNo use crying over spilt milk,ā her father would say back when the term was first being used).Ā āYouāre an independent person. You can do whatever the hell you want,ā she says pointedly, finally turning to the other with her hands on her hips.Ā āThereās no law against being friends with werewolves, you know.ā

Jojo would have told anyone he couldnāt ever remember being that thirsty in his lifeā that would, of course, had been an exaggeration, but heād have used it as an excuse regardless. Heād curse his thirst, blame his circumstance, but never would he blame others for it. Passing off blame was not in his nature; taking all the blame and hurting himself for it, was. Thankfully, the nature of this occurrence did not call for such extreme bouts of self-hate and depreciation, because this time Jojo actually blamed someone else.Ā āWHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?ā Thereās a foul taste in his mouth, and heās swallowed some of it. The rest of the mixture drips from his lips in a red, morbid display. It taints the ridges of his teeth, tinting the white expanse pink and red a he furiously screams in confusion and distaste. Heās spitting it all the ground and to his horror the copper-like taste and scent has overwhelmed his senses. Itās absolutely disgusting, to the point his stomach is crawling over and upwards. He swallowed some. His mind canāt seem to let go of that fact, and his stomach is already working on returning that which his body rejects. He runs to the sink, bottle dropped onto the ground with itās gruesome contents. Heās hurling everything into the sink and for the first time in his wretched life, heās thankful for the burning acid that overwhelms the morbid taste of blood as he returns his Mickey Dās and the foul drink.Ā He can feel her behind him. Heās rinsing his mouth with water from the sink, but he turns to glare at her. When he spits out the last of it, he turns his whole body to her. He towers over her small figure greatly, but thatās not at all what makes him so fearsome. His eyes hold a fierceness which could easily go with the rumours that surround him and his pack. He looks like he could kill, but at this moment his mind is processing that he is not the killer there, she is.Ā āWHY THE FUCK IS THERE BLOOD IN YOUR BOTTLE, SUNNY?āĀ
She probably should have emphasised how Jojo has a bad habit of just going through her fridge at random. Of course it was full of food at all times and she regularly restocked it to keep up appearances. It was usually full of foods that her long lasting and many of her human friends that came over asked if she was on the Bohemian health kick. She wasnāt, honestly. She just hated having to replace food so often when there was no real need to eat it.
Of course Sunny got those bitter senses of nostalgia often. Ones where she wished she could taste her motherās cooking once again. Though it wasnāt by her motherās hand, she would spend some time cooking it much to the annoyance of Trinity. And though her tastebuds were dull to mundane human tastes, she could still envision herself as the little human girl from not too long ago (well, compared to human vampires anyways).
And though the tiny brunette had told him not to go through her shit (namely her darkly coloured bottles) she knew damn well he would because he just grabbed whatever looked good. She swore for a wolf, he was pretty simple minded. What kind of wolf didnāt smell the blood in the bottle the minute he opened it? But that was the least of her issues.
āFirst of all,ā she started calmly despite the rather amusing display before her.Ā āDonāt spit out my blood. Itās hard to come by.ā Her monotonous tone wasnāt in correlation to her expression, which was far more amused than she could help. Also a bit of annoyance as he managed to dropĀ her blood all over the floor.Ā She grabbed the bottle from the ground, calmly licking the spilled iron-laden liquid from the outside of the container to clean it. Why waste good blood? Besides, most of it was on the floor and licking it from the floor was beneath her caliber. Her fangs showed through each time her tongue dragged against the side of the plastic bottle. There was no reason to be careful now that Jojo pretty much knew. Her pale skin was stained with blood, taking on a vibrant pink colour as she placed the bottle on the counter, moving to lick her hands clean next.
āSecondly,ā she added, sucking her pinky clean.Ā āIām surprised you didnāt find out sooner and thirdly--ā Sunny moved to grab a mop and a plastic container to fill with water. It wouldnāt do much but dilute the blood and stain the mop pinkish red but she had to clean this up before Trinity got home.Ā āHow the fuck did you end up drinking my bottle of blood without realising?ā
iām dead.
tips from the enemy ;
as a hunter, mingyu had his own personal list of likes and dislikes. he liked a target that would put up a fight. he liked a little blood here and there. what he didnāt like was losing his target, especially in the woods nonetheless. vampires, he could deal with. werewolves were a different story. trees impeded him while mingyu would chase his prey.Ā
āugh, so stupid.ā mingyu slammed his hand on a tree nearby and groaned. he seldom lost track of a target, but when he did, it bothered him to no end. was he that incompetent or was the prey just too elusive for him. he was, after all, only human, chasing after supernatural creatures.Ā
crossing paths with strangers wasnāt anything new. he also played off being in his hunter garb quite well actually. mingyu would just tell them that he was cosplaying or something like that and heād run along, but this stranger didnāt seem to question him. not only that, but she pointed to a direction of which he assumed was the direction his target had run off into. but the bigger question was why she helped like that and more importantly, who the hell was she?
āhow⦠did you know what i was looking for?ā he was still young, so he had a lot to learn as far as being a hunter goes. he could only hope that stopping right here and right now wouldnāt lead to his downfall. anybody could be a potential enemy and mingyu had no idea what she was capable of either.Ā
the hunter was young, no older than she had been when she first assumed the role as primary hunter of the family. sunny had a bit of an inkling that it must be hard for him even if he was in his prime -- young but still ageing. going through puberty and hunting was the worst but sunny could say it was much more difficult for a huntress.
she was amused with how he didnāt seem to question her presence in the woods. though whatever truth she told him would sound like a lie (the woods were nice, especially in the afterlife. you learn to appreciate the beauty more). not to mention his immediate distrust he would have if he were to learn of her status of vampire.
āitās obvious youāre a hunter,ā she said, referring to his...Ā get up. though in her days hunting was much more obvious and more humans were aware with the status of the supernatural. it was sometime in the 70s that everyone grew ignorant, and everything fell silent. and now here they were, on the thresholds of being known again to humans. god, that wouldnāt be fun now that she would be at the other end of the stake.
ābesides,ā sunny continued, running a hand through her short brown hair.Ā ānot many people are in these neck of the woods and you can literally see him running like hell.ā though she didnāt see him at all. she could sense him (or smell him? saying smell made her sound tooĀ wolfish). she knew where he was and what direction he was going so she figured it was all the same to seeing him, right? not like the human would care.Ā ādonāt think heās all that harmful though.ā
there was just certain things that anyone could tell. as a human or as a supernatural being. but that target of his was scared as hell. anything that scared shouldnāt be deemed a threat. yet judging by the speed and the time lapse between sunny sensing the first then meeting the hunter, that guy was long gone by now.Ā āi donāt think you should worry about him much.ā
