You make me sit beside you and place the takeout bags between us.
“Don’t touch anything yet.”
I smile, but keep my hands to myself.
You unwrap the first burger slowly, almost like you’re doing it just to make me wait. The smell hits me first—warm bread, melted cheese, something salty and greasy.
The first bite is soft and warm, the bun giving way immediately while the cheese stretches slightly between my lips. The sauce is thick and creamy, and I can taste the saltiness of everything underneath it.
Before I finish swallowing, you offer me a fry.
Crispy outside. Soft inside. Hot enough that I have to chew slowly.
You keep alternating between the two, watching me carefully as I stop paying attention to anything except your hand bringing food toward my mouth.
After a while, my belly begins to feel heavier.
Your hand settles over my stomach, rubbing the soft curve through my shirt.
“But you’re still comfortable?”
You lift the milkshake next.
The first sip is cold and thick, almost too rich after all the salty food. I feel it settle heavily on top of everything else.
My stomach pushes more firmly against my waistband now.
You smile when you feel it beneath your palm.
“Look at you. Getting so full for me.”
You pick up another fry and hold it near my lips.
That earns me a soft smile.
And I open my mouth again.
