I'm a little late but here is my piece for the art gift exchange for @fivevotesdown for @wwditsevents

I had a lot of fun working on it especially since I never do scenes in the dark so it was fun to try and figure out! I hope you like it!

There's a lot of (very justified!) talk about Nandor's face journey during the conversation about Guillermo's personal life in The Casino. But I admit that what really struck me the first time I watched the episode were his expressions right before that. First:

Now, this is immediately after Laszlo and Nadja call Guillermo a familiar and demand that he go and fetch a broom. Nandor glances at them and then gives Guillermo this look. And I remember thinking, even the first time I watched it, that Nandor is waiting for Guillermo to stand up for himself. He's watching him so closely and intensely, and I feel that he was hoping for Guillermo to refuse. Although I'm on the side that think Nandor wasn't really consciously testing Guillermo like he said in 3.10, I do believe that through season 3 he was waiting for him (even if unconsciously) to stand up for himself and prove himself as an equal, and this was the moment when I became aware of it.

After Guillermo relents and goes to fetch the broom, Nandor does that: (sorry, wish I could gif)

He's clearly disappointed that Guillermo didn't stood up for himself. He's thinking of calling him back but refrains at the last moment, maybe because he's in front of the others, or maybe because he wants Guillermo to be the one who refuses to be 'just a familiar' in the first place.

Also, I think that was the first time that I really saw that Nandor not only appreciates Guillermo, or relys on him and needs him, as we've seen on many occasions before - he truly cares about Guillermo's feelings. Look at him. He feels bad for Guillermo. He's sad for him. And for once, it has nothing to do with Nandor. Nandor doesn't need anything from Guillermo here, he just truly wants him to feel appreciated. And he wants it so clearly that his housemates actually indulge him, which they usually do only when something is really important for him.
