So the Avatar brainworms have gotten to me...but I'm still very stuck on Jwct....that left me with only one solution:
Ik, ik. It doesn't really make sense. I didn't think so either, but the more I thought about it the more I realized I could make it work. This isn't a set plan, but I really am hoping it'll happen. My main focus is my school and the other fic I have in the works, but this one most likely WILL HAPPEN.
So this is just a post about what camp fam's characters would be like in this Au/which Avatar character's arc they would have. Also I just need to get my idea's down.
(I will be changing the names of Ben, Brooklynn, Yaz, and Sammy to be names that would be given to Na'vi people. I debated having Gia in here, and I really wanted to add her, but it was just going to be too much to incorporate her. Love you Gia. Next time.)
The plot is going to be VERY similar to the actual Avatar movies. Just with different characters...and a lot of other differences but the main difference is the characters.
Darius and Kenji are gonna share parts of Jake's arc pretty equally. Darius with kinda be a mix of Norm and Jake. Kenji is gonna be Jake if he was a privileged nepo baby.
Due to Kenji not having had the experience of finding a true and loving family as a teen, he won't be as gentle or soft as the Kenji we know is. He's still gonna be Kenji, just with the roughness Jake has (especially older Jake). Kenji is gonna be a good father in this, and will be nothing like his own dad, but he will be hard on his children. He expects a lot from Xi, and will be really hard on Kat'ya (Katies Na'vi name - I just decided not to change Xi's name bc Kenji wanted his child to have a name reflective of his human heritage.) He's gonna be a lot like Jake parenting wise.
Ben'te (Ben) and Brook'linn (ok i don't even have to say it. not doing that again yall already know) will share Neytiri's arc....but Ben in very few ways. He is going to be entirely different, except for the fact that he is going to be Kenji's mate. Brooklynn is going to be veryyyy much like Neytiri. Her own personality traits, but she's going to be a warrior, and she is going to have Neytiri's hatred of humans that we see best in the second and third movies. I'm going to have a "You already chose between your people and a human. I'm human. Do you hate me? Do you hate your children?" scene between she and Darius, like Jake and Neytiri in the third movie.
Tuk won't exist, but will instead be replaced by Etsira (Estrella). Different character completely, but she's gonna be the cuteness factor (much like Tuk). Kiri however will exist as Brook and Darius' adopted daughter. Instead of Grace, Kiri will have been born from Dr. Mae Turner's Avatar.
A Spider -adjacent character will exist, just not Spider himself. Kenji's half brother, Daniels son. A human orphaned by the war blah blah blah. Raised by Kenji and Ben'te.
Yazira (Yaz) is going to be Brook'linns best friend. She's also Ben'te's best friend. They're a lil trio. She and Sammy (who is going to be Sa'miya will meet, just later on. Sammy is going to be the Tsahik of the Metkayina (reef Na'vi for those who don't know), although she doesn't have a mate. Which means that Sammy and Yaz are gonna fall in love (of courseeee). And mate. And have a baby. But that's all I'll share.
Ok so I thought really REALLY hard about this one. I wanted to adhere to the actual canon of Darius being on the aro spectrum and my headcanon that they're kinda soulmate - platonic fuck buddies who eventually have a child together....BUT I JUST COULDNT MAKE IT WORK. Darius will still be on the aro spectrum in this, and he and Brook won't be nearly as romantic with each other as the other pairings, but they will be very affectionate (which lines up with how they are in the show anyways). And they will mate. Bc it just won't work if they don't. The conflict won't be there.
btw mate is basically like Na'vi marriage for yall who aren't familiar with Avatar. Ik it sounds funny.
(these next descriptions are just when the characters are first introduced in the fic)
The son of Colonel Daniel Kon.
Became a Marine at 18, his father convinced (lowkey forced) him to take part in the Avatar project when he was 22. He was put into cryo when he was 25, so by the time he gets to Pandora his mind and body are still that age.
Arrogant, entitled, driven by his need to impress his father.
Does not respect the nature and balance on Pandora. Ben'te despises him at first, Brook'linn hates him even more.
Feels invincible in his Avatar body. He has physical prowess over his father, and for once he's regarded with more respect than his father when he enters a room.
Honestly likes Darius, but hates him when he gets onto him about "respect and preservation and blah blah blah"
Doesn't know shit about the Na'vi. He was the only soldier chosen for the program, and his training was purely physical. He came entirely unprepared mentally. Which would've never flown if he hadn't been the Colonels son.
Was a gifted student his whole life. Insanely smart. Was offered the opportunity when he was 17, and after weeks of thinking it over, he said yes. He had nothing left to lose. His brother and mother had both died the prior year, and his father had died when he was 11.
He was 20 when he went into cryo. He was prepared. Was almost fluent in Na'vi, and knew lots about the planet (though not everything).
His job (at least what he was informed of) was to collect and test samples of plant and animal life. In hopes that vegetation and the longevity of animal species on earth could be restored.
Ben'te is wary of Darius, Brook'linn is unwilling to teach him. At first. Brook'linn soon becomes intrigued, and eventually enamored with him. He's the first sky man she truly sees good in.
The daughter of the Tsahik and Olo eyktan of the Omatikaya people. (her dads, but they won't play a big role)
She is set to be the next Tsahik, and she is to be mated to her betrothed. She does not wish to be Tsahik, or to be mated to the man. She wants to explore, travel across Pandora, hunt with Yaz and Ben'te. She loves Eywa, and respects the work of Tsahik, but it is not a responsibility she wishes to carry.
She lost her arm when she was a young girl. She got shot by RDA soldiers after destroying equipment, and her arm had to be amputated.
She hisses and growls at Kenji A LOT.
She knows the least English out of she, Ben and Yaz.
Choice weapon is a spear or a knife.
Lost his father to the sky people when he was 7.
Is always ready to set something on fire with Brook'linn and Yazira.
His Ikran's name is bumpy :)
Loves to sing with Brook'linn
Hates Kenji with a burning passion. Tries to avoid even looking at him. Ignores him almost completely at first, unlike Brook'linn who literally slaps him straight across the face when they first meet.
The best hunter/warrior of the clan. She and Brook'linn come close, but ultimately she can take practically anyone in a fight.
Very protective of Brook'linn as well. She was the one who pulled her half alive body back to home tree and since then she's always kept one eye on Brook'linn.
Likes riding horses more than Ikran.
Like Ben, she lost her father to the sky people as well, except when she was an infant. One of her most prized possessions is her fathers songcord. They bond over their fathers.
Calls both Kenji and Darius "skxawng" (moron/idiot) every other sentence.
Knows the most English out of the trio.
Always keeps Ben'te and Brook'linn grounded when they get ahead of themselves.
She's slightly different because IF this fic happens, she won't come in til much, much later. By the time she comes in Benji and dinostar will already have children. They will have banished the humans and been subject to their return to Pandora by the time Sammy comes in.
She's Tsahik of the Metkayina clan. Sweet and loving, but when it comes to the balance of life and Eywa, she doesn't mess around.
No mate, she leads alongside her brother who is Olo eyktan.
Her spirit sister is the light of her life (one of the Tulkun)
She welcomes Toruk Makto (Darius) and his family with open arms. Her brother is less accepting. Despite her acceptance of Darius and his family seeking Uturu, she despises Brook'linn. They just cannot seem to get along. Constantly bickering, insulting each other, and hissing at each other. They have a respect for one another regardless.
She's drawn to Yazira the moment she sees her.
