as another Dredge enjoyer, would love to see one! (there's not nearly enough love out there for the Druanee ;w;)
thank you for the request !! (*´ ˘ `*)
A/N — you could argue that this isn't romantic BUT. Druanee feeds on fear, it could be seen as a sign of affection if it goes out of its way to seek out your fear and your fear only !!!!!
DREDGE x ANXIOUS GN!READER ♡
Summary — Druanee finds you during nightfall...and your exaggerated reaction amuses it.
tws: fearful reader?, I'm not sure if there's anything else.
You were always fearful of Druanee, or as others call it, The Dredge. The abomination formed by dark and negative thoughts had personally taken a toll on you each trial, for you were incredibly prone to negative thoughts.
It was nightfall. Wonderful. You fidgeted with your hands, nervously walking around in search of the final generator. One survivor had already been killed, which didn't help you at all. You tried to keep your distance from lockers out of pure dread of what may happen if you don't. However, being able to lock them helped ease your fear.
While looking for said generator, you stumbled upon a pair of lockers. It wouldn't hurt to just lock it now, right? Maybe that means there's a generator nearby. Hesitantly, you reached for the lock. Your hands shook, feeling for the lock. However, just as you went to lock it...the doors of the locker burst open, an abyss of darkness lying inside.
Hands reached out, and the dreadful...head?...of the creature looked outside of the locker. Druanee's singular eye peered down at you, taking in your fear and uneasiness. You screamed, much to its delight. Druanee thrust you into the locker.
That's what you wanted to scream, at least. You were frozen in fear, your eyes frantically searching the darkness inside the locker. It was cold—unnaturally cold. The creature stared. You struggled to make noise, a lump forming in your throat. Hands grasped your body, making it hard to focus on one thing.
However, Druanee didn't carry you to a hook the moment in had a hold on you.
As if it was basking in your fear.
Wails sounded from the abyss, deafening your sense of hearing. Eventually, you were able to move again, and you tried to fight back. You struggled, squirmed, clawed, tried anything to escape the tight grip of Druanee.
Suddenly, it was as if the moans and screams were silenced. Instead, they were replaced with sighs. The creature's head slowly inched closer to yours, as if to get a better look at you. You knew The Dredge fed on fear, but this seemed different.
Not only did it enjoy your heightened vulnerability, but it was interested.
You frantically pushed back, your back slamming against the wall of the locker. Druanee observed, its hands holding onto you tighter.
Another hand slowly made its way out of Druanee's fog. It made its way to your neck. You turned your head away in a desperate attempt to avoid everything that was happening. The moment the hand grazed your neck, you let out a yelp. Druanee shrunk, as if to express pleasure. It enjoyed seeing you like this.
The hand moved back to the endless void the Dredge contained. Now, Druanee's head moved closer to yours. It examined you silently, the echoes of wails returning. Finally, you found your voice again.
The Dredge almost seemed...amused by this question. It didn't move, it didn't tighten its grip, it just stared in silence—if you ignore the cries bouncing off the walls of the locker.
Your voice shook, trembling breaths escaping your mouth. Suddenly, Druanee's head nuzzled yours. You stared in dread and confusion—Dredge enjoyed that.
Then, Druanee pushed the locker doors open. You were held under what you assumed was supposed to be an arm. Nightfall was still lingering, but it was eerily quiet. Did everyone already escape? Was I there for that long? You were consumed by fear once more, your eyes darting around as if to find a teammate. The thought of being the last one standing horrified you to your core; it always did. Druanee must have noticed, for more sighs escaped the fog, which were quickly overlapped by more wails.
Suddenly, you were on the ground. You squirmed in confusion, your arms frantically feeling the ground beneath you until you felt an opening under you. You looked around, but Druanee was nowhere to be seen.
As you escaped the dreadful darkness, you couldn't help but feel more curious about The Dredge.
Thank you for reading ~ (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و
