Blick studio low fire glaze. Blends between Indigo, Sunflower, Candy Apple, and Black. Glazes do not appear to blend well on tile, may have to premix. Black and red in particular seem to become muddy.

Upper right is Indigo glaze over Amaco velvet teal underglaze. Glaze did not seem to significantly impact underglaze, but it was only lightly applied.

Candy Apple on top, candy apple over bright red velvet underglaze on bottom. Appears nearly identical except that top is slightly translucent.

Amaco velvet underglazes, electric blue, teal, and turquoise and combinations thereof. \/ indicates combination of above colors (combinations appear very similar to one another in color, sort of denim blue). Double lines on central test areas indicate overlay of same 3 underglazes in same order. Turquoise + teal appears very similar to plain teal.

Amaco watercolor underglazes, sets 108 and 111.

Top: blue green, black, maroon, with white on top (half with clear glaze). Underglazes appear to be mostly opaque on top of one another. Some trouble with white smearing under clear glaze.

Bottom left: wc underglaze, dark blue (appears light purple without clear on top), rest of 108 palette. Good gradation between yellow and green, green and blue-green unfortunately seem to become muddy when mixed. Blue green appears to fire dark. White is largely invisible on white clay.

Bottom right: same as above with dilution and stippling tests.

Wasp painted bowl, watercolor electric blue underglaze with white wc underglaze plus clear glaze. Painted on abandoned bowl.

Wasp bowl, red and turquoise velvet underglaze on white clay with clear glaze. Red underglaze spread to other areas during underglazing process. Underglazes appear very opaque when layered on top of one another.

Unfired glaze and bisque appearances.

Greenware appearance. Wasp antennae broke during transport and had to be reformed.

Fish incense burner with unknown celadon glaze or underglaze, possibly plus clear. Deliberate light application, areas sponged away. White clay.

Heron bowl, teal velvet underglaze with wash of blue green wc underglaze (not visible on piece). Too much clear glaze resulting in plasticky appearance and milky buildup in crevices. Design not easily visible.

Glazed scaled fish bowl, unknown glaze, possibly wc underglaze or velvet underglaze. Fired undesirably streaky and with insufficient clear glaze. Turquoise velvet underglaze, possibly with blue-green wc wash? Mocha clay.

Greenware appearance.

Gator/ snake cups, glazed with watercolor underglaze (dark green/ black mix) plus clear on mocha bisque. Slight cracking in base of one cup that seems sealed by glaze.

Testing for hair, settled on gluing to inside of hat. Hat made from hat block and brim separately. Horse tail used for hair. Clothes dyed with acrylic, resulting in stiffened and sealed fabric). Weathered with sandpaper before and after painting- sanding afterwards produced "bleached" look, before required finding grain of fabric. Difficult to construct coat, required 5 mockups. Life size patterns of coats unhelpful, modeled pattern through trial and error and observation of photographs of costumes. Clothing glued down in layers to body to secure shape.

@slabmangrave's The Teeth is finished! After sixteen coats of paint he's sufficiently sludgy and ready to be a huge dickhead to everyone for fun. Not entirely happy with how some parts came out but he was a fun lil dude to make 💀🦷 He's super sculpey and acrylic with a wire armature and gloss gel/ medium additives, about 5" tall.

It's everyone's favorite lil man! He's made out of sculpey, paint, and acrylic additives. Wow! Better pictures tomorrow that aren't of my desk 🦷
