“… Indeed. We have not searched the entirety of this Sector, but as you said before…it seems to have little to offer us at this hour. We will move on.”
The alley they had emerged from just a few minutes prior had let out near the train station, conveniently enough, so there would be no trouble in getting there; and more than that, it would offer Alcor the opportunity to rest his leg, despite his apparent lack of exhaustion and insistence on its insignificance. Yes…it was a solid course of action, and one that would likely benefit them more than simply wandering the streets and running the risk of encountering those hound-like monsters again.
Bearing this in mind, Miyako looked in the direction of the station, and started walking.
The train ride into the neighboring Sector did not take long–half an hour at most–but Miyako nevertheless found herself appreciating the respite it provided. The majority of the other passengers, sparse as they were, were mostly quiet, and it was without incident that she and Alcor arrived at their ultimate destination.
“… My lodgings are relatively close to the station. If we happen to pass an open drugstore, however, I would like to make a stop there.”
It was more likely that they would in this place, now that she thought about it. Sector 5 had been described, after all, as “the shopping district” by many she had passed in recent weeks, on more than one occasion. Given her newly-adopted frugality, however, she had never paid it much mind…
Well, there was a first time for everything, she supposed.
They rode in relative silence, something that Alcor was still wounded by, but he did not attempt to push for conversation this time. Miyako had fought a battle and ran halfway across a Sector on his behalf, and would most likely like the time to recuperate. It was with that in mind that Alcor fell uncharacteristically silent...
As it turned out, there was a drug store in the immediate vicinity upon exiting, and as Miyako selected the medical supplies to choose from, Alcor simply lost himself in the aisles, intrigued by the wares the store provided.
Completely losing track of the time and where exactly they were, it was only when Miyako came to fetch him (drag him out, really) did Alcor finally leave the world of retail.
After quite the walk (or maybe it felt that way to Alcor, who had to take slow and limping steps), they finally arrived at Miyako’s humble abode. It was...quite small, and quite the contrast from JP’s massive facilities, yet Miyako seemed to be adjusting well. It wasn’t as if she was foreign to hardship, after all.
“Ah... So this is your home. It’s quite lovely.”
He meant every word of it too, though as a worldly vagabond, human occupations always seemed nice and cozy.
