Byte is a duelist bursting from the US, her life altered by a failed experiment that merged her with glitching digital energy. With a distorted laugh and erratic movements, she disorients enemies, destabilizing their senses while struggling to control the unpredictable powers within her.
(C) Phantom Byte – Signature Ability
She creates a glitched clone of herself that moves forward, mimicking real movement. If an enemy shoots it, the clone pauses, turns toward them, and laughs in a distorted tone before exploding in a burst of glitch energy.
The explosion scrambles enemy vision (like static/screen tearing) and briefly distorts their audio.
If ignored, the clone simply fades out after a short duration.
The laugh starts as mocking and human, then glitches into a robotic, corrupted sound.
She activates a short burst of speed, moving faster for a few seconds, like a charged sprint.
The effect is similar to Neon’s ability but with a glitchy, erratic movement. The faster movement leaves behind a distorted afterimage that flickers briefly before disappearing.
The ability has a cooldown meter that depletes as she uses it, and once the meter runs out, she must wait for it to recharge before using it again.
Byte drinks from her canister of soda, giving her a brief boost in movement speed for a few seconds. The boost is subtle, providing just enough speed to reposition or escape danger. The glitchy aura around her fades quickly after the effect ends.
(X) System Overload – Ultimate Ability
Corrupting Aura & Glitch Field:
Enemies within a certain radius experience extreme screen tearing and audio distortion, causing their movement and actions to become sluggish. The longer they stay near her, the worse the effects become, making it increasingly difficult to track or react to both her and their allies. Their visuals and sounds become garbled, causing confusion and hindering coordination.
