i’m so gay for women who take up space and wear stompy boots and flannel and are loud and i think more of them should make eye contact with and then marry me
EMERGENCY COMMISSIONS
Hey guys, I’m so sorry for asking for help again. I just lost my job today, and until I don’t get another one I can only rely on my commissions incomes.
I’m not sure how long it will take me to get another one. I’m worried about not being able to help my family back in Venezuela as I was expecting to send them some medication that is currently scarcing in the country along with other basic goods that they have difficult finding.
For more info you can e-mail me at [email protected] . Please no dm’s.
You can also buy me a ko-fi or suport me on patreon
Any kind of help will be really appreciated <3 Please reblog if you read this!! Spread the word! SIGNAL BOOST
more ridiculous things i’ve done for writing:
- weighted a grapefruit in my hands to see if i could justifiably describe something as “weighing as much as a grapefruit” - done jumping jacks for 5 minutes straight so the memory of how exertion feels would be fresh in my mind - googled images of butterscotch to see if “butterscotch” could be a hair colour - casually stared at people at bus stops trying to figure out how i would hypothetically recreate their image in words - written 7 different beginnings for a story to see which one i liked best - gone to venice - enthusiastically spoken dialogue aloud to myself to see how it sounds - tried to read 3 books in one day - experienced terrible things, reacting with “i can write about this” - screamed incoherently at someone for turning on the tv while i was in the room, writing - sat there perfectly still staring into space trying to imagine what getting a boner feels like - “hey re-enact this scene with me” - sat upside-down for ten minutes trying to get my brain to work - squandered schoolwork and free time alike for years - written
I’m alarmed by how familiar some of these feel to me.

Characteristics to make your OC more original without the classic “red hair, pale skin, different coloured eyes”
Webbed fingers
One toe/finger missing or adding one
Scars! Give them memories
Body mods - even though it sounds pretentious, it’s seldomly used bc of that reason. Give them piercings, gauges, tattoos, implants etc etc
Make them LGBT+. Not to make them “special” but to make them normal. Not everyone is cishet on this planet, make your story a realistic mirror of reality.
A small illness that shows at inconvenient times. Anaemia, a slightly crooked spine, you name it.
Naturally dark undereyes
Crooked/yellow teeth - it’s natural for some people no matter how much they brush em. Also healthcare isn’t affordable everywhere
Flat feet
Instead of a resting bitch face - a resting sad face. Or thinking face. “Wow, what are you thinking about?” “Uh.. that my lucky charms this morning may have already expired last week.”
Knowledge about really weird things! Architecture in the 20th century, the army, submarines, contemporary art
Little habits: chasing pigeons, greeting the news reporter back when he says “good evening” (these are more for younger characters), having to scratch the other side of their face if theyve scratched one side already
Having pets: bunnies, geckos, spiders, snakes, mice, rats, birds, chinchillas, fish, frogs, turtles
Give them a name with a special meaning, maybe even relevant for the story. But for the love of god leave the spelling as it is. Dont make maikayleighah out of mikayla.
Also, names like, skye, skylynn, raine etc do give off a certain :/ vibe
Make them religious!
Make them break gender rules
Note that you can still do whatever you want to and even if your OC is a ginger named ginger then thats totally fine - its your story. These are just preferences of mine
I hope this helped! Feel free to add on
“Character who looks dangerous but is actually harmless” and “character who looks harmless but is actually dangerous” are both well and good, but consider: character who looks dangerous, and actually is, but for a completely different reason than they look like they should be.
And no, I don’t mean like “guy who wears robes with a water motif is actually a fire wizard”. I mean like “seven-foot-tall mountain of gleaming muscle with sword the size of a surfboard strapped to his back is actually the Nine Realms’ most feared lawyer”.
Hiram McDaniels, a nine headed dragon wanted for insurance fraud.
seeing somebody’s domesticated wizard: wow, I love how well maintained and sleek his beard is! what product do you bathe him with? and what a lovely, clean, and silky robe… does he know any spells?
seeing a feral wizard in the wild: absolute running for life because it smells the raw ground beef in my knapsack
op i have a question
So I’m doing a project on modern witches and I’m looking for some statistics. Please reblog this if you identify as LGBTQ and practice some form of witchcraft!
it is pretty hard to find solid statistics on wolf attacks, but as far as i can tell, wolves in north america kill way way way less than one person a year, which means that forces more deadly to us than wolves include: dogs, ice fishing, and getting crushed by a falling flat screen tv.
…further complications to trying to write non-ridiculous angst into a werewolf story
“you don’t understand…i’ve done things under the full moon that i can never take back…one time i ate a squirrel”
“I SNIFFED MY OWN BUTT. THE INDIGNITY HAUNTS ME STILL.”
“i have pooped in the woods and now must go brood about it. don’t try to follow me.
…and seriously, be careful around your flatscreen, it is probably heavier that you think.”
European wolves (before they were hunted into extinction in most areas) attacked humans purposefully a lot; it’s in the historical record.
North American gray wolves have a natural fear of humans and attack people very rarely, really only when threatened or starving.
So like, imagine, like, a divide between people who got infected with Old World and New World lycanthropy. One makes you this dangerous beast that sees humans as a viable food source an another makes you perceive humans as a threat. Imagine people getting it wrong!
Some shady paranormal group capturing a werewolf to use as security but it just runs away when people trespass.
Some hunters go deep into the woods to murder a werewolf clan for their pelts but it turns out they’ve isolated themselves so deeply because they have the European strain and none of the hunters survive.
New werewolves are so confused because the websites give conflicting advice: get yourself to your nearest national park when you’re about to turn and just let yourself run free; if you try to cage yourself the claustrophobia and the smell of people will make you panic and you could really hurt yourself or someone else.
vs
If you’re anywhere near human civilization you must make sure you turn in a closed space that you can’t escape from in wolf form or you’ll definitely kill someone. Just try to take a nap during the full moon, OK.
And they’re like, WHAT DO I DO WHICH ONE DO I HAVE?
updated position: at the end of the day, there are, in fact, a number of possible compelling werewolf problems.
case in point, the global werewolf cultural divide!
on the subject of the global werewolf cultural divide, another update, per wikipedia:
Wolves from different geographic locations may howl in different fashions: the howls of European wolves are much more protracted and melodious than those of North American wolves, whose howls are louder and have a stronger emphasis on the first syllable. The two are however mutually intelligible, as North American wolves have been recorded to respond to European-style howls made by biologists (x)
that’s right guys: wolves have accents

THIS IS THE KIND OF CONTENT IM LOOKING FOR
I’ve never had a reheading go this horribly before. I’d say I’m pretty good at beheading- I may have broken a neck once or twice, but never any parts I actually liked or intended on keeping, and usually a reheading is the easiest thing, right? Just a little squish and a pop and done, a complete person. But this time it just- it just won’t go back on the body?? Which is incredibly frustrating but also, like, why??
And the funniest thing is, I’m not even swapping a head!! This is a curvy dancer head going onto a curvy dancer body!! They match!! This should have been so simple!! But no, this head’s just flopping around like a limp flaccid idiot and my hands are all red and sore now but the head just isn’t attaching all the way!!
Today I did six beheadings and two other reheadings, and I wanted to get this one attached so I could take a picture, but somehow it just isn’t working!! The head is just getting squished around but isn’t stretching over the neck right!! And I’m way too lazy to go and boil the head just to make the slip easier!! And I don’t wanna keep forcing it cuz I might break something but this is!! So frustrating!!
Like, what could I possibly be doing wrong!! Fuck!!
I boiled the head and it popped right onto the neck in like two seconds.
I’m an idiot. Always do things the proper way from the get-go. Saves a lot of wasted time and struggle and ouchy hands.
BARBIES. I’M TALKING ABOUT BARBIES. I AM CUSTOMIZING TOYS RIGHT NOW I AM NOT A SERIAL KILLER AND I HAVE NEVER BEHEADED AN ACTUAL REAL LIFE HUMAN BEING OR TRIED TO REATTACH A PERSON’S HEAD BY BOILING IT
If victor Frankenstein had a tumblr
movie tropes that will never get old to me:
a thing happens + two people exchanging money in the back
fourth wall breaking
“give up all your weapons” and that one guy that spends the entire evening taking his weights worth out his pockets
*a terribly loud crash* meowing/ car sirens heard offscreen
alternatively: a terribly loud crash and one of the characters going “oops” in the most casual voice
“fuck you” “well if you insist”
#alternatively alternatively: *terribly loud crash w/ sirens and cat screeching*#person: *off camera* ‘I’M OKAY’ (via @zenlida)
character being all “you expect me to do X?” Gilligan Cut to character doing X
the squad gets captured and interrogated separately, and they’re all telling equally terrible, completely contradictory lies
people completely missing the completely unsubtle, very visible dangerous thing in the room with them
alternatively, people absolutely seeing the completely unsubtle, very visible dangerous thing in the room with them and just not giving a shit
bonus points if it’s a beleaguered minimum wage employee who just goes about their business like “yep same shit as always”
someone pretending they don’t know another character is eavesdropping, only to casually reveal at the end of the scene that they know (*leaving* “tell tom that he can come out now” *tom drops from the ceiling in spy gear, irritated*)
choosing to deal with the villain by just leaving them alone in a room with another character
the “hands go down” trope
example: “any questions?” *everyone’s hands go up* “…that AREN’T sarcastic?” *everyone’s hands go down*
how could all y'all forget “ACT NATURAL!”
These are all great but let’s not forget two characters giving extremely biased flashbacks to the same event that each paint the other as an incompetent loon
i would like to respectfully add: scenes where a character walks into a room, sees something scary, and turns around and walks out with no reaction or change of expression
Meryl Streep in Mamma Mia really was living the best life- owned a hotel on a beautiful Greek island, singing sweet ABBA bops, had a history of dicking down so many hot dudes she wasn’t sure which handsome, tone-deaf, middle-aged man was her kid’s dad.
what a life.
[Image Description: Tag reading “canon is an illusion and also for suckers except for the parts I like”]
The AO3 Tag of the Day is: This author is valid
Being a writer means referencing the character information you made up on the spot for an ask, because it’s more canon then all those notes you forgot to take.
And the award for Most Relatable Post of the Year goes to Bryn.
We could all use some good news today.
Lmao, good!
