Pictured below is American composer and guitar player Marisa Anderson, from Portland, Oregon. Marisa has just recently released a new album called "The Anthology Of Unamerican Folk Music (Volume 1)" on Thrill Jocket, in which she focuses on a mid-20th century archive of recorded music from the Islamic world, Southeast Asia and old Soviet Union states. In the liner notes to the album she explains that she wanted to focus on music from countries in US conflict zones. I liked reading the liner notes about the origin of the music, but I even more liked listening to the album, because it is simply amazing. And people don't call albums "Volume 1" if there's not more volumes to follow, do they? I'm very much looking forward to more of this. So I played a track from this album and I will play more of it next season, because yes, episode #154 is the last of the season, we're taking some time off and we will be back somewhere late August or early September. And I hope to see you then. Oh by the way, I've been thinking about doing my presentation for the next radio shows in English, how about that? What do you think?
