This is a sculpture project I recently finished. The assignment was called shelter, so I decided to show how I felt in mine. I took over 1000 pill bottles and relabeled them to say things people have said to me to cause me to take these pills. I wanted people to realize what bullying does to people. Let me know what you guys think.

Potent minimalist art sends a strong message about police and vigilante brutality in America
Journalist and artist Shirin Barghi has created a gripping, thought-provoking series of graphics that not only examines racial prejudice in today’s America, but also captures the sense of humanity that often gets lost in news coverage. Titled “Last Words,” the graphics illustrate the last recorded words by Brown and other young black people — Trayvon Martin, Oscar Grant and others — who have been killed by police in recent years.

Shiro Cosmetics Review!
So I never do make up reviews, despite having so. much. make up.
However, when I received my order from Shiro Cosmetics I felt like it was a good idea, wait no, I felt it was my duty to write a review because it’s the first indie brand I’ve bought from and it made my day when the package arrived.
Disclaimer: I’ve learnt two things from doing this so a word of warning:
I swear a lot.
I’m part bear. Like, for real, my arms are hella hairy. Is waxing an option? Shaving? I must make enquires.
Alright bitches, let’s do this.
Here we have (left to right) You Dropped Your Rod, Kraken and I Loved A Maid
You Dropped Your Rod (Lip Safe)
So Shiro describes this as a Metallic bronze over a black base, filled with brilliant golden sparkle which is pretty spot on. It’s hella pigmented and sparkly as hell. Based on Minecraft and their (annoying as fuck to deal with) Blazes, it’s a pretty good representation. Personally I wouldn’t sweep this on eye lids/lips/whatever, I would pat it on otherwise it just looks really smeary and stuff. It becomes way more matte if you do that. Don’t do that.
Kraken (Not Lip Safe)
This is from the Detrivore Cosmetics Collection and is described simply as a deep matte teal. I love teals so damn much so I’m probably biased when I say that I love this colour. The picture above doesn’t do it justice. It’s actually a lot deeper than pictured and the sparkles they put in don’t show without a flash. It’s one of those that can be swept onto an eyelid quickly and looks amazing.
I Loved A Maid (Lip Safe)
If I could buy everything from the Game of Thrones collection I would, and I’m glad Shiro gave me this one as a sample! I Loved A Maid is based on Tyrion Lannister and is described as “green-shifting gold shining out over a base of softened Lannister crimson”. I find this eye shadow to be super buildable for colour, as Shiro has a picture where the colour is rather soft, whereas mine is incredibly orange. It’s lovely and shimmery but is a natural enough colour that you don’t look like a disco ball, you know what I’m saying? (Being a Disco Ball isn’t a bad thing mind you.)
(Left to right) Punch Punch Pork, Porcelain and Malacath.
Punch Punch Pork (Not Lip-Safe):
Again, this was a sample from Shiro Cosmetics (All of the above three are actually, I had 5 samples, I’m so spoilt) and is based on Minecraft. Do I really need to explain the name? If you haven’t played Minecraft then you should. Whilst wearing this eye shadow. Described as a “velvety, slightly beige pink” PPP has the right amount of sparkle and is pale enough to pull off a kinda-natural-ish look. I’ve always been a little suspicious of pink eye shadow, because it’s either so bright you look like a barbie or so dull that you look like you’re ill. This is a sweet in between.
Porcelain (Lip Safe):
Pretty standard as far as pale eye shadows go, Shiro describes it as “pale matte pink-tinged cream”. It’s excellent for a transition shade on pale skin and buildable if you want the colour more pronounced. Some eye shadows like this (I won’t name any brands… they surely cannot handle the shame) don’t really show whatsoever. What if I want a white/cream on the inner corner?! This is my answer for now.
Malacath (Lip Safe):
Now maybe I was shit at swatching this, but Shiro describes this as a “deep matte beige-taupe” and it just doesn’t look very deep in the picture ya know? I’ll quickly try again. No… still not deep deep. But I’m not all into the taupe life, so maybe it’s for someone else who is all into the taupe.
(Left to right) Colonel, Cognitive Recalibration, Maiden Queen
Colonel (Not Lip Safe):
I have no idea about Fullmetal Alchemist. I should really, since I got two eye shadows from the collection, but I’ve never seen the anime. Is it described as a “military blue packed with gold sparkle” and is probably one of the deepest blues I have ever come across. It’s such an awesome colour I can’t even look at it without hyperventilating a little. I can’t pull off deep blue sadly, but I like to put some on my hand and stare at it, pretending I can wear it someday. It’s not really metallic like you would expect, especially compared to the other two in the picture, but it’s something different eh?
Cognitive Recalibration (Lip Safe):
I fucking love purples. And this is one of my favourite purples I got in my Shiro Cosmetics order. This is from The Earth’s Mightiest Heroes Collection (The Avengers, duh. Come on people) and is based on Hawkeye. It is so damn shimmery it’s amazing. It’s described as a “medium burgundy with a strong blue shift” but I wouldn’t describe it as burgundy at all. It’s more of a dark violet I think. I don’t really know what I’m talking about to be honest, I’m just making up colours. But I know that ain’t no burgundy. Alas, it’s fucking gorgeous anyway and if I could eat it I would.
Maiden Queen (Lip Safe):
Another Game of Thrones eye shadow! This time based on our favourite lady from Highgarden, with an eye shadow described as “the brilliant emerald of Highgarden, with bright aqua shimmer and golden-rose sparks.” When I got the sample I was a bit miffed because it looked so incredibly aqua and not at all like the Highgarden emerald as stated, but when I swatched it I took all the negativity that crossed my mind back and fell in love. It’s such a nice green, it’s hard to find nice greens. Yeah.
(Left to right) Second Kira. Mother of Dragons, Lingered in Twilight
Second Kira
This sadly doesn’t exist on the site anymore, but it’s a silver-purple blend which is really nice and metallic. I honestly do not know what collection this was a part of, so if anyone could tell me that’ll be swell!
Mother of Dragons (No Lip Safe)
Holy hell this is my favourite shade of eye shadow not only in the collection or my order but of ALL TIME. It’s so freaking amazing. If you don’t know what collection it is (seriously?) it’s Game of Thrones, based on Daenerys Targaryen. It’s described as a “silvered royal purple over a blood-red base” but mere words cannot come up how shitting amazing this is. If I could wear it every day I would. And most days I can. So I do.
Lingered In Twilight (Not Lip Safe)
Finally finally finally I have something to review from The Hobbit collection. Described as a “blackened blue and green with slightly metallic shimmer” it’s just the sort of shade where you can stare at it for hours because it’s just so interesting. Which can cause problems if you’re wearing it and people just stare at you. I like to put it on my hand and just move my hand around my room light to see all the different colours come up. I need some friends.
(Left to right) Not Very Effective, Task Force, Day of Reckoning
Not Very Effective (Not Lip Safe):
The one and only Pokemon themed eye shadow I ordered, despite LOVING Pokemon. Again, a purple, like all the three above. Purple addiction up in this crib. Anyway, it’s described as a “dark purple-black with gold glitter” and that pretty much sums it up apart from the fact the glitter doesn’t look gold at all when you put it on. It’s all rainbow-like. Pat this on to maintain the metallic look of it, rather than sweeping it on with your fingers or a brush. Unless you want it matte, which is cool too I don’t judge.
Task Force:
Doesn’t exist anymore. I think it may have been a Death Note collection thing. You’ve all missed out. This is an awesome shade.
Day of Reckoning (Lip Safe):
Described as an “intense, metallic deep burgundy”, this shade I would say is an actual burgundy, and one of my favourite shades. It’s so blendable and easy to mix with other shades.
(Left to right) Sanguine Addiction, Plague, War of Five Armies
Sanguine Addiction
Another that doesn’t exist anymore! This has a lot less shimmer than I Loved A Maid but has a similar colour to it. It’s a lovely shade, shame it’s not around anymore.
Plague (Not Life Safe)
It’s much better to describe this with Shiros description of “murky deep green base with bright emerald shimmer” rather than tell your significant other that you’re wearing Plague on your face today. It’s just something that raises a few concerns at first. It’s a dark green and looks amazing with Lingered in Twilight in my opinion. Really quite metallic when you pack it on.
War of Five Armies (Lip Safe)
Now this has to be one of the mysteries of the world or some shit because in the picture it looks brown. Brown. But in real life I swear on all that is good and holy that it’s got hella purple going on. Despite the description being “Near-matte, the darkened red-brown of blood spilled on earth” I can promise you all it looks purple. But wouldn’t photograph right. 2spooky4me (I also didn’t put enough on. I love the colour and want to use it sparingly.)
As a whole, Shiro Cosmetics is amazing. It’s a company based in America, so shipping all this to the UK was a bit of a daring feat for me really. I ordered this on the 22nd of October, and it arrived on the 11th of November which in really good time. It came with a thank you hand written from Shiro Cosmetics and candy, as well as 5 samples! All the eye shadows are amazingly good quality and very affordable. For 18 items the shipping cost was a flat rate of $7.50. I bought some Ghibli themed lip balms as well, and I also forgot to review the shade Steve because I’m rubbish. If anyone is truly bothered then let me know and I’ll be more than happy to review them! A huge thank you to Shiro Cosmetics as well, I’ll definitely order from you guys again!
I'll be doing some swatches/review of my Shiro Cosmetics order soon! ^_^ Hopefully I'll finish it tonight!
Herrow!!!
