The Pitt making everyone canon this season is killing me guys they were In Our Walls

Dana saying that Mel was talking to herself AGAIN and Santos walking out on a conversation with Mel AGAIN… my heart is breaking. Can we give my girl a goddamn friend?? Can someone look at her?? Was the part where Mel explains her malpractice lawsuit to Santos the first time she told anybody about it?? I can’t even be cringed out watching her jump over Langdon like a dog who hasn’t seen their owner in years because he’s probably the only one who understands her even a little in that damn hospital. My girl is DROWNING. I need her happy and seen and at the club in this season I’m so serious.

I realllllly love what they’re doing with Dana this season already. They needed to address her trauma and I wasn’t really sure how they’d approach it, but giving her a nurse that’s shadowing her is so apt for her character. At the end of the first season, you see that she is good at what she does and loves doing it, loves helping people, but is feeling burnt out and under appreciated. She’s been there decades and the most thanks she gets is getting punched in the ambulance bay— I don’t blame her for wanting out! But allowing time to show the mentorship opportunities on the nurse side of the hospital is something I never knew this show was lacking, and letting it shine through Dana’s arc is already perfect. They’ve already shown the importance she places on safety in the STAMP talk she has, and allowing her wisdom and experience to show her strength and how she deals with the hardship of the job is so perfect for her.

And to add to this with some speculation— the scene in the post-credits preview has her talking to a patient who says she’s really glad Dana was there today and Dana agrees. I’m thinking this could tie into Dana sharing some of her experience with abuse with someone in need? She loves helping people, and she heals in doing it and sharing her own experience. We are soooo back in da Pitt!!!!

while we're on the subject i think we need to talk about jack abbot's quiet panic when robby is on the roof. bc robby being in his spot is Not Normal and he's trying not to freak out. and yeah he does a great job keeping that shit under wraps bc he's literally trained to stay calm under pressure. but the alarmed look in his eye. the desperate way he jumps from comedic to heartfelt to argumentative, trying to find something, ANYTHING, that he can say to get robby to step away from that ledge. the way he leans against the railing, makes himself small. creates an intimate space that invites robby to open up to him, then demands unwavering eye contact while delivering affirmations. robby talking jack down is a given, almost routine. jack talking robby down is unthinkable, and he is terrified.
