A Frankly Alarming Shade of Pink: The TJLC Survey

Now seems as good a time as any to get this circulating - a TJLC demographic survey! I’m not sure if anything like this has been done before, but seeing as we are basically sitting ducks waiting for some more news, I wanted to get this out there. 

This survey is a series of 18 questions designed to get to know the people behind TJLC. It has two sections that will ask you about personal information (such as your age, employment status, and location) and your fandom involvement (such as your favorite Holmes adaptation, how you participate in fandom, and how long you’ve known about TJLC).

All questions are completely voluntary and anonymous, so please don’t feel obligated to answer every question. However, the more you answer, the more we can find out about what kind of people we are, and how each of these data points are connected! 

Personally, I would really like to see what kind of people are behind the blogs, so please spread this around to as many people as you can! Tumblr is a very niche community as well, so if you know TJLCers beyond this platform, send them the link!

yuri snorts. “you don’t.” (she does.) “that’s why you’re lucky i love your hips.” yuri grabs the hips in question, to demonstrate. “because when we retire, all that katsudon is going to go straight to them, and to your belly, and your arms, and your calves, and your perfect breasts, and there will be even more of you, and i’ll have to pin you down and kiss all of it.”

vika gasps, affronted. amused, yuri waits her out.

“how is it,” vika says, and here it comes, “that my wife always manages to compliment me better than i compliment her, when she is the perfect one?”

yuri blushes again. she can’t help it. “vika,” she says. it’s a full sentence, sometimes. (yuri’s favorite sentence.)

vika’s expression is so soft that yuri can barely look at her. “i love you. did you know?” vika says. “my wife. how am i so lucky?”

yuri is so in love that sometimes she feels she might shake apart with it. even now. even after three years. “only the best for the great viktorya nikiforova,” she murmurs, and kisses vika, and kisses her again.

Texas Mayor Comes Out As Transgender

“Society finally has a chance to see and learn about who we are."

Eight months after taking office, the mayor of a small town in Texas has come out as transgender.

“As your Mayor I must tell you about something that has been with me since my earliest memories,” New Hope Mayor Jess Herbst wrote in an open letter on the town’s website. “I am Transgender.”

She is believed to be the first openly transgender mayor in Texas, The Dallas Observer reported.

Herbst has been documenting her journey on the blog, JessHerbst.com. She told The Huffington Post that the reaction to her news has been overwhelmingly positive.
