also i’m very much over the heavily exaggerated distaste of season 3. it doesn’t have to be your favourite but this persona of acting like it was completely unwatchable is getting pathetic. i personally don’t rewatch the earlier seasons as much and have my own nitpicks about them but i won’t act as if i don’t see the appeal when people claim it’s their favourite seasons. it’s not my personal taste but I can respect it might be for others. a lot of the issues you hear people have about s3 i can draw similar ones for other seasons but again i’m not going to falsely exaggerate to push a narrative

Based off a few of the hints and the promo we’ve got so far I have a few predictions about what we’ll see happen lady whistledown this season. I think there will be some conflict between the queen and penelope regarding whistledown. From the new year’s resolution video nicola says penelope’s resolutions are to keep the queen entertained and to remember she answers to no one but herself. This makes me think we will start off with seeing the queen fangirl over lady whistledown but down the line we start seeing her interfering and I think it will turn into penelope having to cater towards the queen’s wishes and not liking how her work has been commandeered and she’s now sacrificing the authenticity of her work which will make her question the future of lady whistledown. This will either lead to her fighting for her independence of her work or she retires whistledown and shifts focus to writing novels as in romancing mr bridgerton.

In my opinion I could see her retire whistledown only because she used it as a defence mechanism when she felt unheard by her family, society, eloise, colin etc. whistledown was her voice and like she told colin last season he taught her how to speak up and be confident in herself and stand up for her wishes as penelope so she doesn’t need to hide behind the whistledown persona anymore. I think she could use her voice to write the romance stories she’s always wanted. Also it makes sense if it’s eloise’s story for season 5 which happens aways from the ton and london.

I think I might be right in my prediction because it is very obvious the queen’s interference is taxing on penelope. Also the consequences of being lady whistledown publicly is definitely playing on penelope to the point colin is now offering to save her from it. i’m intrigued and I think we might see the culmination of the lady whistledown saga and move on to the romance author era for penelope by the end of this season
