Amanda Root + Ciarán Hinds in PERSUASION (1995), dir. Roger Michell
“I must go, uncertain of my fate; but I shall return hither, or follow your party, as soon as possible. A word, a look, will be enough to decide whether I enter your father’s house this evening or never.”
– Jane Austen, Persuasion (1818).

DHSKAKSHJSISVENDOSISHSHS 😭💗
Love love love how Persuasion opens with Elizabeth saying no one will want Anne in Bath and then in Bath Anne's dodging admiring glances and engagement rumors left and right like Neo with the bullets. Jane Austen was cackling over her inkpots, I just know it.

Part of what makes season 4 of Bridgerton so enjoyable is that much like Pride and Prejudice, Sophie and Benedict’s love is so b-plot to most of the main characters that it’s both delightful and comical when they eventually find out.
Pride and Prejudice (2005) dir. Joe Wright
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (2005) dir. joe wright
Barbie (2023) dir. Greta Gerwig
This is Meryton Assembly erasure. They went to the club once at the beginning of the book and the night went so badly that the whole rest of the narrative is the fall out from it.
