charlie is a survivor. he'll take down showfall no matter what he has to do to get people to listen, no matter how long it takes. the stories showfall puts out frame him as traumatized and an unreliable source. his claims are discredited.

sneeg is a victim. he has no one to bury him, no one to mourn the loss of his life. the stories showfall puts out make his death seem staged. his family assumes the fame went to his head. he isn't spoken about again.

ranboo is a martyr. they died so a point that should have never been made could be proven. the stories showfall puts out say that their death was accidental, that the spikes inside the iron maiden were made too long by mistake and there wasn't time to test it before the final episode. they're gone, and the people who are comforted are the very ones who orchestrated their death, who are told that it was an accident.

after the whole drama of the initial meeting wears off, ranboo finally gets to process their trauma. but they have revelations/breakthroughs at the most random times

the trio, eating breakfast together peacefully:

ranboo: *slams coffee mug on table, staring dead at the wall* i dug around through my friend's internal organs.

i have to read 'a connecticut yankee in king arthurs court' for school and its literally just an isekai? like bossman gets conked with a crowbar, is taken to the palace, meets a twink, and decides 'huh. merlins whole job is bullshitting. im good at that. im going to rule england and give these 6th century peasants guns'

tried to call my friend a 'sugar baron' tonight at dinner because he complained about his sweet tea just tasting like normal tea

because i tend to slur my words/trail off, all my friends heard was "not sweet enough for you, sugar bear?"

not sure what the general consensus of how simon and grace find ranboo is but imagine

ranboo being one of grace's old students who would visit him between classes in high school

ranboo being terrified of his future and coming to grace for advice

ranboo one day telling him about a summer internship that he had been offered at a film studio

showfall media

grace encourages them to take it

that same day is the day eva finds grace

ranboo doesn't get a chance to give him a proper goodbye

its a few weeks to launch

grace watches the social experiments

he saw ranboo advertised as the main character and was so, so proud of them for achieving something so special and so once-in-a-lifetime

he watches helplessly as his former student-

someone he had long talks with,

someone he held when they broke down crying over the stress of it all,

someone he helped with their math homework and english essays and college applications-

is subjected to pain and torment and psychological torture

and he can't do anything to help them this time

it's a memory he doesn't recover until he finds ranboo again

he wishes he kept it buried

OH AND BECAUSE I HATE MYSELF

ranboo doesn't remember grace

grace keeps trying to reference inside jokes and old memories

ranboo just gives him a confused look

it breaks grace's heart, not that he'd ever admit it

grace eventually decides that it's better to make new memories instead of mourning forgotten ones

that night, he accesses a copy of "cats (2020)" that eva had saved in the hail mary computer for him specifically and sits ranboo, simon, and rocky down to watch it

rocky believes that it is a documentary

ranboo is appalled by the cgi

simon is very offput by the plot

grace is having the time of his life

and for a fleeting few hours, they feel like a normal family
