A server I’m in had added a dude that was creepy towards me and I’m not sure if I’m remembering correctly but the guy might have been racist to another friend in the past- so I blocked him.

I might be an adult and I may be 26 now, but I do not think I could live alone. (This is more or less a vent post, do not read if you don’t want to see a vent post)

TW: self die talk, parental death, grief

I’ve been living with my mum (and prior to his death, my dad as well) since I was born. I went to college on the other end of the city and took the 1.5 hour bus both ways because it was cheaper than living in dorms. When my mental health took a turn after my dad passing away, I couldn’t. Every moment I wasn’t at home (or near family) I was thinking “is my mum next? What do I do if she dies” and it scared me.

I started grief counselling, which helped for a long time- until I was able to talk about it openly, like I do now. There’s still times when I can’t talk about the what and the how and the where of everything around his death, it’s still hard to remember and hard to talk about.

But I’ve successfully kept moving. A few months ago I was in a really dark spot. It was after Christmas and new years and I thought “how many [of my prescription pain medication] would it take to kill me?” I was numb, I started counting how many I had, 2/3rds of a 3 month supply (120~ pills) and kept thinking “how many until I feel sick, how many till I pass out”

My dog barked at the door for something and wouldn’t shut up, I remember blinking and thinking “what am I doing? Mum is out and I don’t want her to come home to me dead or dying”

I messaged a pair of friends. (One of which I don’t talk to much anymore, they cut most of us off after a break up.) they talked me out of it. It was the one and only time I was completely okay with death. I usually kick myself out of it by being scared or not wanting to let my family see me dead.

Alls to say, I’m much better now. I took a bit to recover after that and while my mental health could still drop suddenly, it’s not as bad as it was. Due to it over all being not great, I can’t live alone. I don’t know what I’ll do when mum goes. I’ll never recover if I’m alone.

I don’t want to think about what I’d do when she goes. But I know it won’t be good if I’m living alone.
