All-time hall of fame winner for most preposterous Facebook ad (luxury slop category), hands down the worst thing I’ve ever been solicited to buy on FB:
🩵 Jeff Koons x Lexon Drop Is Live! 🩵
Thousands waited for this drop.
Now it's open and the clock is already running. The Lexon × Jeff Koons Chromatic Collection is live with eight collectible Balloon Dog designs in four vibrant shades, each available as a lamp and a speaker.
The 2025 edition sold out worldwide. This one will too. The only question is whether you're on the right side of that.
💰 $800 per piece | Free worldwide shipping
🎨 Max 2 units per color, per customer
Shop now. This won't last.
I am not making any of this up, that’s the ad, that’s the copy, that’s what they’re selling. They’re signed or endorsed or something (the screenshot is of the end of a video, because it says what it is in one visual. I did watch the video all the way through but just the once, and I was a little wigged out, ngl) by Jeff actual Koons, who I hope is doing okay and sleeping well at night about this, things are tough all over. In the vid there’s a scene where we see a guy’s back as he walks up to his fancy bar counter with the Jeff Koons balloon dog speaker on it and twists the dog’s nose. I’m not OK
Jeff Coons is, IMO, a con man, a.ways was and always will be. 🤷 Yes I'm sure the lamp " won't last", p.enty of idiots with money will buy it. Only two per customer 😭 wouldn't you want to have one in every room of your mansion?

Beautiful 😍😍😍
I adore this recent trend (if that's the right word) of letting an orchestra play classical music on a festival. It's magical to see thousands of festival-goers going absolutely wild on Beethoven. Mosh/circlepits, crowd surfing. It's wonderful to see the orchestra and the audience having the time of their lives.
They have to keep it on easy going Beethoven like Ode to Joy here to ensure a more docile response. They cant play In the Hall of the Mountain King cause they were already burning down venues when Grieg dropped that one back in 1875, today there would be a radioactive crater.
see we joke but like. go to around 1:09 here
it does indeed fucking slap
I ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ it!
You ever think about how old people have no idea what “survivor bias” is, and take full credit for being excellent out of things where they lucked out?
“Back in my day we didn’t have any of these childhood protective things, we were smart enough not to do stupid shit on our own!” Except your little neighbour, who got the funniest idea at the age of seven, and got his skull pierced when he slipped?
“Back in my day nobody got divorced, we stuck together and fixed our problems!” What about your cousin, who was slowly killed by her husband because she had nowhere to escape him?
“Back in my day nobody had ‘mental problems’, we didn’t whine, we just toughed it out and endured life!” Hey remember that guy you used to work with, who seemed really friendly and normal, and then suddenly hanged himself ‘for no reason’?
“Back in my day we didn’t have any of this ‘gay’ or ‘transgender’ thing.” You did, but your family cut all ties with her before you were born.
You kinda start seeing it in everything they think, if you start looking for it.
“When we were kids nobody whined about car seats or bike helmets. We didn’t use them, and we all survived!”
Yeah, except for the ones who didn’t.
I'm an old person, and back in my day we did A LOT of stupid shit on our own, because nobody was watching us, I got divorced twice, we did have mental problems, only many of them were not recognized or misdiagnosed, which did not help any, there were two gay guys in my very small group at the University, I watched a Polish documentary about trans people in the year "Hair" was in the theaters, car belts were 100% obligatory... You are talking about my grandparents generation, or something...🤔
The Cholitas Escaladoras are redefining what a mountaineer looks like. These inspiring Indigenous Aymara women from Bolivia have captured global attention by conquering some of the highest peaks in the Andes—including Argentina’s formidable Mount Aconcagua. What makes their climbs even more remarkable is their refusal to leave their heritage behind; they summit these icy peaks proudly wearing their traditional, voluminous polleras (skirts) and customary attire.
Their journey began in 2015. After years of working in the background as cooks and porters for male climbers, a group of these women decided it was time to scale the summits themselves, starting with Bolivia's Huayna Potosí. By trading the sidelines for the peaks, the Cholitas Escaladoras are shattering stereotypes, reclaiming their Indigenous culture, and proving to the world that strength and capability come in many forms.

From the Nashville Zoo’s fb page! Here’s the petition, please please please take a moment to add your name (even if you’re not from Nashville!). If you are from Tennessee, contact your representatives and make it clear that the people do not want this data center. This is an AZA accredited zoo which is home to several species of critically endangered animals, we NEED to protect it. Make your voice heard!
Because people will pay attention to cute animals, here are some of the critically endangered/endangered species housed at the Nashville Zoo!
The Amur Leopard and Clouded Leopard (which recently celebrated its 50th cub born at the zoo!)
The Sumatran Tiger
The Red Ruffed Lemur and Ring-Tailed Lemur
The Cotton-Top Tamarin and White-Cheeked Gibbon
The Colobus Monkey and De Brazza’s Monkey
And the Mexican Spider Monkey!
Look at them!!!! Look at them and fight like hell to save them!!!!
Fight like hell!
Oh, people WILL remember him. BTW, toppling statues of dictators is deeply satisfying
Tigers with a frozen milk brick on a hot day
needless to say they are hopelessly dependent on the ingot
Be like the tigers! Give yourself a brick of frozen milk ( plus vanilla, chocolate, strawberries, etc.) on a hot day!
Some life advice nobody told me that I’ve slowly gathered through navigating the adult world;
If you go out to eat, tip in cash. 100% of that money goes to the server if it’s a worthwhile establishment, whereas a portion of a card tip goes to the business owners.
You don’t owe your bosses anything that’s not in your contract. They will try to get more out of you than you’re paid for—don’t give it to them. Even if they try to guilt you over it.
If you can’t muster up the energy to take care of yourself, whether through work fatigue or depression, at least brush your teeth. That is the most expensive part of hygiene to fix/replace. Everything else can wait if you can’t manage it at the moment.
That said, a shower is Temporary Depression Eraser. It’s kind of incredible how well it works to help you feel better, even if it’s a lot of spoons.
Go out in the sun. It’s so dumb and small but human minds become a very not okay place to be if you don’t get your daily sunlight. Seasonally Affected Disorder is very real and stupid but it’s easily treatable. If you live in a climate without a lot of sun, they make lamps that emit the same rays to compensate.
Don’t feel bad for eating bread. Carbs are important and actually encouraged as long as it’s not the only thing you eat.
Vote in your local elections. Your voice will matter way more in those than anywhere else. They don’t tell you this because it’s true.
Don’t put stock in any bad thoughts you have after 8-9 pm. Again, so stupid but it’s a very real thing.
Kindness goes a long, long way. Even little things like ‘I like your shirt”. I promise you it makes a difference.
Eat at least one vegetable a day to keep your levels stable. The human body is a temperamental little bitch that makes everything Horrible Forever unless you eat a vegetable.
Hold landlords accountable. If you’re paying them an arm and a leg to live somewhere, they can fix your fucking boiler. It’s part of their contract as a homeowner if they’re renting to someone.
☝️👏👏👏👏👏
arguments that have zero merit, none, completely worthless, should not influence your decisions at all ever:
"this is how we've always done it"
"that's the policy"
"we've never tried that before"
etc
I was hired by a Venerable Canadian Crown Corporation to " introduce and manage Change." Then I've heard the above sentences ALL THE TIME. I still made changes. I had a look a few weeks ago, out of morbid curiosity; the changes persist. Sometimes, I amaze myself.
