There’s something really special about the artistic depictions of Middle Earth before Peter Jackson’s movies were made. Not that those movies aren’t incredible in every way, but they definitely became the standard for how people imagine Tolkien’s work now.

Finally...It's there on the museum floor, the American privateer ROYAL LOUIS c.1781. I can only hope the model will serve its viewers well, especially our youth. However, welcome ship model builders historians and scholars. The Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia, PA welcomes you!

I go through waves where crafting little worlds is all I wanna do and usually when I finish a project, I go on hiatus. This past hiatus has been longer than most but I’m finally taking on something I’ve been wanting to do for a while and I’m trying really hard to focus on the smaller details. I hope to have this done before Halloween!

I work in an office but the American River runs right behind it and I get to go and escape there on my lunch breaks. I keep a camping chair in my trunk and I’ll usually bring a big ass fantasy book or my fly rod with me. Getting outside and watching water pass by is truly the best medicine.
