Lief is enjoying the sunset and the quiet when they see someone familiar pass by. For a few moments, they can't place where they've met this man. He's plain, unassuming, but he radiates some strange sort of power. It isn't until someone literally passes through him that Lief remembers where they've felt a power like this before. Death. Death was here, without the bunny head, but it has to be, right? The dragonling quickly gets up from their seat on the park bench and walks over to the entity
It’s a nice park, and the setting sun only makes it prettier than it otherwise would be. And being walked through isn’t so bad. It’s better than being an invisible man with a body they can only touch. That definitely freaks people out. No, he likes this better. His unobtrusive, massless form.
He finds a comfortable place at a small bridge, overlooking a creek facing the sunset. Smiling as the last rays of gold cover him like a blanket, It’s beautiful. So much of this world is so beautiful. And he knows mortals do their best, but, Do they really have time to appreciate all of it? It doesn’t seem like it.
Most people are too wrapped up in their lives, their families, their work, their projects… There’s nothing wrong with that, but it breaks Tama’s heart, just a little, that so few are able to fully experience the sunset. That each person is destined to do only a handful of things that make them really, truly happy. So much of their lives make them miserable, when beauty is everywhere. Why do so few people see it? Why do so few appreciate it?
deathtama asked:
"hi"
@ofcloakandmagic answered:
A smile curls at the witchling’s scarred lips and he moves forward to cup the God’s face with a glowing blue hand before gently kissing the other in greeting and humming “ Hello Tama. ”
Tama grins, reaching up with one hand to comb through Vincent’s soft hair, eyes roaming his face. “It feels like years since I saw you last. I’ve been working a lot.” To Vincent it wouldn’t have seemed long at all, but Tama’s freed over a million souls between this kiss and the last. Everyone who would die in the next week or so. I missed you.
His hand falls to Vincent’s waist as he says, “I’m caught up for a while now, though, so...I’m all yours again.”
He leans in and kisses Vincent’s cheek before saying, “Do you want to hang out? Or...I could help you with your work.”
It had been fun, the first time they’d met. Following clues and solving a mystery together. Finding the spire and giving the town its shadows back. What are you working on now?
@zonbiman
It wouldn’t have been so bad if it hadn’t happened right next to a hospital. Most of the patients are alright, but the ones in surgery, the ICU, or just in very unstable conditions...
Tama’s been living the same moment over and over for a while now, approaching a soul at the moment of their death, speaking as reassuringly as he can, and cutting them free, before moving on to the next person and starting at the same moment. If anyone could see him, it would look like he were in dozens of places at once.
No one can see him, though. He’s in private hospital rooms, where only the dying would notice. He’s had trouble with loved ones or staff seeing him in the past, but it hasn’t been a problem today.
He’s tired, though. These high-casualty monster attacks are exhausting. Seeing the same terror and horror over and over is hard. He wouldn’t trust his job to anyone else, but he doesn’t like doing it.
To anyone else, he’s done in a moment, but relative to Tama, it’s been hours. And it’s been terrible.
He decides, when he’s done, to go see the monster that caused all this. Standing over the last body, he watches as the room disappears around him, replaced by the street below. He sees the monster--some kind of gigantic amphibian, maybe--lying dead against the side of a parking garage. And standing across from him, Oh. Zombieman.
Tama watches the news sometimes, and he occasionally reads the papers. He knows Zombieman from his media coverage and reputation, but they’ve never really met. But isn’t he supposed to be dead? Tama smiles and walks over, doing his best impression of non-threatening nonchalance.
Can you see me?
what’s up party people!
meet sai–a villain saitama who snapped under the ha’s bullshit and started killing heroes in addition to monsters, becoming a monster himself.
alone and lonely, bored and despondent, alcoholic and addicted to self harm.
an asshole.
Also, coming soon: a shitty asshole villain saitama
Me, dumping ice water on Saitama: Up! Up! Up!
Me, slapping Tama with a rolled up newspaper: Wake! The! Fuck! Up!

“Oh–” Tama stands, starts toward the kitchen, then…
@deathtama
The soup smells amazing, though they suppose anything would while they’re this hungry. They only hesitate to choose because, where had he gotten this from? Had he cooked it before? Had it heated on the stove? had it premade in anticipation of visitors? There were too many possibilities, especially considering how strong the other seems to be. For all Aoto knows. the man had just conjured all of this up.
Their stomach growls, telling them to stop being so afraid and just eat, so thanking him again, they grab one of the bowls and start eating, just a bit too quickly. pausing only to look at Tama and say “Thank you.”
He smiles, sitting on the stool again. “You’re welcome.” He’d forgotten completely about food--Aoto must be starving. And he watches them for a few moments before realizing that they might be embarrassed to be stared at. It’s not something he usually thinks about. He smiles a little and turns to face the fire, leaning back a little against the side of the bed.
The flames flicker brilliantly, but his eyes are drawn to the wood. Watching what was once a massive tree be slowly eaten by a chemical reaction... Watching a once living thing being consumed... But that’s silly; life is everywhere. Even where it isn’t, the potential is there. Everything is a cycle, and it’s constantly moving. It’s amazing.
Glancing back at Aoto for just a moment, “How’s the soup?”

“Ah–when I’m least expecting it?” Tama is still…
@deathtama
“ Mhm,” Vincent purrs, laying kisses all over the other’s jaw and neck, happily returning the kiss when Tama presses his lips to the witchlings. Running his hands over the others back and sliding his hands down to his hips, Vincent can’t help a wide smile. He just feels so….elated.
For a split second, when Tama pulls back Vincent thinks he’s made some mistake. Been boring or restraining himself too much, but all of his fears fade when he sees the way Tama is looking at him. He’s sure if he were more easily flustered, he’d be blushing. Tama had no right looking so good without trying. Nipping Tama when he leans back in, the witchling feels like….something. Something good and unreal. Like a good dream. He realizes he doesn’t even remember what it was that upset him right now.
Grinning he says “ …mm, you distracted me so much I don’t even remember why I was upset.”
“Mm, good,” he says, leaning in to nuzzle and kiss Vincent’s neck. “That means I did my job.” We can talk about it later, he decides. For now, just lie here and be happy. Just let me see you smile.
Tama closes his eyes, reaching up with one hand to comb through Vincent’s hair, as the other traces his collarbone. “You look so good in moonlight, you know?” And he turns his head, kissing Vincent’s jaw. “It makes you glow.” And he glows a little more, before collecting himself and saying, “So, ah, you must be a star, right?” A beautiful shooing star. Good luck. Which sounds about right; Tama has never felt luckier.
Gold light pours from his fingertips, covering Vincent in his glimmering soul. Looking up at him, “Oh, is this okay?” And he leans in for a soft kiss. “It just feels so good to hold you like this."
someone who genuinely cares for me/my well-being: have you considered writing a character who isn't profoundly sad?
me, scribbling notes for my most recent oc's tragic backstory: have you considered shutting up?

“You’re welcome.” Again, the words feel strange in…
@deathtama
Their stomach answers for them, churning unpleasantly and growling loudly. Embarrassed, Aoto clears their throat and looks at a nearby wall instead of Tama. They’d neglected to mention just how hungry they’ve been, and their body has apparently had enough of waiting. It starts to hurt pretty quickly, and they groan, placing their hand over it.
“I, uh…I-I’m….really, really hungry..” they say, making themself look at him as they do “Is there food..?” , that was probably a stupid question but, who knew if Tama ate or not?
“Oh--” Tama stands, starts toward the kitchen, then stops. “Ah--give me a second, okay?” And he disappears.
A small grocery store a few hundred miles away, close to closing time. He makes his way to the back of the store, where the salad bar is, and finds a small soup station. There are three: chicken noodle, tomato basil, and cream of mushroom. He hadn’t thought to ask what they’d wanted, and he doesn’t want to make them wait any longer than absolutely necessary, so he grabs one container of each.
They nest together well enough as he stacks them on the counter before scooping the base of the tower into one hand and grabbing a fistful of napkins and plastic spoons with the other. And he disappears again, returning to where and when he’d left, beside the table in front of Aoto.
Smiling a little as he arranges everything in front of them, he opens all three containers and drops a spoon in each before sliding the table close enough for them to reach. “Ah, If you don’t want soup, I can get you something else,” he offers. “I just thought, ah...isn’t that what people eat when they’re sick?”
Although Aoto is injured, not sick. Still, they haven’t eaten for a very long time. Probably better to stick with liquids for now. “Here,” he says, and picks up their cup, striding back to the kitchen area and refilling it with water. A moment later he’s back beside them again, replacing the lid and setting it next to the soup.

Tama grins, uncurling his arms from Vincent’s legs…
@deathtama
With a content sigh, Vincent wraps his arms around Tama’s shoulders and pulls him closer. “I’ll get my revenge later, “ he murmurs softly, still feeling a bit breathless from the touching and kissing wanting more of the closeness and intimacy more than anything at the moment. He feels a little ridiculous and selfish admitting that to himself, but it isn’t enough to make him stop holding Tama as close as he’s able. Proud of himself for keeping his body calm despite the reaction it so desperately wanted to have.
“Ah--when I’m least expecting it?” Tama is still grinning, his body settling on top of Vincent’s--a reversal of their earlier positions. He hums a little--a habit he’d picked up from Vincent--and kisses him softly on the mouth. I love you. Fingertips move from his collarbone to his neck, tracing the tendons--soft and warm.
And he’s struck with a feeling of profound gratitude. He’s so grateful to be here, holding the most perfect person who’s ever lived. Kissing him and making him smile. Tama had always considered himself the unluckiest god, but...not anymore. He’d been the luckiest, all along. He’d just needed to be patient, too.
He realizes he’s been staring at Vincent. And, a moment later, he realizes what his face had been doing. Eyes half-lidded, lips slightly parted--awestruck. A goofy expression, and one he makes a lot when he’s around Vincent.
Another grin, then more kisses, soft and sweet. You’re amazing.
And, Thank you.
