Talking Books With @debbiedoesbooks!
[What is this and how can I participate?]
Important note: I haven’t changed or edited any of the answers. I’ve only formatted the book titles so they were clearer, but nothing else. Because I’m incapable of shutting up, my comments are between brackets and in italics, so you can distinguish them clearly.

1. What is a book you own a special edition of?
Out of 600ish books i have none are special editions. Which now sounds crazy to me lol. But I do have some that are signed. I tend to by a lot of used books. New books I usually get from my SO as gifts for from friends and family as gifts.
2. Last I-wish-I-hadn’t-read-this book you’ve read?
The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James. I was crazy hype to read it. I felt like it was going to be a favorite read. Instead I was insanely bored by it. So disappointing.
3. Do you do read-alongs?
No. I’ve tried in the past but I can’t ever seem to join a group where anyone actually follows along and at the end does the group thing. So I stopped joining.
4. How long is your TBR right now?
I don’t make monthly TBRs. I’ve tried but since I’m a mood reader I never stick to them so i just don’t to them anymore. But according to Good Reads I’ve added over 1000 books to my Want To Read section.
5. Thoughts on DNFing books?
As a kid I could NEVER DNF. I just HAD to finish no matter how much I didn’t like the book. But then you get older and responsibilities grow as time lessens so I’ve learned that it is not worth it to continue a book that I am not enjoying. I don’t have time to myself as it is a stay at home mom and I won’t waste my precious me/book time by not at the very minimum liking what I am reading. With that being said I do try to read at least halfway before giving up. Sometimes books do get better as it goes along..but if i’m halfway and it’s still crap to me then I give up. Sometimes a book feels like it will get better (cough cough The Sun Down Motel) so i’ll finish it and then just be mad at myself. If it’s so bad that I can’t even finish half then I absolutely won’t rate it. I will rate at halfway or more but I always make sure to state that I didn’t finish and why I didn’t.
[Whereas I CAN’T give a book up. No matter how much I hate or how much it bores me, I just can’t, my brain won’t let me hahah. I can count with one hand the books I’ve DNF, and it was all when I was way younger.]
