Found out Battle Beast's singer has left, which sucks. But I looked up their new singer and found her other band, who are pretty great.

And I want the jacket she's wearing during the chorus.

Sometimes I wonder what my favourite genre of music is, then I think of how delighted I am every time I find a new doom band.

I'd liked some previous Sleigh Bells stuff, but hadn't properly got into them. This new album has now latched on to me and I am fully on board.

I went to a gig a while ago and the support was a band with just drums/bass/vocals (and then the singer pulled out a second bass) and it just highlighted that what YotC do is akin to magic.

The dynamics, the textures, the push and pull of their rhythms and song structures. From just two people.

And Amy is an incredible vocalist. Album of the year contender already.

How have I not posted about Scowl before? They were one of my most listened bands last year and they keep releasing bangers. Their new album is shaping up to be great.

Quite different from their previous stuff and really goes on a journey. A shock at first, but really grew on me.

The new Avatarium album is out! But I already posted the best song from that, so here's something from a different album that just came out that snuck up on me.

I swear every time I watch a Nemophila video, they seem to be having so much fun. But how could you not when you're capable of writing a song with a chorus this good?

Do you ever listen to a band and think "yeh, I like that" and then they slowly sneak up in your estimation, until you suddenly realise they might be one of your favourite bands.

Spotify has been telling me for a while that Kittie have a new album (probably because of how often I listen to their cover of Run Like Hell) and I've ignored it because stuff they did post-Oracle was mostly meh.
