Attended this really insightful talk today, it's part of the a leadership series here at my university however the thing that stood out the most for me was this quote:
"I want to be thoroughly used up when I'm done."
I can't put into words what it means but I feel it will be a mission of mine for some time as I try to put meaning into this little life of mine.

Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House was published sixty years ago today. The novel begins with one of the best openings I have ever read:
“No live organism can continue for long to exist sanely under conditions of absolute reality; even larks and katydids are supposed, by some, to dream. Hill House, not sane, stood by itself against its hills, holding darkness within; it had stood for eighty years and might stand for eighty more. Within, walls continued upright, bricks met neatly, floors were firm, and doors were sensibly shut; silence lay steadily against the wood and stone of Hill House, and whatever walked there, walked alone.”
