"Eh?" It starts out small, stunned, almost asking if he’d heard right. Then his mouth drops open, face quickly growing fuchsia as he stares, motionless, aside from small, stunned twitches. "D-Danchou? Really?!” Oh boy, oh jeez, he hadn’t meant an attempt at making friends to end in stumbling upon gossip, let alone the biggest gossip that was likely in the Dan at all. Knowing this kind of thing would definitely be dangerous.

Those next words confirmed it. Right, Kido-san is tough. She definitely would yell at him if he mentioned it, or worse. Straightening, now purpose-filled as he tries to recollect his cool exterior—stolen away so easily, huh—he nods. "Right… I won’t tell." It wasn’t as if he cared much for gossip in the first place. In this case, his safety was a definite priority.

Recovered, almost thoughtfully, he tilts his head. "How did that happen? Danchou"—pause, recalling various punches, voice as blunt as them—"is kind of aggressive around you, you know." Aah, if that was how girls displayed their love, he’d be all set when he got Hiyori back. Since she seems to hate you so much, that’s…

It wouldn’t work out well at all, yet… let him tell himself it would, for even a brief moment.

   [⌬] Hook. Line. Sinker. The brown haired child fell for his little lie,feeding into it like those old stories about leprechauns or fat men in suits. The look on his face made it even more entertaining.

  "Thanks. She's really careful about it. The tough Danchou of the Mekakushi Dan in a relationship! It's not good for her ideal leader type. So it's a secret."

   He waved a hand,as if to brush away the other's words. "Danchou's a very complex girl. Aggressiveness is her way of showing love. Why else would she do it to me the mos? Of course sometimes she apologizes afterwards when no one's around,or gives my arm a little massage after yanking on it. It's her just her special way,some girls are just weird like that."

Tbh, I really wonder why isn’t there anything with KanoMarry and what their friendship could be. Like….

Imagine Marry and Kano watching a scary monster movie. Marry tries to be brave but ends up getting really scared so Kano turns himself into the monster to do silly things. She ends up giggling and makes it way through the movie.

Imagine Kano telling Marry his “crazy yet cool” adventures. She knows their lies but listens anyway because he seems so happy talking about them.

Imagine they are pretty protective of each other. Like Marry gives a hug to Kano when he talks about Ayano, close to tears. Or Kano glaring at Shintaro when Marry gets all giddy with Shinatro.

Imagine the two just talking all night about them.

Imagine them one day eating so many sweets they get a tummy ache and get scolded.

  What as he talking about? As far as she knew it was only her and the boy there…So who was he trying to tell to get away? Was he talking about her? Did he not know she was the monster he was hunting? It was good for her but…She didn’t want to lie. 

  When she heard him speak up again, she stiffened up. It only got worse as she heard him get closer to her and do what she guessed was kneeling in front of her. When he mentioned opening her eyes, she shook her head quickly. Her nerves were starting to get the best of her again as she pushed herself closer to the wall and tucked herself into a ball.  

        “N-No..! I-I don’t w-want to hurt anyone….I-I…”

  Feeling a lump in her throat, she stopped before letting out a few tears which soaked right into the blindfold. Sensing that he was still there, she reached out and pushed him away with the little strength she had. 

       ”G-Get away….P-Please…I-I don’t want to hurt anyone anymore…”

    He stared at the girl in confusion. Was it how hard he hit his head on the way down that caused this? He wasn't sure.Well,there wasn't a way he could blame her. Though embarrassed over this,as she pushed him back,he took the girl's hands,holding firmly onto them.

    "Hey..it's safe now..No one's gonna hurt you and I doubt you'd hurt anyone..I'm here to help. My name's Shuuya,I volunteered to come here.

  The monster,had killed 3 people back at my village at the opening of the Forest.  You'd be better off getting out of here while you can,while I take care of it."

   He glanced behind him,checking his surroundings before returning his gaze to the girl."It'll be ok."

Setting down beside him, Ayano smiled cheerfully. "Shuuya, you know none of that is true. You're far from bad luck." Setting a hand on his head, she ruffled his hair a bit before laughing softly. "You were my favorite. Are. You have nothing to be ashamed of. Being you is what kept you, Tsubomi and Kousuke together all these years. People are stupid if they say you cause bad luck." Taking the muffler from her neck, she wrapped it around his own. "I promise."

   "Nee-Chan..."

There’s been a lack of kano on my dash lately

OK can we talk about something here?

Observe the balloons:They share the same colours as the members of the Mekakuski Dan. You’ve got Purple, Dark Blue, Red, Orange, Pink, Light Blue, Green and Yellow. These are respectively the colours of Kido, Ene, Shintaro, Momo, Mary, Hibiya, Seto and Konoha. But Kano’s colour, Black, isn’t there.

The following part contains spoilers on Mekakucity Actors and Kagerou Project novel volume 5 ‘The Deceiving, so if you haven’t finished one of these, Reading this is not advised.

Now balloons are typically seen as symbols of happiness and freedom. They are seen as floating into the sky, unbound by anything. But since Kano’s colour isn’t present, this may be implying he isn’t free and happy, but rather, is bound by something. In this case, it is the ‘Clearing Eyes Snake’. Kano knows the truth about Ayano’s suicide, and the Snake’s plan, and therefore the snake has threatened Kano into cooperating with him and staying quiet about the whole thing, or else the snake would kill Kano’s friends. This of course would make anyone unhappy, to have to follow the orders of someone who’s threatened to kill everyone who is dear to you. And to make matters worse, Kano knows they’ll all be killed anyway, as a result of the snake’s plan.

While a simple answer is that the exclusion of Kano’s colour is due to the fact that Black is a very dismal colour to see on a theme park. But if you look past that, you can see some eerie symbolism about Kano…
