I recently got the opportunity to create Gerrymandering Puzzles for the newspaper The Guardian! Go check these puzzles out! And seeing as the article links to my Tumblr, hello to everyone finding me from that! A little bit more background on who I am, I make YouTube videos about math stuff located here. I have made two videos on gerrymandering puzzles, how to solve them, and their mathematical properties. Here is the first one, in case you are interested! I also make other videos about math, shapes, and data analysis, my most recent video is about analyzing the data of thousands of people who submitted answers to the question "What colour is each school subject?" A lot more stuff is coming soon!

sooo my script for my next video, which I intended to be around 8 pages long (8 pages usually means a 20 minute video) has hit 21 pages. what can I say, cellular automata is just that cool (I’m gonna have to split this into two videos or else I’ll lose my mind)

I know that the French word for pineapple, “ananas” has six letters but it just strongly has the vibe of a 7 letter word in a way I can’t explain

Ananas seems like that and since it has an extra ‘s’, it makes it seem like it has 7 letters

honestly I think this is it, it feels like it has a 2/2/3 split of letters with the s being the extra letter in split 3, except the first split is only a so it's actually 1/2/3 which just feels wrong

UPDATE on the game theory video, now that my semester is basically over, I’ve finally been able to get on it, and the video editing portion is now 17.89% done! That doesn’t sound like a lot, but this is by far my longest video yet, and all of that is within 2 days, so that’s pretty good.

As a kid, I always hated cake, but I liked cupcakes, and everyone would always call me insane for having that opinion, because what’s the difference??? As a kid I never had the words or understanding of why, but now as an adult I can confidently say exactly why. It’s not the cake itself that I dislike, it’s the icing, and cakes tend to have layers of icing in the middle, which makes it impossible to work around. Cupcakes on the other hand only have icing on the top, which can be easily removed. Take that, annoying people from when I was a kid!

now that my semester is over here are all of the interesting/funny things that happened during it that I took note of:

- kid showed up with a sword on the first day of classes

- three of my classes took place in the same two rooms that are nowhere near each other on campus. Weird ass coincidence

- 90%+ of my entire course load was on Mondays and Tuesdays, which meant by the end of Tuesday I was basically on my weekend/break, which was an extremely weird feeling

- I witnessed an assault a meter away from me on the subway (no actual injuries)

- for the second time in my life, a spider attempted to crawl into my mouth and was partly successful

- I witnessed a road rage incident while walking home about 30 seconds before I got to my house

- the geese returned to campus and one of them flew straight at me it freaked me the fuck out

- we were learning about luminescence in one of my classes with glowsticks and I accidentally exploded mine

- handed in an assignment two weeks late and my professor didn’t gaf and didn’t penalize me

- in one of my classes the professor was showing artists as examples for a project and one of the artists was one of the extremely niche artists I was familiar with that I don’t know anyone else who knows them. I audibly gasped when that came up

- security randomly got called to our classroom in the middle of lesson saying someone needed urgent help. we were all very confused

- there was a leak in the same classroom on the same day which we had a bucket for. I thought it was because the weather had been bad recently and snow was getting in and melting somewhere, but then I remembered we were on the first floor. And then after that I remembered the washrooms were directly above that classroom

- same class a couple weeks later, the alarm started blaring like fucking crazy out of nowhere. Idk why all the weird shit happened only in that class

back in September of 2024 I was in a class and we had a ten minute break, and a kid left on that break, and came back with a carton of chocolate milk and a pack of cookies and said he went to the convenience store. that convenience store is actually a decent ways away from the class so I was quite baffled that he could do such a thing and come back within 10 minutes. The energy of doing that was impeccable though, and I aspired to be like him one day.

now it is March 2026 and I had a class in the same classroom, and this time we had a 15 minute break so I impulsively made the same run to the convenience store and it took me twelve minutes, so I have achieved my dreams and aspirations. That guy still kinda baffles me though because there was no line and I was walking really fast, and it took me twelve minutes, so idk how he could have shaved 3-4 minutes off of that (he didn’t seem winded when he came back) so idk I guess I still have something to learn

Today is the last class and we just had our 15 minute break so I decided to specifically time myself with a stopwatch to see how fast I could go and the timer read 10:53. I went as fast as I could and had zero slowdowns, even rushed at the checkout, so I really have no idea how that guy did it in under nine minutes.

I have some really really cool shit coming after I do the game theory video. So interesting, that I am in fact working on it right now, because it is directly correlated to work I am doing for a class. I get to do classwork and YouTube projects at the same time because they are one and the same in this instance

Aliens. Specifically aliens that are as advanced as we are. Do you think aliens also name their mathematical ideas after whoever discovered them? Like the Fibonacci sequence was named by that Fibonacci guy. This would make language translations pretty weird, especially when it comes to mathematicians who do more than just one thing. Like imagine in an alien species, the person who came up with the fibonacci sequence and Pascal’s triangle are the same alien person so both are named after him, but the same word same person splits into two different words in English. Actually, this is the dumbest fucking thing I ever have devoted this much thought to in my entire life end post

I thought it was chatgpt at first but to my horror, the entire thing was completely full of references to all of my videos, in a way that chatgpt DEFINITELY could NOT replicate.
