A little retrospective of my contract at Flight Centre. From usability testing at Heathrow to pair designing work Devs. Its been amazing.
Great recruitment event at Find A Tech Job in London, hosted by Expedia. Lots of interesting pitches from potential employers
If you find yourself spending way too much time prototyping your next big design, you may need to take a step back and evaluate the tools and resources you have at hand. There is no reason to stick…
IXDA London - Interaction and Music Creation, featuring Ableton, Novation, Braintruments and Tim Exile
Some seriously bleak dystopian technologies are imagined up at The UX Crunch at Webcredible last night. Trading the body parts of your clones for goods and services, ECG ID chips implanted into all babies and having your memories removed for committing crimes against the State?
Great to see some of me and my team's work out in my local high street!
Visual design research and and initial concepts for a print and digital design project.
Sketching out and user testing a discount codes form section to the checkout process, (making sure those errors are handled and successes are confirmed) then moving on to the high-res mock up.
A week of IA card sorting and feature prioritisation workshops
A morning of checkout form sketching - porridge and coffee on standby. (I like how I use red pen to correct myself like a school teacher)
Attended the infographics evening course at General Assembly last night. Great tips on communicating clear messages through appropriate data visualisation, as well as examples of some dribble-worthy online interactive examples. Great to see Yougov Profiles up there. Love that site!
Great night at Sargent Nitro for the Interaction Design Association conference rundown. Amazing talks about Automated car interfaces, Smart cities and wayfinding for the visually impaired on the the TFL Network
Tonight I taught a table of ladies how to write HTML + CSS at Women Who Code. It’s National Coding Week, so why not? It’s one of the best things I’ve ever done and was genuinely moved by their gratitude. “You’ve just explained everything I’ve been trying to get my head round for ages”.
Day two of the General Assembly JavaScript and jQuery weekender. My mind is utterly fried, but I'm eager to get practicing!
Enjoying the bootcamp coding weekend at General Assembly’s Introduction to JavaScript.
Fantastic seminars and workshops at SOCIAL MEDIA WEEK from BBC Radio, Government Digital Service, Pinterest, John Lewis and many more. Shame the wifi in the 'co-working space' was so rubbish.
