You're staring Stay away from me
Idk if anyone even noticed but I've gone really quite again for over a month now.. My mental health is really bad at the moment, so I'm taking a break from social media and all
︵ ೀ fluff. you call satoru by his last name in public and he is a bit dramatic about it
the staff meeting at jujutsu high was supposed to be the most boring hour of your week, the kind where yaga talks about statistics and everyone quietly checks how many minutes are left before they can go get lunch.
but you and satoru had gotten into a fight that morning, one of those stupid arguments that starts over something small and somehow spirals into “well maybe you just don’t think about anyone but yourself,” and neither of you had really resolved it before you both had to show up to work like functioning adults.
so when he strolled into the conference room fifteen minutes late, blindfold pushed up onto his head, grinning like the whole world owed him a good morning, you didn’t even glance up from your notebook.
“morning, morning, did everyone miss me?” he said, dropping into the seat next to yours like nothing at all had happened between the two of you a few hours earlier.
“gojo,” you said, without looking up, your voice perfectly even, like you were greeting a coworker you barely knew.
the entire room seemed to freeze for a second. not satoru. not babe, not the nickname you swore you’d never use in public but absolutely used constantly at home. just gojo, delivered with all the warmth of a weather report.
nanami’s eyebrows climbed so high they nearly disappeared into his hairline. shoko made a small choking sound and had to set her coffee cup down before she embarrassed herself further. even yaga, who had seen a thousand strange things happen in this school, paused his sentence about budget allocations to look between the two of you like he’d wandered into the middle of a drama he hadn’t signed up for.
satoru blinked, the smile faltering just slightly at the corners. “huh?”
Fandoms have a serious problem with how creators are being treated these days.
Fandom creators spend hours of their free time to create something to make fandom thrive...for free and for the love of the game.
And what do they get? A wholeass heap of fuck all. No reblogs, no comments, no nothing. And people are surprised that creators are dropping out left, right, and centre??
"Why is there no long fic anymore?" "Why did my favourite writer stop?" "Why is my favourite artist not posting anymore?"
I implore you to ask yourself: "What's the last thing I did to support my fandom? Does my favourite creator know they are my favourite? When was the last time I left a comment under something?"
Thisss. Another reason besides me having been sick/busy has been that it's absolutely discouraging and disappointing to post something I've poured my energy and passion into only to feel like I'm shouting into the void.
I understand that my pairing and ideas might not be for everyone and that's totally fine but there is nothing more sad and almost angering to see the notifs appearing and it being nothing but likes. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the likes bcs it let's me know that my writing can't be utter shit bcs then people wouldn't like it either. But i'm secretly craving comments and reblogs too. I need actual feedback - in words - to get my creative juices flowing. I can just as well keep my writing and ideas to myself if there is no difference in posting them on here anyways.
And it just gets tiring and repetitive and seriously demotivating trying to encourage people to interact. At some point I just feel whiny telling people to send in asks or requests and I will write them etc etc

A/N: Hi, hope you are doing well. The current heatwave is taking it's toll on me. I'm feeling so hot, I don't even want to touch my phone, not to think my laptop. Hope you can be forgiving for me being so inactive. But I come bearing gifts, this is something that came to my mind yesterday evening when sleep evaded me. Not proofread or anything and might be a bit crack-ish. Hope you enjoy <3
"No."
The word was spoken firmly, a unspoken threat looming beneath them.
"Don't you dare take even one more step towards me."
Zuko watched with poorly concealed amusement, his eyes lazily tracked her wagging finger pointing towards him.
"The Fire Lord commands affection," his words were, of course, nothing more but jest. He'd rather bathe in lava than actually address himself like this. His want for affection was there nevertheless and she was the goal. A very unwilling and grumpy goal.
Zuko's eyes wandered to the side, straying not far to find Mai lazing on a futon with a fan in her hand, sluggishly fanning herself. Here in the royal quarters they'd stripped of any unnecessarily piece of clothing. It reminded him of the beach on Ember Island.
"Don't look at me. I won't help you." Her words feigned boredom but the twitch of her lips told him the opposite.
For a few silent moments Zuko considered it, seriously. In the end he decided to ignore the warning, taking a step further. He was rewarded with the wet splat as the dampened fabric landed square in his face. It left behind a moist and cool sensation as the fabric slipped off and landed by his feet in another wet squelch.
"You may hug this my lord."
His eyebrow rose in surprise. She had chucked the thing straight at him in - he had to admit - an impressive throw.
"Why don't you let me hug you?" he whined, almost like a little boy. She had that effect on him lately. His council would have a stroke if only they knew that his lady general commanded the fire lord in the confines of his private quarters.
Said general of his sat on the bed, only one calf now wrapped in the cooling racks that was the latest trial in cooling her down. She looked regal in all her sweaty, annoyed mess. He couldn't fault her entirely. This heatwave was getting to everyone. Let alone a heavily pregnant woman, whose body was now fueled by two fires instead of just one.
But that didn't stop Zuko from wanting to sidle up to her, to wrap himself around her back and let his hands and perhaps also his lips trace the curvature of her belly. Over the course of the last days this had become their game. He hadn't won once yet.
Holding his hands high in the air in an attempt to appear more innocent Zuko trailed over to the edge of the bed and sank down. His robe was quickly discarded until all that remained was the flowly pants, slung low on his hips.
"Then a kiss at least?" was his plea of truce.
He watched her consider it, brows furrowed. She didn't seem pleased but in the end, with a sigh, she accepted with a nod.
"One and you stay away."
"So feisty," he murmured, already slowly crawling across the soft and cool silks of the bedding. She huffed, but there was an amused glint in her eyes now.
"I'd like to see you handling this." Gesturing towards her rounded abdomen, her fingers briefly trailed towards him. It was as if despite her fiery protests she was still craving his closeness just as much as he was.
"I couldn't. Not as well as you do at least." That made both of his ladies laugh.
"I fear I am barely handling it as it is. I will never do this again in the height of the summer"
Zuko finally reached her side, neck stretched as far as he could. He was determined to get this kiss at least and he wouldn't let anything come between.
The meeting of their lips was the sweetest treat after such a hot and exhausting day. When they parted once more, her more than him, he was tempted to lean back in and steal another one. Then her words registered and his heart soared.
"You are already planning to do this again?"
Sheepishly she looked at him and then at May, "Not really. But I'm simply saying, if that is something you'd like, something you decide to want and ask of me again. I won't do it in the summer. At least not in a capital that sits in the crater of an old volcano."
"That can be arranged," Mai promised, watching them from her futon. The next moment she rose, striding slowly towards the bed. Kneeing on the soft mattress Mai too pressed a kiss to their lovely generals lips.
She possessed far greater composure than Zuko, retreating once more after the kiss ended. There was only one of them playing with fire today. Seeing his chance in the momentary distraction, the fire lord leaned forward once more. His lips connected with her rounded stomach. And because he was especially brave his hands descended on it a mere moment after.
"Zuko!" The protest was instant, his hands warm against her soft skin. As quickly as he delivered, he pulled away, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"I couldn't resist." He never could when it came to her.

Hey so I was wondering when are we going to get an update on the fic
Hi! It might take a while, wish I could tell you something more. I was just recently sick and I'm a student and I also work part time. There is another blurb i pre-planned, that I may be able to get out soon. I can't make any promises though, studies have priorities <3
But totally feel free to send in asks about it, it might be easier for me to just answer stuff and write small blurbs with moments on a whim when I'm on my phone <3

"You are staring."
There was amusement in Mai's voice. Zuko, who had by this point been walking alongside her, straightened instantaneously. In a more than flustered motion his eyes first snapped towards his wife and then stubbornly forward. Despite his attempts to make it seem like he was successfully ignoring her words, Mai watched with growing amusement as a certain redness spread across the fire lords cheeks and most prominently his ears.
Had she known that taking a simple stroll across the palace grounds with her beloved would be this fun, she'd have dragged him out of the stuffy council chambers long ago. On this particular spring afternoon, an unusual time and day for the two of them to meet and frolic, they'd left their respective works behind. The decision to enjoy some of their time together and take in the spring weather had been churning in their minds for a while now. While their tasks were important, especially Zuko's, as their nation depended on it, one day wouldn't make or break the nation any more than a hundred years of warfare had done.
And who could say no to such enjoyable weather? It wasn't yet too hot - as was the case every summer, where the climate could become positively sweltering to even the most in tune and proficient fire bender - the early spring sun cast a warm, golden glow. Flowers and trees were sprouting and blooming all around the palace grounds, the entire capital really. A gentle breeze blew softly through the alleys between the many buildings, softly swaying branches and the robes of the citizens.
Just now they'd reached the edge of the guards barracks at the far corner of the palace grounds. A place not normally fit for a leisurely stroll, yet still the route which their feet and perhaps their hearts had carried them to unknowingly. On the plaza a contingent of guards were exercising, practicing their hand-to-hand combat in duos. They'd been walking along the outer perimeter, hidden in the shade of some trees. It was there that Mai caught him eyeing her overlooking the practice.
How could he not? There was something so captivating in the elegant movements, as she demonstrated a simple succession of blocks and the silent confidence with which she walked between the duos, eagle-eyed on their forms. Unable to look away Zuko's mind had drifted from the conversation he'd held with his wife. Mai had taken notice of his distraction when he initially quietened down. What had before been a casual conversation had turned one-sided when her beloved husband stopped enganging in replies with words, turning to soft hums before quietening down entirely.
That's when she noticed his eyes following his general across the plaza. Not for the first time either. It had been a while since Mai first noticed the fascination Zuko seemed to have for her, whether it was him recounting moments from council meetings in which she'd participated or his eyes trailing off and resting on her pleasant appearance for far longer than what was appropriate. He'd been hiding it well for the most, not well enough to hide it from Mai however. Things like that didn't go past her. She was much too observant for that and much too tuned into her husband's habits. Having known him for most of her life brought such benefits.
It was precisely why she was now so amused to call him out. No anger or malice behind either. Zuko, who by this point had recovered stammered, "I'm not sure what you are saying. I- i was simply regarding their forms. Should the palace guards not be in their best form?" His truthfully bad defense was quickly broken by a gasp following Mai's swift fingers pinching him in the side. "What's- what was that for?" Zuko murmured, rubbing his side with another quiet grumble, something about it certainly leaving behind a bruise.
Letting him ramble, Mai's own eyes had turned to her. Zuko, much to his poorly hidden infatuation, wasn't as observant as his wife. Had he been, he'd long noticed that Mai too had difficulties keeping her eyes away from the young general. In fact probably longer than the fire lord himself. Taking the time to let her gaze travel, Mai now regarded the soldier herself. While a non-bender, she too felt impressed at the fluidity of motions, albeit it was only a fraction of what drew her in.
Even clad in the simple uniform of the fire nation army, she somehow managed to make the garment look like the most exquisite robes. Flow-y pants that shifted with every movement of her leg and hips and the tight-fitting undergarment usually hidden beneath long robes. Every intake of breath now visible, Mai's gaze drifted upwards, lingering for a moment on her chest before drifting upwards over the peak of collarbones beneath the collar and the plane of her throat as a bead of sweat slowly trickled down. Her face was flushed from a mixture of the pleasantly warm air and the rush of exercising.
A part of Mai wondered if she'd flush like that in a much different, far naughtier context as well. Strands of hair had escaped from the otherwise always neat and proper hairstyle, now they framed her face, giving it a touch of softness that was unlike the appearance of the soldier. Mai concluded, she liked this disheveled look much better, it reminded her less of all the old men that made up most of the council and the sticks they had permanently up their asses.
"Now you're the one staring." Zuko had leaned down towards her ear, his whisper both carrying the note of a low rumble and a whiny complaint.
Mai answered with a slow hum, savoring the view for a few more heartbeats before she regarded him. "It is quite the exquisite view after all."
He had not expected his answer, she could see it in the way Zuko's eyes grew round and thrice their size. It reminded her of his child self, shy and awkward. Although he'd left most of that behind, every so often it came through. She could see him trying to form an answer, stammers on the tip of his tongue. Instead he deflated nearly comically, shoulders slumping down as he puffed out a air from his chest. Perhaps now he'd finally realized that their infatuation was shared.
Zuko chuckled quietly and elected to draw his wife closer to him by their intertwined arms. He pressed a soft kiss to Mai's temple and murmured, "Let us continue our walk before we are both caught staring."

Fire Lord Zuko x General"Reader x Mai
just a small snippet for these three that I wanted to share. No mention of y/n as this is third pov. Whenever y/n is mentioned it is italicised
