TLDR: Some health stuff, some med school stuff, some happy, silly stuff, and last but not least, some blog maintenance stuff :]
As some of you know, I'm still fighting with my health. My stomach is doing god knows what, and I can, by now, at least manage the symptoms in a way I can still partake in most parts of day to day life. Having a constantly inflamed stomach kinda really sucks ass and with the health care situation around here, I may be "lucky" and get an appointment somewhere around 2028 🧍
Dealing with that stuff makes you an expert of trial and error because not all remedies work for everyone. Today, I am trying something new, and I call it "My daily glass of bog water" because that's what it looks like 🫠 It's a careful teaspoon of psyllium husks mixed into a tall glass of water. It's supposed to help calm an irritated stomach, plus it's great for fibre! I'm NOT looking forward to doing this every morning, but whatever helps at this point.
Anyhow, managing all this whilst attending med school is almost cynical because the emergency doc told me to avoid stress and rest as much as possible. My good guy, I am so sorry, but I'm on my last 2 months of med school classes, and after that, it's final exam preparation time. Fortunately, I'm going on summer break next week, and I can't wait to just honk shoo honk shoo mimimimaxx the hell out of every day 😌 Maybe, if its really just a stress induced issue, I'll be able to have a slice of pizza in a few weeks. Oh, how I hope so because I really miss pizza 🥲
But!!! let's not fret and despair! I shall remain silly ✨️🎉

There was some drama back in April in the fandom I'm in, and god it was such a mess.
There was a callout post on a person i used to be friends with, and most points of the callout post were valid as this person got outed to be weird around Minors despite having mdni in their bio and being overall kinda creepy and manipulative and just trying to get fanart of their character from anyone possible (including me).
They deactivated and i also came forward with what this person has done to me (mostly just using our friendship for my art and fics at any time possible and asking for that stuff in the worst ways possible and always making normal posts about someone i like sexual), but what still kinda annoys me with how much some people focused on this persons art.
That person also made art and fics, and after that person got called out almost everyone was just talking about how bad their art and fics were and another person included that they were writing rape fics in their callout.
when someone gets outed as an actual bad person, then you should also focus on the actual bad things they've done to others, and not what they draw and write in their free time. Actual people have been hurt and you (gen you) focus on what this person likes to draw and write? This leads to people just missing the point entirely and are just there to shit on their creations. And it also just causes online bullying and normalizes this behavior in other callout posts.
And wether or not a person is good or bad, i think being mean about their art and fics is always wrong and doesn't make you a better person because it just leads to bullying 99% of the time.
Bullying is not the way to get someone off the Internet. When making a callout post focus on actual important things and how they have hurt other people, then block the person and hopefully they take a step back from social media on their own.

And you're absolutely right in pointing out that it's actually really important to focus on the actual wrongdoings and not on the fictional stuff they're creating.
It reminds me of finding out that Hans Zimmer is actually quite the transphobe, and all of a sudden, everyone went: "Yeah, his compositions were never that good to begin with."
Look me in the eyes and tell me that not everyone and their mama was going bonkers over the Pirates Of The Caribbean soundtrack, Interstellar or Dune. I know I sure had a mighty hayday with the Dune soundtrack!

I had to think quite a bit because, as of rn, I'm not *really* active in any fandom. I'm stuck in that weird transition limbo, waiting until my brain decides to latch onto something again.
I thought my Interview With The Vampire hype would come alive with the new season, but season 3 to me so far is absolutely abysmal 🫠
So, I have to say the last fandom I was actually active in has to be HBO's Half Man.
There are many studies and quotes from professionals in psychiatry fields that confirm that what someone fantasies about or enjoys in fiction does not necessarily reflect who they are as a person, or their real life morals. People who are pro-censorship either ignore the evidence or adamantly deny it.
And who else do we know who also actively denies facts and evidence for the sake of their own agenda?

last night, I received an anon message that said, "you guys want to be oppressed so bad" on my proship-selfship blog and I can't stop thinking about it because it's so stupid, like, who said we "want" to be oppressed, let alone feel like we are oppressed??? I've never seen a proshipper say anything of that nature, lol
the reason we make "safe" spaces for ourselves is because everything is overrun by antis harassing us nowadays, so we are more or less forced to make our own spaces just so we can exist in peace, but that doesn't equal oppression or whatever, it's just annoying (<- I suspect they may refer to us making our own spaces constantly, that's why I'm saying this)
I know most of these anons just send the same message to several blogs in the hopes of getting some sort of reaction, but I'm just so bewildered by the statement itself, lmfao (I immediately blocked the sender, like always, I'm not giving them that satisfaction, but yeah)

i am a bit annoyed about some proshippers arguments being that some types of darkfic are legal when antis say theyre not. the whole thing should be that legality of a thing doesnt equal the morality... plus, things like lolisho are very very illegal in a lot of countries. fictional incest as well (looks at the uk). not everywhere has the same laws and im annoyed about people speaking like their own home's laws apply to everyone (i especially see americans on both sides of this since the legality of that sort of fiction also depends on the state there)

I get the commission part, but aren't fanfics supposed to be free? Cuz the characters in the fanfic is owned by someone and getting money from selling type of works using their character is like illegal, right?

Very simplified: You're not allowed to make a monetary gain from characters that aren't yours. Goes for both fanfic and fanart.
Both are tolerated BECAUSE they are free. Most of the fanworks (I am sure there are exceptions) are a grey area, so DO NOT monetize it. If you do, you're basically inviting lawyers to come 'round sooner or later.
