TIMELINE TRIPPER. One of my favorite projects from 2025 was this tattoo rendition of my “Timeline Wanderer” drawing for Cory, redrawn to fit the spot and done up in a new color way. And check out an Escher-inspired isometric cityscape and a healed psychedelic timepiece I did on Cory a few years ago as well. Thanks again Cory for picking up so many cool pieces!

Looking at these photos has me missing the old studio. Even though I’m grateful to be in our new spot & out of downtown Greenfield, admittedly I’ve been in a weird limbo space since we moved in, almost like waiting for the other shoe to drop after spending most of last year in survival mode. January has felt surreally long with a mixture of big projects and frequent rescheduling amidst a rapidly decaying sense of safety within American society and a particularly grueling cold season. Nonetheless, the new studio is starting to feel like home, and a relatively safe haven while I watch the outside world every day with a mixture of dread and tepid hope. I’m sure most are feeling the financial squeeze and overall uncertainty these days, and it’s been hard to promote artwork in the face of widespread violence in the world both home and abroad. I suppose I hope my tattoo practice can bring some excitement, lightness, and an increased feeling of autonomy to my clients and anyone looking at my work, now when those feelings need to be cultivated and cared for perhaps more than ever. As such, I am eager to get some exciting new projects on the books for this spring. Perhaps enough creativity and devotion to our communities can incur a great thaw, as it were. Hey! What colors heal the most consistently to their original pigment over time in your experience?

The bright yellow and gold powder pigment I’ve been using the past several years seems to stick and hold very consistently even with a single pass. Mint, turquoises and teals also are colors that usually take to most skin types/tones very well and stay nice and bright even with a single pass. Bright & frosty blues work well usually too. Darker blues and various purples, mid-to-dark magenta and even sometimes red seem to be colors that often benefit from a second pass to help them stay as rich and saturated as possible.

THE SLOW ROAD. Ballpoint, Posca paint pen, and Prismacolor pencil on cold press. Original for sale, $250 in my web store. Been working on this one in between tattoos for a few months, just chipping away a bit at a time. It’s only 7x5” but it’s been a weirdly busy and chaotic year. Seems like there’s something to be said for taking it slow when one still can, almost an act of protest in a society set to perpetually move faster, even if it’s in a dangerous direction. To me, this piece is a small embodiment of lessons around taking our time, being deliberate and discerning with our choices and actions, and taking a moment to reflect, and respond rather than react. 

In the spirit of the slow-going snail, I’ve had the idea of doing some tribal-style snails in different shells and would love to do some tattoos based on this idea. I’m envisioning customized versions draw to fit any number of spots with maybe a variety of funky shells. Just throwing shit out there. I’m an idea man. FULL COLOR FLORAL. Been meaning to post this tattoo for a long time - over two years apparently. Caroline and I finished this one up back in March of 2023. It feels like part of the first wave of tattoos here at The Wanderer, and it’s kind of stymying to think about how long ago that actually was, and how indicative this piece was of the direction my tattooing was going to develop into while working here. It’s weird to think how a few years ago I was primarily a black & gray / dotwork tattooer and how today those types of pieces are more rare for me to do than full color projects like this one. I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had these past few years to combine dotwork, geometric, and ornamental elements with the brightest and boldest color pigment I can find, and it’s been exciting to make some tattoos that feel like they can stand apart in a crowd a little bit. Thank you Caroline for trusting me, my vision, and my process, and thank you to all my regulars who have helped me explore this craft and try out some wild ideas along the way.

It was my extreme pleasure to tattoo this crawling Pink Panther morph on the extremely cool Dan Rivera earlier this week. This drawing has been stuck on my wall of wannados and traveled to conventions with me since 2016! It is quite clear to me after tattooing it though that it was made for Dan all along. CHRONIC THE DRUGHOG. Ballpoint & gel pen on coquille. How you think Sonic got so fast? A healthy diet, and lots of exercise of course. And everybody knows part of a balanced breakfast is a big ol bongload of some cannabis sativa. You gotta exercise your brain muscles too, kids, and that’s what the psychedelics are for, of course. This might end up on a sticker or shirt if I don’t catch a cease & desist first.

Crystal Ball from last year on one of the Black Labyrinth’s VIPs, Genesis. Elbows are a kinda brutal spot to get tattooed, so having a little extra magic there sure can’t hurt (well... that’s not ENTIRELY true). Thanks again Genesis for being a tuff & dedicated collector!

Was thrilled when Emily asked me to do this tripped out tribute to The Flatbush Zombies. The Glorious Dead have easily ascended to the absolute top of my rotation over the past several years - their new material keeps getting more interesting, faceted & mature - but I still find myself bumping Vacation In Hell on a nearly daily basis. This tattoo is explicitly inspired by the track “Crown” off that album. Thanks again Emily for the goddamn home run tattoo project & frankly, for suggesting I check out Flatbush many years & tattoos ago.

Made a cosmic constellation out of the molecular structure of THC-A for Nathan - this is after we did a beauty pass after it settled for a year. This was Nathan’s first tattoo!! Thank you for asking me to do such a cool concept for you as the start of your collection!

Sometimes maybe you sit on a project for too long. Thank you Caroline, one of my dearest & most dedicated clients, for your trust with this folk floral insanity that was definitely something of a leap of faith for both of us to endeavor. We were working on tying all of this up this past week, but I thought it was past due to give this piece some shine.

Thank you Rae for your dedication & patience while we chipped away at this Aquarian woman project. We started it over 3 years ago & then after a long break, finally got back into things here at The Labyrinth. I always enjoy tattooing cloaked figures, and am particularly pleased with how the Zodiac-inspired star map encapsulates her like a halo. Astrological with a lil’ nod to traditional religious iconography. As always, the cosmic, occult, & esoteric stuffs is my favs.
