What's your hype fixation currently?
My hyperfixation for the past bit is having large bird companions in my life. I'd love to adopt maybe two macaws, and make them the centre of my life. I'm ready to move somewhere warmer, into a house with tall ceilings and lots of sunlight pouring in, and with no direct neighbors. Have a big aviary or two in the backyard, and a garden so they can eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Free flight train them, and then take them on trips across the country. Eventually adopt or raise some other birds, probably a ringneck, maybe a sun conure. Hell eventually a toucan would be rad, one of my all time favourites.
Make my way into being a bird trainer, and travel around helping people train and bond with their birds. Eventually slow down and run a bird day care, boarding birds when people can't travel with them.
Once my lifetime is up, my will and testament will include someone to adopt and take care of my birds, someone who I would trust to treat them like family.
It's definitely not the worst hyperfixation I've had, it's pretty manageable and isn't all consuming. Helps that it involves an intelligent living being, so I can't just dive headfirst into it. Saves me alot of money too, as some hyperfixations can drain me fast. This one has lasted awhile tho, and I'm not excited for it to go :/
me waiting for the next hyperfixation to consume me and give me renewed inspiration and purpose in life:
adhd is like every few days you get a strong sudden impulse to do one particular thing and you make elaborate plans for it but after three hours you havent done it so instead you all at once lose any interest and begin to experience soul crushing depression for the next few days during which you lose the ability to do ANYTHING let alone take care of yourself and whenever you think about your three-hour hyperfixation you feel horrendous stomach churning guilt
