HOW THE KIN ONION CHART WORKS
This was originally a thread on my Twitter, but I thought i’d post it here too since I’ve seen the onion get posted around! I’d recommend reading it there as it’s formatted better.
The basics of these can be split into three layers of significance. As you get closer to the center of the chart, the more significant a character is to understanding the development of the OC.
Layer 1, or the core character, is the character most significant to the oc. This character could be described as the blueprint, the one the OC is most heavily based on and shares many similarities with. An understanding of this character is essential for the OC.
Layer 2 includes other characters very important to the OC’s development and understanding. These ones could be considered just as important as Layer 1. An understanding of these characters can indicate a significant amount of info about the oc, even without the core.
Layer 3 continues to have significant characters, however they may not all be essential to the understanding of the OC, and on their own might not lead to a full understanding of what the OC is like. They overall as a character don’t encompass the OC.
Sometimes you can include a 4th layer! These outside bubbles are characters that are relevant to the OC, but really only in specific circumstances and aren’t helpful to an overall understanding. They may be more helpful for understanding dynamics with other OCs! You can get a .png, .clip and/or .psd file of the template at the google drive link here! I hope this was useful to understanding my process for these. They’re a very fun way to explain to others how your OC works! https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1V-74D–XkjohkJOyZ1LkZhWcgrA5ZpCo?usp=sharing Fanart used here is by @/tomatograter, @/whichoftime, @/xamag-ve @/hipdadz, along with @/charcharts and @/breadpaw for the additional character bubbles.

larian kidnapped some poor former catholic bisexual, held them at gunpoint & told them to spill their secret little sinner fantasies, took notes & then cooked up theses two characters in a laboratory
His bitch pose is NASTY don't EVER play with him.
Haarlep listening to the muffled sounds of Raphael doing his lil musical number while getting his ass beat by the adventurer they fucked earlier.
I'm still having some issues with the artblock, but I keep experimenting with styles to try new things :D. I made a few sketches of various Baldur's Gate 3 characters for possible future stickers or keychains and I'm pretty happy with the result!

POV you saved the Baldur's Gate, all of your friends and yourself. You even get some pretty shiny diadem. Ah, everything is just great.
