i disappeared for a few days again lmao.  keeping true to my muse,  i disappear and show up with bruises everywhere.  work has been Busy Busy with the holiday weekend and everything,  but i promise to get to starters that i owe,  as well as the amazing starters made for me and replies!  i hope everyone has had a great weekend!

he’s lost count of how often he’s shown up here.  shown up,  sat down,  and just listened.  listened to everyone who also lost half their universe.  he didn’t speak,  he rarely looked up from the damage on his knuckles.  support groups aren’t unheard of,  but when he was told that this one was run by captain america himself?  he had to go see for himself.  heartbeats run rampant,  breath hitching in their throat when they speak.  if only matt wasn’t so afraid of talking.  of opening up because he lost his universe,  too.  another moment passes and silence falls upon the room.  he can feel those eyes on him  ---  sized up like cattle.

          “They were like that when I got here!” A blatant lie, though she couldn’t really explain it otherwise… well, she could, but admitting she was Supergirl wasn’t easy, even to a fellow hero. It wasn’t her fault though; Kara caught the guys trying to break into someone’s apartment, and one of them had a gun. She had no choice but to handle it herself, and it was all fine and great until Daredevil showed up. “I saw the whole thing, uh — Mr. Devil, sir. Daredevil, sorry. Supergirl! It was her. He was trying to break into this house, and she swooped in, knocked them out and, you know, people to save, so she couldn’t stick around.” All made up on the fly, and Kara was pretty sure that it would all unravel, but hey — it was worth a shot; maybe it would give her long enough to see if she could trust him with her own secret.

he wasn’t exactly sure what was more entertaining  ---  watching four full-grown and armed men being folded up like an old wallet by someone who wore the facade of mild-mannered,  or that the same mild-mannered someone trying to pull a fast one on the devil of hell’s kitchen.  she was out of her element,  yes,  and perhaps she wasn’t aware of the full extent of matt’s senses,  but it was amusing all the same.  if he wasn’t already aware of her super beatdown already,  the acting would have opened up her masquerade.  not to mention the heat radiating off of her.  now that was interesting.   ❝   ---  yeah.  i’m sure.  must have just missed her.   ❞    there’s a smile pulling at the corner of his lips,  listening to the labored breathing of her victims.   ❝   shame,  because i wanted to thank her for making my job a little easier.   ❞
