A U R U M at its highest value
It was a not-so-long time-ago when I made my initial footsteps as I walk through high school. I never realized how the calendar posthaste the ripping of the pages and now, I’m sitting in front of my laptop as I reminisce moments from the 4 years that I spent in junior high school. As soon as this task was disseminated, I thought of it as if it was just a piece of cake and all but now, I guess my instincts failed me again. I don’t know how to refrain myself from being too emotional as I write this, but I’ll try my best to not make this as tear-jerking as it should be.
As I think of it, bursts thousands of memories uncontrollably popping out of my head and me—not knowing where or how to start. From me being labeled as one of the students who belong to the cream of the crop, then being the center of despise way back Grade 8 when I first stepped into the cluster of truly divergent people, as to being the loudest and one of the craziest girls in the class…
We did it. We’re finally completers of Junior High School. It will only be a few days away, — we will all be walking across that stage and be handing our very own certificate of completion at an event that has been on our minds ever since 10th grade begun.
It’s remarkable, isn’t it? I think I speak for most of us when I say that the days went by faster than we ever imagined they would. I remember being one of the Green Fighters and thinking about how long high school would be, but the thing is I remember thinking about that as if it was last week. The fact that I evolved from a fighter, to a red large megafauna, to a blue magnificent, mystical sorcerer and now, a ferocious and fearless cat with dark vertical stripes on reddish-orange fur with a lighter underside. Our journey is unbelievably swift.
Getting our requirements done, then joining various of contests, applying awards and getting through the most critical missions during examinations and quizzes (wink). All of those nights we spent cramming for the test the next morning, all of the books we read and the essays we wrote, all of the lessons we learned from not only our teachers, but our friends as well, all of the friendships/relationships we began, ended, and mended, and all of the wonderful and terrible experiences we have had throughout high school. I never thought things like these would eventually come to an end.
To the my favorite batch of classmates, behold. This one’s for you, unforgettable Homo Sapiens. (insert Ma’am Vi saying a rare: “Very good.”)
I.Ideal. You have won almost all hearts. You nearly won mine but thank the heavens I managed not to. Kidding aside, I like how your pabiboness really adds to your over-all admirable self. Even though sometimes, your words may get out of hand. There was this one time when you called me that something and it really did hurt me even though it may seem like things like that wasn’t knew to me. I salute you for one of the most responsible guys I knew in my whole existence. Thank you for reminding us when or what part to clean, or giving us the tidiest notes and for being one of the bibo squad in the class room. I’ll definitely miss you and your leadership and mandating skills. (buti pa ako marunong mag-thank you ehem ehem pagkatapos mag-send ng sagot sa Research makaramdam ka pls)
II.El Kabayo,in the late centuries, BBoy ( shoutout to those who can understand this one) at the present. This guy is one of the guys who can be described as to how bad boys and jerks are described in wattpad or any fictional books. And as how things get very twisted as resolutions in the ending, it is how I manage to unravel the hidden and other side of you inch by inch. As much as I can remember, you were once my arch nemesis inside the classroom way back Grade 8th but then, Grade 10 came and you became one of the plot twists I never expected in my 2017. I have no regrets. I’m just very grateful you were promoted. Just go easy with all the pananakit emotionally and physically kasi if I make sabog sabog na, I will definitely danug you with my powerful fists which you might never forget. Takot ka pls.
III. Jack-of-all-trades, indeed. I have a lot to tell about this big guy. One of my favorite people inside the classroom. I could actually write a whole book just enumerating the good qualities of this person. Our classmates have said enough and I think you won’t be needing much of my words but I must say you are one of the few people who poked my heart both in the good and the bad way. I had a great time with you these past few years and I can’t tell enough. I really, really admire you. Your humility, your intelligence, your everything. We need more people like you in this world, little Einstein. I’ll miss you.
IV.Still one of my favorites. I A D M I R E You a L O T. I may not say this very often but your smile legitimately brightens my day. You have these qualities that could really make you befriend a whole battalion of people in just a snap. I know I am not the only who secretly admired you in the first few years of high school. Remember that time when we became partners for the DNA model-making? I had a glimpse of your principles of being resourceful and thrifty and never have I ever been with someone as creative and witty as you. You are smart and understanding and all-almost everything. I still get this weird feeling in my tummy whenever I remember the times when I go very emotional and just felt like hugging you and you actually hugged back. You are the least person I’d ever want an argument with, just so you know.
V.White hair and luscious lips. I will never forget this courageous and fully determined guy. I like you just go with the flow and express yourself with words that you are not even sure with. I like how your confidence as a person brings out the best in you. I hope the slacks I gave you can still be wearable until out next Reunion along with the sling bag.
VI. Shell. We had a lot of memories together, mostly remarkable. All the dramas we’ve been involved to, all the rebuttals yells, violent pulling of hair and physical injuries that I will never truly forget (even though I desperately want to.) We had a lot of times together, and with all those time…It was then that I realized you were more than that shell. You are more than what your shell might show. You are actually soft inside and it was the least that I expected. Shells are brittle, shells can be very deceiving but I know you can crash it. Use your power and superiority to break that shell. That shell of pressure, that shell of envy, that shell which is undeniably taking over what’s you. You have to. It shows the real you.
VII.Smurf.Just like those little, squishy, undeniably cute creatures, I find you very interesting to look at. Your personality is just really amazing. You know how to handle things and people effectively. I’m glad that we are getting somewhat close these past few weeks. Thank you also for the times that you inspired me to do things that I’m lazy enough to do so. And how could I forget the time you taught me how to solve some series and parallel circuit problems? AGAIN, HOW COULD I FORGET SOMEONE AS MEMORABLE AS YOU? Remember Grade 9? I’m still truly sorry for what I’ve done. It was the first time the whole classroom saw you cry. It was also the first time I hugged a guy sincerely. You were one of my first times, be glad.
VIII. Clock. A person barely hears a single tick or a tock of a clock on a daily basis, just so as you. I barely hear you talk and it seems a really quite surprise whenever I you talk. I know though that you have a smart mind, you just appear to settle on your comfort zone with the others but I advise that you learn how to socialize actively because matters like that will be needed in our near future.
IX.Free as Freddie Aguilar’s caged bird. You, sir, should be given an absolute salute. For you have survived all these years schooling with all the principles of being so relaxed and free. I really don’t have much moments with you but I must tell you to not let yourself get used to the feeling of comfort because some things must be taken seriously especially for us, students. In a few days or weeks, it won’t be the same anymore. SHS is about to happen. I wish you good luck.
X. Piano. Like a piano, you seem to be a very mild, calm, and all things pure and beautiful once it has played. You were a good companion, back in the times when we eat our lunch together. You were not so bad after all. I love how you play the piano and the way you talk with the accent and everything. Just try to socialize more, you need to be heard.
XI.Cologne.This was the first thing that popped out of my mind as soon as I got to see your name on the list of names. I smell you every time we get to talk, or bump unto each other. Colognes are very diverse. Some are strong, some are mild, some are barely worn, some may stay…but not too long, some are hated and some cause headaches. I think you belong to the ones who cause a headache though. Kidding aside, I must say you have the brains along with the looks na rin (for Janae hahaha). I know you’ll certainly have an amazing future ahead. Try to appreciate more, be thankful and learn how to apologize.
XII. Coal but cool. You are indeed one of my closest guy friends and I’ve never been happier. I like how you accept me for being me and at the same time correct the things that you find not-as-girly as you want me to be. I somewhat hate how sweet and caring and all nice boys and typical pa-fall guys do. Refrain from being insensitive sometimes or try to be consider someone’s feelings before doing something. Get things clarified first and then make move. I’m going to miss your hugs btw, along with your shadow-like physique lol.
XIII. Videoke. Every time I think of you, I picture you holding a microphone while singing along with the beat and feeling every lyric that comes out of your mouth. I see you as a very dedicated singer. You have a nice voice along with your amazing personality and brightness of mind. You have an astounding future waiting for you. Work harder, Dream higher and soar high. I’ll miss our videoke moments.
XIV. Untouched soul. You are as pure as cotton fluff, but your faith is as strong as titanium and steel combined. I adore you so much with all you comforting words that really gives a pound of hope, the calmness of your voice depicts a person who could be classified as a child of God. I know I may not be consistent and my faith can be as strong as a withered flower, know always that I believe in Him and sooner or later, I will be able to come with my realizations and know what to do. For now, I must say, stay what you are or improve more.
XV. Wreck. This guy’s one hell of a wreck. Destructive in so many ways I must say, but behind this wreck lies mended pieces or maintained structure of his brokenness. People could help you mend back the broken pieces but the broken part will still be there like a scar. Be sensitive enough to mind that other’s might feel when you say those unkind, violent words of yours. Know how to accept how things as it goes and change for the better.
XVI. The Nostalgic Book. I’ve always seen you as a person of literacy when it comes to Filipino. I have a huge adoration on how you use those flowery words and plant them upon those leaf of paper using your typical local branded ball pen. You are that nostalgic book that brings me back to the past years. How things seemed like paradise and all the flowery and admirable things, the peacefulness and a hint of simplicity and serenity. You are indeed remarkable, MR. EIC.
XVII. Handkerchief. I cannot picture you in my head as a Timi without a hanky. You are also one of the few boys who I’ve been close with on these past few months and I have no regrets. I like how straightforward you are when it comes to judging things. I’ll always remember the times where you were the only one willing to hear my stories about you-know-who. I’ll forever be grateful of whatever we shared throughout this school year. You are a great leader. Keep your trust and faith to its strongest! Don’t die, we need more people like you, Mr. President.
XVIII. Hugs and meter sticks. A dose of your hug takes all the worries away and I thank you for that, you tall ass guy. Thank you for being one of my close guy friends who are willing to share stories with me and tactlessly judge things with me. Just refrain of talking about people behind their back. If you got any problems with someone, stand up and approach just how tactless you are in throwing out the words you say. I have no hard feelings and remember that I have always been a true friend of yours and never was it slipped through my mind to betray you or disappoint you.
XIX. Mole of the Valley. Last guy I’ll mention because I’d certainly be able to make a novel as how Rizal’s iconic books are made (jk In ur dreams.) I have countless of words to say to you but all I can think of is to say Thank you. Thank you for all the fun mem’ries that we shared and made. All the unusual, crazy, hype and odd things we’ve done. You made my 2 years of schooling worth it. You are one of the reasons why I was able to survive the pressure and toxicity in Junior High School. Your company makes me feel so blessed and I always thank God for giving me you and pushed me to approach you at that particular time in 9th grade. We have successfully influenced the whole room with our _kalogness _and extraordinary words that only the three of us are supposed to know about. I must say, we are the wildest in class, I have no doubts in that. It’s so legit that we can be given a trophy or Certificate for being so extraordinary in class. You have been with me through thick and thin, through salad juice and chicken, through hotcake and isaw. I will definitely, surely, absolutely, with all truthfulness say that I WILL MISS YOU. I hope and pray that even though we won’t be classmates or schoolmates for our next journeys, we’ll stay as close as we are because you have honslty seen almost everything in me, greater than how my family sees me lol. Know that you will always have a huge spot in my heart and that could not be occupied by anyone else. Thanks for being you when you’re with me. More chickens to come!
And to those who bloom in times of gloom (crdts to Kath’s bio)
XX. Chin. Her cleft chin has always been her asset. I haven’t talked to her much in those 2 years of being with her inside the classroom. Even though I haven’t seen her in her worse or best times, I know that you somehow made an impression for me. What I can tell you is, always be true to yourself. Follow what your heart desires. Thanks for being a good classmate.
XXI. Bunny Teeth. I can still recall the moments I spent inside the classroom with you even if the memories aren’t that much, I’ll treasure it. Your smile is contagious. I must say. You are also one of the nicest inside the classroom. Stay what you are and always dream big.
XXII. Angel’s Voice. Your voice is the calmest, your over-all appearance is the freshest. I like how your attitude also reflects your personality. I’ve been with you through various of activities and contests too and I know how much of an achiever you are. Stay hard-working and keep your head straight for more achievements. God bless you always.
XXIII. Crooked arm with the crooked smile. To be honest with you, not even once in my Elementary life had I wished and thought of you being a friend of mine. You were once the superior, arrogant girl from 1st grade who bullied me but now, it seems as if you’re a different person. You changed soooooooo good that I can’t even express how grateful I am. You are one of my closest friends at this point of time and I know you’ll always and forever be. My advice for you is to not give it all. Like, spare a little for yourself so you’ll have something to go back to once all the things you have given are all destroyed, and cause you pain. Know that I’ll always be here whenever you need me. Cheers to more hangouts with you!
XXIV. Wavy beauty. I know we don’t talk much in school and all but there’s one thing I am sure of. It is the fact that you are legitimately beautiful. Thank you for keeping up with this annoying classmate of yours. I wish you all good luck on your journey in SHS, and I hope we’ll still be classmates. God bless!
XXV. Short hair, don’t care. You haven’t changed a tiny bit. You were still that credible and short-haired girl I’ve known from Grade 7. It is nice to have you as a classmate again even though we barely talk in school. Thank you for keeping up with my loudness and craziness inside the classroom. I hope to see you soon again in SHS. I wish you best. Dream big and Soar high!
XXVI. Cute smurf. With all the other smurfs in class, you are the one I find the cutest. You’re so humble and diligent, I salute you for that. Aslo, you are a good dancer. Improve it and refrain from having doubts on yourself. You are great, keep that noted. Thanks for the memories!
XXVII. Chubby but witty. I must say, you are the type of chubby who does not get offended when called names being plus size. I salute you for your tolerance because I, myself could not do as you can. I try to be as strong and insensitive as you but I can’t. Thanks for opening my eyes on a lot of things. Continue with your business career on Kimbap! I wish you all the best.
XXVIII.Precious pessimism. Do I have to remind how precious you are? Well then, now you must know. I don’t know what has happened to you exactly but I have clues. I know exactly how it feels. The thought of drowning in your emotions and the orce that everybody make is pushing you towards the ground. Believe me, I’ve been there. Do not be afraid to open up sometimes, though I know how hard it is to really open up but give time for yourself to figure out what’s what and how to resolve it. We cannot help you unless you help yourself.
XXIX. The Frustrated. In life, we have desires for something that we ought to have but we can’t just have what we want. Life does not simply work that way unless you have an unnatural way of achieving it. I’m aware that you’ve done your part. I’m also aware that you’ve done everything in your means to have THAT part. Don’t worry, there are bigger things ahead of you waiting for your compliance and I’m sure you’ll rock all of ‘em. You have one big heart on writing and I hope it will expand more. Cheers to our memories from Grade 7 up to now. I’ll miss you.
XXXI.Black in White. Another black beauty y’all. I salute you for having that great tolerance when people make fun of you. You have this strong personality that is starting to show off. Nevertheless, continue being a determined student. See you in the next journeys of our lives.
XXXII. Hayley Williams. You are such a go with the flow person, so relaxed and free. Every time I think of you, picture of the vocalist of Paramore always comes out of my head, and that is Hayley Williams. You are so fun to be with and you can easily adapt to one’s personality. Just don’t get things out of hand and always know your limitations. Thank you for the memories.
XXXIII. Walking marshmallow. I see you as a cotton fluff. You are so cute and huggable. You are a smart person and I admire the way you express things such as your idead, responses, and comments about a certain matter. Continue to be simple, humble and intelligent. Nail ABM! You can do it!
XXXVI. All-in-one. You got the beauty, you the brains, very ideal. First of all, thank you for trusting me. I’m so blessed to have you as one of my closest friends whom I have to be with at most times. You have a lot more to achieve in life. I’m so proud of all the things you have achieved. Thank you for being a friend and dealing with my craziness. See you in SHS and I hope we’re on the same Block. God Bless!
XXXV. Ramp Queen. Confidence is the key to uphold the crown. Luckily, you are made up of 99% of confidence. I admire you for being so balance in terms of studies and social life. You excel not only in Mathematics but also in making us laugh our esophagus out whenever you effortlessly hurt yourself or walk as if the world is your stage. You have countless more to achieve!
XXXVI. Amazona Smurf. This girl is a legit epitome of Small but terrible. Terrible indeed. This Amazona does not let anyone come in her way, no matter how big, or tall, or powerful they might be. I like this personality of yours, girl but know your limitations. I wish you the best for SHS!
XXXVII.White Rose. This pure soul is one of the few ladies I admire most. It is in her angelic face where you can sight innocence and calmness of nature. She is also a very intelligent girl with lots of surprises. I hope to be your classmate for the next school year, you rose.
XXXVIII. Library. She seems to know it all. She seems very superior. She looks like she could eat you alive. But there also points that she seems cool and normal and not cannibal. Just a reminder: Do not try to argue with this girl. I repeat, DO NOT ARGUE WITH THIS GIRL.
XXXIX. Sunflower. Like how the sunflower seems to be a head-turner in a field, this girl slays it. With her fair and glowing skin along with her friendly and all-cool personality. I admit we had disputes last year but things change—for the better at least. I’m so grateful for you have done for me during the Finals. I never expected that even though I did not give you as much as what you’ve given me. I’m sorry for all the things that I’ve done wrong and the mistakes I’ve committed to you. Anyways, I want you to be aware of your self-worth. Girl you are precious and don’t let anyone make you feel otherwise. God bless!
XL. Hearts. You are so full of love as human. You have plenty of friends around you and I know how blessed you are. Thank you for the moments we’ve shared and for liking some of my tweets from time to time. Thank you also for supporting me around my jokes and somewhat promoting my sense of humor. Thank you so much for everything. I’m surely going to miss you.
XLII. Lollipop. As sweet as lollipop, and as cute as it sounds. You are the slimmest yet still one of the prettiest. I love how you laugh at my jokes. I appreciate it a lot. We had a lot of memories together and I hope that one day, we get back unto these memories and laugh away as we reminisce. Thank you for the joy! God bless!
XLIII. Effortless. I must say, you are one of the girls in the classroom whose beauty can be seen effortlessly. Not only beauty, but also the brains. I admire your all-cool personality even though we weren’t as close as we used to be way back 9th Grade. Nevertheless, I wish you all the best.
XLIV. Colors. Like how you bring colors back to life with the brush, like how you draw things with your magical hand, you gave low-key gave me an inspiration on doing some artsy things on Summer. Your study habits are out of this world sometimes and I salute you for that. Ma, you are amazing. Thank you for the memories and moments. Wish you all the best for SHS!
XLV. She must be Zili, but she can make me happy. To my dearest best friend from 3 years ago up to the present, we’ve known each other for quite some time now and I must say I’ve seen all of you. Unlike any other friendships, ours was unique. It was a very open and our relationship was very one of a kind. Girls like you are rare nowadays and I’m so blessed to have you in my life. One who can be trusted whole-heartedly, one who can understand you just by looking right straight to your eye, and all of the other things that would make me spend 24 hours in front of this laptop after stating all of it. To whoever guy you’ll be dating in the far future, he’s very lucky. I also want to apologize for the things I’ve done to you, for the feeling that I made you feel, for the things that contribute to the sadness you’re feeling. Know always that I’m here for you and I’ll always be even after high school. Let’s just make sure we have stable communication though. Until then, know how much you mean to me. Strengthen your faith more, be someone they never thought you could be. Inspire other people. Dream big and fight for what’s right. Thank you for everything!
And here I end and bid thy goodbye. Viola Au! I’LL MISS YOU ALL TO THE FULLEST. We are the finest batch of Gold.
