A few weeks ago a very endearing intern from Europe asked me what Fashion Week was like in 2001 after the World Trade Center attacks. The truth is I was in Paris heading to a class and thought everyone was lying to me about what happened until I walked into the building where my class was and there right on the screen with about the entire student body crowded around it, was the news.

But I myself at the time was just an intern and didn't yet realize the overlap of the attacks and the fashion calendar...

The past week shows were affected in the 10 year remembrance of 9/11, car and foot traffic was bad but the shows went on.

I looked into it, curious to know what the effect was 10 years ago on NYFW and wanted to share this very interesting article by Cathy Horyn about how the industry people did what they do best, find solutions quickly and effectively to any unanticipated problem.

Tonight's a big night for the Fashion Industry, Fashion's Night Out in its 3rd go around just keeps getting better and better!

Happy to announce the Norwegian duo With & Wessel's first store opening here in Soho NY this evening! Alongside the team, fellow Scandy jewelry designer Linn Lomo will be part of the launch with an exquisite selection of pieces by the With & Wessel designers from Linn's 1st Edition collection.
