Goodmorning to girls who are trapped in a nightmare dimension <3
i understand the point of being like “be critical with everything you consume” but man sometimes i just wanna consume things without a single thought in my brain. arent yall tired
why do i have to find an actual job instead of being the apprentice of the old witch who lives in the woods?
This image is cursed, but not toward you, rather against any that try to wrong you.
THIS IMAGE IS A WARD
I don’t go to therapy or take any pills I just rawdog life and let my brain turn into soup
not to be unnecessarily fake deep on a wednesday afternoon but I feel like I don’t have a personality also that I’m not real
A girl: *headphones in, reading, on the phone, etc.*
Men: oh a willing conversation partner?
College Witchcraft
College presents its own set of challenges for all of us. Aside from the usual hurdles involved with classes and coursework and meeting new people, there’s transplanting your witchcraft to deal with. The three biggest problems in that arena are:
Conflicts with roommate(s)
Materials like candles, incense, and blades not allowed in dorms
Lack of available resources
Fortunately, there are ways of dealing with that.
The first and most important thing is dealing with your roommate. If you know the person beforehand, I strongly urge you to sit down with them and have an open and honest discussion about your beliefs and theirs. Put everyone’s cards on the table and see where you both stand. Hopefully, you’ll be able to come to a consensus. If not, see if you’re able to find another roommate, because that’s a fight you don’t want to have to have in your room.
Now, as to the tools of your trade, there are plenty of substitutions you can make that work just as well, even if they aren’t as much fun to use.
Knives/Blades - If it’s a ceremonial blade that you use purely for symbolism, you can make a “knife” with your dominant hand, by holding it up with all four fingers and thumb straight together and rigid. If you’re using it to carve something, pins or toothpicks with do that job. For cutting purposes, substitute a pair of scissors.
Incense & Candles - Depending on your roommate’s sensitivity to certain smells, you could get a reed diffuser for scented oil or a plug-in air freshener. For the light of the candles, you can get battery-powered tealights or decorative electric candles or string lights (available as holiday decorations).
Additionally, if your practice includes burnt or scattered offerings, you can put the materials in a bowl and leave them on your altar space from dawn until dusk or vice versa. Then, take the offering and dispose of it, as appropriate, in one of the following ways:
Into your room trash or an outdoor trash receptacle (for paper, larger items, or uneaten food)
Down the sink drain or toilet (ONLY if liquid or fully water soluble)
Scattered on open ground (ONLY if small non-littering particles like herbs)
Consume it yourself (if food or drink and safe to do so)
Please keep in mind if you choose to scatter an herb offering, DO NOT scatter salt on grass or in a garden, as it will harm the plants and make the soil alkaline and unable to grow anything.
As for raw materials, you can do witchcraft with just about anything, even down to pencil and paper if need be. If you have a green thumb, see if your window will let you have a couple of potted herb plants on the windowsill. If not, check the supermarket spice aisle for readily available herbs and spices. You can also order herbs and materials online, provided that they don’t conflict with your dorm’s rules. Check back on this blog for more tips on cheap and easy witchcraft.
And remember, my askbox is always open over at breelandwalker if you have questions! Happy Crafting, College Witches!
For my Apartment Dwelling witches
*some of these also can apply to tiny houses or underage witchlings who only have a bedroom*
For many of us making our living space feel “witchy” can be a challenge, (I should know, my apartment is literally a one room studio that was once just a bedroom in an old house) so I wanted to point out some simple and easy things you can do in your small space! Please feel free to add more if you think of them! ~starborn-badwitch
·Don’t have room for an altar? DIY an old jewelry box (or a wooden box from a craft store) and make a small altar that’s easily put up or moved when you need it to!
·Or use an altoid tin for super small ones that fit in a backpack, purse, pocket, etc.
·No yard or personal space outside? Try window boxes for your herbs and plants, or even one of those small indoor herb gardens.
·Lacking space for witchy decor? Make small seasonal wreaths for the holidays you observe and put them on your apartment door
·Or do themed garland for the aforementioned windowboxes!
·So your bathroom is small, meaning you only have a shower and no tub. Same here. No ritual baths or bathbombs for us! However you can take a ritual shower, get some shower scrub with natural oils, and flowers/herbs for relaxation and meditation. Meditate as if you were under a waterfall!
·Tealights and votives don’t last as long, but in small spaces they’re your friends! Plus since they burn quickly you won’t have to store a bunch of leftover stuff, keeping your smaller space more tidy.
Subtle Witch Tips - Lammas / Lughnasadh
Happy Harvest!
I created a list of subtle witch tips for folks who are looking for some low-key harvest celebrations during this busy time.
🌽 Bake a loaf of Quick Bread - Unlike most breads which take hours to prove, quick breads are just that - quick! Have a search around Pinterest or your favorite recipe places and find something that strikes your fancy. I happen to be partial to beer cheese breads with caramelized onions. While mixing your dough be sure to infuse it with thankfulness for all that you have been granted this year.
🌻 Do a ritual centered around your goals for the year - Make a list of everything you hoped to work on this year and evaluate how far you’ve come. Make offerings in celebration of all you’ve accomplished and meditate on what you can best do to manifest everything you’ve hoped for.
🌽 Go for an early evening walk - Bask in the warmth and light that continues to suffuse the later hours of the day. As the days grow darker, you will come to miss the greenery and easy evening productivity. There’s no easier way to be grateful for something than to acknowledge it in the moment and be fully present in the world.
🌻 Let go of regrets with a burning spell - Lughnasadh is also a period of reflection as with the bounty of life comes the memory that death is not far behind. Sit quietly and meditate on what plans you had that are not working out, or what endeavors you should be letting go of. Write all your regrets and what you want to rid yourself of on pieces of paper or corn husks if you’re feeling particularly seasonal. Gather all of them up and burn them one by one to release yourself from such burdens as we go into the tail end of the year.
🌽 Tidy Up - While we usually think of harvest time as a period of abundance, for farmers it is also a time of cleaning. Once the bounty of the fields is collected, work begins to prepare the ground for more crops, or for the soil to sit under a sleepy blanket of snow until spring. Take some time out of your Lughnasadh celebrations to clean your space - your altar, your home, or even just your bed or desk. Evaluate that which is no longer serving you and consider donating unwanted items so that others may benefit from your abundance!
Wishing you all a very happy first harvest! ☀️

The sabbats are holidays celebrated throughout the year on solstices, equinoxes, and the midpoints between them. These sabbats form the Wheel of the year.
There is a controversy surrounding the dates of these holidays, as people celebrate them all over the earth, not only in the northen hemisphere but in the southern too.
One viewpoint is that the Sabbats should be celebrated as they were originally created to be… in other words, Samhain is October 31st, regardless of where you live. In the Southern Hemisphere, even though you are just gearing up to summer on October 31st, this perspective says that you celebrate the cleansing and releasing, the honouring of the dead just as you would if you lived in the Northern Hemisphere. The other viewpoint (the one I personally agree with) is that you should celebrate when you feel like the season corresponds with the holiday, in other words, your craft, your rules. So if you live in the southern hemisphere, you have the choice.
I’ll be writing the dates for each holiday starting with the northen hemisphere and then the dates that many people celebrate them in the southern hemisphere
