made some edits of this angry , vengeful fae ... 💕
when corum fights , he becomes deeply engaged in combat. he ignores most injuries to himself unless they’re major, and continues to attack in an almost blind manner. in particular , corum dismembers his foes , or is known to take out eyes with his blades. it is noted that at his behavior , his friends & loved ones are frightened by this. they know the trauma and pain corum has suffered , and it seems that he sometimes wishes to inflict his sufferings upon others , and his mentality had caused concern amongst his companions.
whereas elric is a fucking moron , corum is 100% valid

“ he stared at a face , which writhed as if composed with a million white worms. dead , red eyes peered from the face , and all the horrors he had ever witnessed could not compare with the simple , tragic horror of that visage. the flesh of prince gaynor’s face began to putrefy , and change into a score of foul colors , which gave off a more pungent stench than anything issued from the chaos pack itself. and as he watched , the face changed its features . . . ”
P R I N C E G A Y N O R T H E D A M N E D.
once a proud knight along the ranks of law , prince gaynor succumbed to the will of chaos. killed , and subsequently brought back to life by the forces , he was doomed to serve against those he’d served in life. the chaos sign is now engraved upon the armor he wears as a reminder of who he now belongs to. in battle , he is relentless & nigh-unkillable. gaynor commands a wide number of chaos beasts upon many a universe. he’s caused the destruction of the rose’s universe , as well as being an enemy to prince corum , among others.
the only way to banish the prince ( or to have a chance at killing , though he shall be reborn , as he is damned to serve in an unending cycle ) is to remove the visor from his face , and gaze upon what horrors lie beneath , provided you are on the side of law. this curse is an ever-changing appearance , one that bears horrific resemblance to undeath , but it still writhes with a sickly life , as bestowed upon him by the cosmic balance as punishment for his actions.

“ my ------ my queen. ” corum spoke, HAUNTED , ONE EYE STARING. through the realms, what vadhagh magick he possessed reached through to her , hoping for some semblance of what he’d once called home. he comes across ragged , a gasping , bloodied thing , dirtied in the ghastly grip of the humans. no longer the calm prince he once was , there stood a hateful , quivering shell ------ mournful and mutilated , though the limbs of gods remade him.
corum’s mortal eye cries to see her , unspoilt by the chaotic hand. the prince shudders a pained sob through his tired body.
“ you’re unharmed . . . they haven’t found you yet. ”
reminder
corum’s words for human is “mabden,” a word which derives from the real-world cornish language. he uses it a lot, and rarely says the word “human” in his manner of speech, as he is not a human himself.

hir·aeth
/‘hir,āeth/
noun a homesickness for a home you can not return to or a home that never was.
rotcraft.
A LAND THAT WAS CURSED , GLOOM LINGERED. it was filled with death , decay , stale air that had plague swirling within it. this was her home—-their home. the home to the forsaken , people of the BANSHEE QUEEN. tirisfal had many harsh memories that clung to the dying land , ruins of what once was but is no longer. the corpses of scarlet crusade members had been maimed by her hand——extremists of their beliefs , sworn to the eradication of what her people were. ‘ some would consider this chaos , while others see it as a small victory. ‘
“ a victory for chaos, some might say. but i’ve not ventured in these lands. i’ve no knowledge of their history. what is law to one can be chaos to the other. ”
if such was true, then corum, prince of the scarlet robe, could not rest. following arioch’s trail of blood was not an easy road: it winded and coiled, serpentine as his very nature. so it’d lead him here, to these war-soaked lands.
“ but it seems mabden cause trouble wherever they breathe. ”
glencoe, scotland
Corum Jhaelen Irsei, the Prince in the Scarlet Robe.
The red-haired woman knits her brows as a stranger approaches. His robe is nearly the same shade as her hair, a haunted visage developing from the shadows as he nears. Her head cants.
“I do not know of whom you speak. Might you be mistaking me for another?”
She vaguely has heard of the various planes, but knows nothing of them. Her brows remain knit as she waits for a response from this blood-draped soldier.
“Mabden,” Corum repeats, tense. How the word tasted on his tongue------a mix of disgust and, dare he admit, hope. How the pain would never cease, even as he looked on. But he had met more than enough divines. A thorn of revenge remained pierced through his heart, unmovable, even as one solemn eye stared upon this woman. He looked crafted from darkness, from sufferings, and she was spun from light. “What some would call a ‘human.’”

“ YOU ARE NOT MABDEN. ” the prince approaches from the west, draped in a bloody shade of red. his silhouette a tragic portrait, gait slight and face gaunt. upon his arm does the god’s hand writhe, drawn to one of its own. metal clashes with metal, the six fingers twitching. “ but in the planes i’ve not glimpsed you. what manner of being is this that manifests before me? ”
Hatred is blind; rage carries you away; and he who pours out vengeance runs the risk of tasting a bitter draught.
Alexandre Dumas, The Count of Monte Cristo (via kerryquotesquotes)
so.
corum is a part of elric / is an incarnation of him. that being said, if your muse has met elric / had a relationship with him, corum will most likely recall them in some manner, like the feeling that they have met before.
